Desire Gold

Aventus / Explorer DNA undoubtedly. I guess it's Dunhill's turn to give it a shot. Tested this today - the lady sprayed two wide sprays on each arm so I could get a good wearing. Instantly it's Montblanc Explorer's opening, with the top notes of bergamot, black currant and apple all performing beautifully. Sadly this does not last, because half an hour later and a dry woody scent takes over. I am not getting the middle or base notes listed, which is rather odd. No rose, no musk, no vanilla. Perhaps a little of the oakmoss, but it's just dry wood and a little of the top notes now four hours later. You can tell this does not have much staying power. It is an EDT I suppose, but it's fading quite rapidly. The two Dunhill's I have in my collection are also EDT's but they last at least 10 hours, and project well. This has no projection (if that's your thing) beyond the first 20 minutes; it is quite intimate. I wish those top notes stayed stronger throughout, and what a pity about the dry-down! That dry woodiness is quite disappointing. I don't know how to rate this, and based simply on today's testing I won't be purchasing it. It has a wonderful opening, but the rest of the wear is not what I expected to encounter. Beguiling gold presentation, by the way. As a final thought, if you have Montblanc's Explorer you don't need Dunhill Desire Gold. Explorer is overall a superior fragrance.

First there is a burst of lemon and sour apple and grape, the other notes come in after a few 10 minutes, the end note is interesting but you have to spray it for hours to feel them. If you are looking for a perfume that is similar to Aventus and very citrusy, Gold can be a good option. The rose type is different from Red Dunhill, the vanilla is balancing and not too much felt. 70% citrus + some kind of wood and sharp flowers. But in the end it is beautiful When citrus is almost gone. The spray valve works very well, it can be adjusted to any amount you like with hand pressure, no dripping and no wasting of liquid, the design and the bottle cap are also beautiful. Ultimately it depends on your taste, don't expect a fruity and smoky Aventus, but for me it was interesting at this price. Of course it is somewhat smoky but very little.sillage and projection 6 or 6/5 out of 10. Longevity7/5 -8/10. Gold sometimes greets you 🙂

I now have all in this line and the Gold being the last one. This for me is the most enjoyable of all and the aroma is really refreshing. It lasts quite a long time on my skin, even with just two blasts on my wrist. It may not be a beast when it comes to the projection but it is really strong! It's a big plus for me because I was surprised how pleasant it is! 7.5 out of 10 for me👍❤️😎!

I've never smelled Aventus or Hacivat (or any of the ones listed as similar) -- this is my first foray into that DNA. I've had this for maybe a month now, worn a few times, and my experience has been great, especially after a little bit of maceration. It opens with fresh fruits and, towards the dry down/base, you get fougere, floral, and then a sort of smoky musk accord -- in that order. Great for spring, summer, and probably the first half of fall. Performance is decidedly on the weaker side. It lasts a while but its scent bubble greatly recedes after 3-4 hours for me. Luckily though, this stuff is pretty cheap and it's got this really solid pressurized atomizer that, with one spray, can dispense 2-3 sprays' worth of mist from most others. If I push it all the way down and hit more pulse points, it lasts a bit more. Overall worth it, glad to have this in my collection.

Creed Aventus clone # 1000.....lol. It does seem to have quality......and it does smell great. Nicely done bottle. Necessary...???....no....if you already have Aventus or another "decent" clone of it. After further investigation on my skin.....the dry down is where this veers away from Aventus. I get a final dry down of.....fruity/floral. So....IMO...Aventus + floral vibes.

Fragrantica is Wrong it's mentioned for Men🚹 on the box! This scent it's not for women 🚺at all! Fragrantica is all wrong once again! Shame👎 PS : it's not the clone of Aventus but it's very close to Aventus🤔 overall it's a pleasant scent by Dunhill👌jolly good indeed😉💝

How come Desire Platinum (not Desire Silver) is not on the database? I didn’t have hopes for any of the desire flankers since I wasn’t liking any of them after I had the original desire (Red) as a kid, none of the flankers impressed me. I recently found black in a Marshall’s bin and it was totally different from Red and Blue, Ocean and Extreme. It was almost like an 80’s type of fragrance with all the pepper and gentlemen style of scent. I didn’t love it but I felt intrigued to try other flankers that I ended up ordering silver and gold on eBay. While browsing the silver I ran into platinum on eBay as well which I immediately came here to look up and did not find any info. Many even confuse it with the silver or believe it is silver as for what I read online and even some with the platinum name but the photo is of the silver flanker and vice versa. Well the three arrived and I didn’t like gold it was just another Aventus/one million type of scent that is being tirelessly overdone by all and the silver well I’m still trying to see if it grows on me. The Platinum I thought I wasn’t going to like based on the name alone I felt like it was going to be a metallic generic synthetic scent but it blew me away especially the dry down. It smells like a scent Jean Claude Elena would do for Hermes under the Hermessence line! By far, Platinum is the best flanker out of the entire desire line!

Definitely for a man. Basically, like everyone is saying, the opening is a less complex, less smokey adventus clone but that's it. Very poor longevity and projection, but at least it is cheap and the bottle is decent-looking.

Comparing a 2024 aventus and this one, sbs, this is a tad more bitter but super super close. Weak performance, almost as weak as creed’s :)))

Great alternative to aventus but the longevity is disappointing nonetheless. you get what you pay for 😶
