Desire Silver

I've been looking for a good summer scent, so I picked this up as a blind buy. I usually find advertised "summer" flankers to be either much too soft or generic. Based on the notes listed, my expectation for Silver to be an exception was not high. The opening- fresh immediately, not original but appealing with citrus notes. Projection is pretty strong, especially compared to other citrus fragrances. Definitely noticeable, more bold rather than understated. The lingering dry down is pleasant and present. I get 5-6 hours on a hot day, mix of indoors and outdoors. I find the dry down similar to Azzaro Chrome Legend, though less synthetic. I couldn't wear Chrome Legend- there is a metallic harshness woven into it that I found difficult to tolerate long-term. Desire Silver is a similar scent without that aspect. If you like Chrome Legend, you'll like this too, as I find it superior to ACL. For a safe summer scent, this is pretty good stuff. It succeeds in having decent sillage and longevity. It's weakness- not very original or mind blowing, but it is a quality scent. Dunhill Desire Silver is a nice EDT and can be purchased quite inexpensively. Definitely worth looking at. Scent: 8/10 Silage:7/10 Longevity: 7/10 Value for the price: 9/10 Update: after wearing this a few times, I must say that I like it more and more. It's woodier/warmer than most other aquatics I've tried. Really nice scent.

Love the silver bottle and flip top cap. Smells Amazing! I bought the Red Desire, but the Silver is Top of the Line. Picked this up TJ Maxx after Christmas for only $12 for the 3.4oz! Very Pleasing!

Excellent scent by dunhill again! Not big hype around it's for gentleman only! Fresh and spicy i love it! Bravo

I picked this up this week at Marshall's for $10 on clearance, so right out of the gate I knew it would be a good value for the price. The scent is initially a strong, bracing blast of citrus, with the bergamot reading lemony to my nose. This is accompanied by a very slight metallic note that sometimes accompanies strong citrus frags. As it settles, a soft, clean-cotton type note comes through and remains underneath the citrus for the duration. It's reminiscent of a citrus cologne that's been sprayed on a freshly laundered white t shirt. It's a perfect out-of-the-shower scent when you just want to feel clean. It did solicit a random compliment from a sales lady this week, so projection is a bit better than I initially thought. The dry downreminds me of TB SS Martinique, except with an added fresh laundry accord. Safe blind but if you enjoy occasional cheap freshies!

This smells nothing like the Desire Black or any of the other fragrances from the Desire line. Silver is like a totally fresh citrus and vetiver scent. The birch wood at the base is noticeable too but it's not very bold. I get mostly citrus and vetiver which I like. This isn't a banger at all. It's like an easy gym fragrance or something easy for a t-shirt. It could be used for better settings but it's not a performance monster. This is an easy fragrance if you want something fresh and simple. It's no more than 20 dollars which won't break the bank. The bottle is so cool! I love the flask bottles from this line. I would say this is in the same ball park as fragrances like Zegna Uomo. I give this a 77/100.

This really good - I don't understand all the bad reviews (the notes shown seem correct: it's mandarin/orange as the key scent - orange is a happy and friendly note). I love the Dunhill Desire range of 4 fragrances. My favourite is the Black, then this one - which is really versatile (i.e. very easy to wear). I'm not really into the fruity Red Desire (as I am older and want a fragrance for the office), and the Blue Desire is my least favourite. In my opinion, the Black and Silver Desire are very decent scents - they all have the Dunhill DNA - and in terms of perfumery expertise, they are great value! Tip: Layer this is Jaguar Classic Amber and you've got something going!

This is a great dumb reach fragrance like designer fragrances are, it's very mass appealing but kinda unique, very synthetic. It's pretty citrusy yet a bit smokey with a hint of something foresty. Its nothing crazy but its a great dumb reach fragrance if you are looking to buy something designer to just wear all the time, great alternative to that, will get you compliments, its very strong which is great so calm down on the trigger but its not the most long lasting thing out there but I wear this mostly on clothes and not on skin so it lasts all day on that.

Dunhill is an amazing men's fragrance house. This has a similarity to Givenchy Pi Neo. It's metallic, futuristic and has a slight floral smell to it. This is a total party scent for the spring and summer. I really like citrus fragrances like this. It's really smooth as well. I give this an 8.7/10.

Terrible! Even gross on my shoes...like a counterfeit Lise Watier Neiges with even cheaper ingredients. Cough and gag worthy. The high ratings HAVE TO consist of employees working PR for the company. No one will like this.

How come Desire Bronze and Platinum (not Desire Silver) are not on the database? I didn’t have hopes for any of the desire flankers since I wasn’t liking any of them after I had the original desire (Red) as a kid, none of the flankers impressed me. I recently found black in a Marshall’s bin and it was totally different from Red and Blue, Ocean and Extreme. It was almost like an 80’s type of fragrance with all the pepper and gentlemen style of scent. I didn’t love it but I felt intrigued to try other flankers that I ended up ordering silver and gold on eBay. While browsing the silver I ran into platinum on eBay as well which I immediately came here to look up and did not find any info. Many even confuse it with the silver or believe it is silver as for what I read online and even some with the platinum name but the photo is of the silver flanker and vice versa. Well the three arrived and I didn’t like gold it was just another Aventus/one million type of scent that is being tirelessly overdone by all and the silver well I’m still trying to see if it grows on me. The Platinum I thought I wasn’t going to like based on the name alone I felt like it was going to be a metallic generic synthetic scent but it blew me away especially the dry down. It smells like a scent Jean Claude Elena would do for Hermes under the Hermessence line! By far, Platinum is the best flanker out of the entire desire line!

This is better then I had originally believed it would be... Dunhill is such a solid designer house. Good quality for a very affordable price (on discounter websites and rack stores - As full retail pricing can be high, like many designer fragrances. Dunhill fragrances aren't priced like Guess or Banana Republic at full retail...) This is simple and straightforward - Fresh and clean with a touch of aquatics and a solid backbone of woods a fresh spicy accord. Office, Casual, Spring, Summer... For the price, this is a solid pick up. Nothing special... But I like it.

I figured this would be a fairly safe blind buy since I like the rest of the Desire line. However... 1st impression: It's weird. 2nd impression: I can't smell anything. 3rd impression: It reminds me of old fashioned white bar soap my mother used to use, or like powdered hand soap that we used to have in the restrooms at my elementary school. 4th impression: Kind of reminds of me of Fahrenheit 32. 5th impression: It's weird. Can't figure this one out.

A nice fesh aquatic, light citrus based scent. Very clean smelling good for spring Summer and everyday use. Nice vetiver note in the drydown. Not a love but definatley a like and easy to pick up and wear. I would say about a 7.5 out of 10.

Disappointed. Not much to smell after initial spray. Even after i shove my nose into my arm (After spraying) I don’t get too much in the way of projection. No wonder it’s at discounters. Bla!

One of if not my most complimented fragrances. I love The Red and The Blue Desire. This is more of a fresh take on Dunhill. Nothing like the original. I give it B+

SYNTHETIC MESS. Metal, powder and fake citrus. A pastiche of a soap, not as good as a cheap room spray. It's too overall bad to even be considered gendered.
