Dunhill Edition

in middle 1991 my family traveled to London UK, we stayed there for couple of months right after the war that my country was in, i was a child back then, & my mom & auntie always takes me & my brothers to oxford street, so we went to Selfridges once and there was that promotion of Dunhill Edition in the main sector. Models were the ones who markets this perfume, so you can't believe how many lipstick was all over my face from those beautiful models. One of them were a beautiful tall Asian female model, once she saw me she thought i was Asian as well :D so the kisses again came on me like rain. according to that mom bought me this perfume where also it came with a medium to large handbag that until today i have it. & that was the first ever perfume that i got and since then it became my first passion and my love. as years goes by i kept on buying it, as i forgot i was doing this since just 2 weeks back when my younger brother told me that he wants some perfumes from me, and he asked me something that even took me back in time when he said "i remember few days back i smelled a perfume you wear that reminded me of the 90s when we used to play nintendo 64, and dreamcast in your room" then i took this perfume out and sprayed it on him, he felt quite comforting and happy as it truly reminded him of good old days. It is my long lasting LOVE.. it is very comforting and the best in their collection, or let's say the only one that i'd wear from dunhill. it has lavender and few combination that makes it blissful. i have edited my comment as i was too harsh on the new formula which i tried on (23rd feb 2014) and i was over exaggerating calling it chaos as honestly it wasn't that bad. what made me think it was chaos was me sniffing allot of perfumes at the same time as the sellers there was spraying allot of perfumes on my arm so they got mixed all together specially that the sellers was spraying the annoying collection of Thierry Mugler. i tried it just today again (19th April 2014) the new formulation.... the main different was the top note as they are kind of different in a way that the new formula has bitterness in it & it remains even if it dries down, but you won't notice it much if you don't have that sensitive nose. To me there are quite different things between the new and the old. i don't want to be harsh again but there are similarity & i need to give it more time cause this formula is new, and even the formula that has been givin' to me in 91 was 7 years old. it remains my loving memory and i hope the new formula will be the same.

This is an awesome old school barbershop fougere that I'd instantly recommend as a blind buy to anyone that's into that sort of thing, or for that matter, anyone who's into historic fragrances and the history of perfumery in general. Dunhill Edition was released in 1984 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original 1934 Dunhill For Men; the release of which was a landmark in the development in men's fragrances. As such it reuses the same period style art deco flacon with the twisted glass, this time adding frosting. This, along with the bright yellow juice (which takes a very nice soft lemony hue through the frosting) are a welcome differentiation from original Dunhill For Men as this is not a true flanker in the classic sense. That said, it does still share many notes with it's older brother as does it's younger brother, 1996's 'D' by Dunhill, the final fragrance to use this same flacon. The obligatory citrus and lavender is in full effect. There's a hint of spice that's very light, but still very much there. I also detect a faint but clear and crisp, and very clean smelling ginger. For anyone who's familiar with the classic women's cologne Jean Nate (which in and of itself is something of a barbershop fougere marketed to women), you could almost basically consider this to be Jean Nate for men. Everything reminds of it including the frosted glass, black cap, black writing, and of course most importantly the smell. Smells exactly like a more feminine version of Jean Nate. A quick comparison here on Fragrantica shows Jean Nate shares 6 out of Edition's 9 main accords, and comparisons of their pyramid are very very similar. Basically if you remove the rose and add a little treemoss, sage, ginger, and a little extra spice this is what you'd get. This is far from being a projection monster or "80's powerhouse", nor does it last especially long. But at $15 - $20 for 100ml you can apply and reapply as much as you want. All that said I give it an 8/10. A fragrance that, while maybe not as groundbreaking as it's more venerable older sibling, made enough of an impression to still be here in 2024 celebrating it's 40th birthday. If you like to collect barbershop fragrances, or are a collector of vintage and classic fragrances of yesteryear this one's a safe blind buy all day long.

I have a recent US bottle and although the formulation is much criticised I really like the scent. I do wish the performance were slightly stronger but for me it's no issue. I can always spray more, reapply and maybe, when this bottle's empty, buy another of what is--the bottom line--a very well-blended, pleasant, fresh, green fragrance for the spring, the autumn and possibly the summer, with more than enough going on for it not to seem thin or one-dimensionally vetiver-forward or whatever. Actually I find that if I spray enough of this on my pulse points or whatever, rather than applying it as a walk-through cloud, the performance is quite adequate anyway. If the sillage were noticeably stronger, I'd probably not consider wearing this in the summer, as I'm not inclined to wear old-school woody scents then. This formulation at least has a kind of aqueous--I don't just mean watered-down--quality that ought to work for the summer. In that sense, the fact that this formulation is perhaps not as strong as some others probably adds to the product's versatility and might be considered positive. I honestly get annoyed by what often seem like reactionary and sometimes even snobby remarks to the effect that this or that old formulation is better, that this or that new one is a travesty and so on. For one thing, I imagine that a lot of users have old bottles of perfume that has gradually intensified through evaporation, so that what people are eulogising are sometimes not actually the older formulations as sold. Also I just don't get the whole tendency to think that a perfume shouldn't change, that the original is inherently the best and so on. That's no fun for users who don't have access to older formulations, which they might not even like. Anyway I don't see many people saying that computers and operating systems should have stopped developing, say, 35 or 40 years ago. What makes perfume any different? I don't get it. Don't like a current formulation? Then buy something else. First World problems par excellence. I really like this stuff.

This was my signature scent for many young years. It was also my very first fragrance. My sister gave me this for my 16th birthday and bought it in down town Montreal at Birks's jewelery store . Nobody else carried it ...this was 1987!! This was new from 1984!! Van Halen. Motley Crue , the return of Deep Purple's classic line up, 80's metal and MTV / Much Music ,videos, old school rap, beatboxes, break dancing. Neon colors...yep those 80's. No cel phones. No airbags in cars. No GPS no internet!!! (not for the masses anyway) I had just started clubbing and met new friends at trade school to be an automechanic (we weren't technicians yet in 87). It got compliments easily and was clean and refined when everyone was wearing AZZARO DRAKKAR BLUE STRATOS etc. This is a lemony fresh smoky incense vetiver . To me it ignited a taste in incense tinged scents (Boss in Motion). It was fresh enough to be clean but had that smoky incense to make it masculine and dare I say seductive...at that age. It has a refined quality in the blend. It's probably dated now but apart from Malizia Uomo I never smelled anything close to this. I'm biased due to my history with it and haven't worn it in forever. There's a place in my soul drenched in almost 3 bottles and 15 odd years of wearing this. I have to love it. I wore this until my early 30's exclusively and went through 3 bottles . I still have a 3rd of the last one and might get another after going through Malizia uomo. My best bud and I would hang in the strip clubs. Not abnormal being in Montreal . WE met many great women and one night one of them liked my Dunhill and I asked her to guess what it was and she said Malizia...when I finally sampled Malizia years later I completely understood how similar they are...frighteningly so. I got a bottle. I will put forward Dunhill Edition is a more refined scent. I shot some in the box the other day and got a strong connection feeling to my early life. Wow.

The human psyche is an interesting beast. I remember traveling to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico in the late 90's and loving how quaint and quiet it was. My friend, whose family used to go there in the 1970's, said it had become horribly overcrowded and he couldn't stand it anymore. The lesson is that we are hardwired to think that things were better "back then", although in many cases, they may have been. All of this is a preamble to say that I have never tried the vintage juice, but as a lover of classic fougeres, this one, even in its "new" formulation, is very good. It is along the lines of Azzaro Pour Homme, but with more a substantial dose of clove/nutmeg, and significant carnation, oakmoss and fir but less warm tonka. Yes, it has a nice bite to it. Yes it is very masculine, very old school. If you don't like fougeres, check this off your list. If you do like fougeres, especially traditional ones, you really need to try this. Along with Azzaro PH and Paco Rabanne PH, this gem shows that you can get a stunning fragrance for around $25, that you don't need to pay triple figures for Tom Ford, Creed or Chanel if you are looking for fougeres. I love clove and nutmeg, and they are folded into a classic fougere structure beautifully. The lemon, bergamot and lavender are expected, but all executed with a deft hand. In fact, virtually every element in the note listing actively contributes to the scent, as well as some things that aren't listed, such as patchouli. I think you have to be at least 40 to really appreciate this, though some younger "old souls" could really enjoy this as well. Also, this is pure fougere, so the references to Cacharel (which is more of a chypre) are misleading, though they do share the clove/nutmeg accord. Longevity-wise, I get 8 hours with 6 sprays to chest and shirt. Projection is moderate, though, so this works great for the office, date night, formal or jeans. Really versatile as to season as well.

I've seen many Dunhill fragrances in the stores but have never owned any. However, I'm curious about its releases of the 80s and 90s particularly 'For men', 'Edition' and 'Burgundy'. So, when I saw a 100ml bottle of Edition going for US$15, I simply couldn't resist. I was really expecting great things after reading the overwhelmingly positive reviews about this fragrance here. People simply love this fragrance. On unboxing my purchase, I was a little disappointed with the presentation. The designs of the bottle and cap are distinctive and elegant but the cap felt very light and plasticky. Not a major issue but I can imagine the vintage products would have had a solid heavy cap. When I removed the cap, I noticed that the metal atomizer head is quite crudely attached to the bottle. It looked quite naked and unfinished. An attachment to hide the fold of the metal to the bottle would have made the presentation look perfect. I'm not complaining given the low price that I paid but it's a great pity that this stunning bottle design isn't given the respect that it deserves by the makers. As for the scent, well what more can I say that's not already said here. It's truly one of the most intoxicating, addictive, alluring, romantic, seductive,........fragrance that I've come across. It's amazingly complex with sweet, spicy, aromatic notes playfully swirling around me and delighting me through the day. Performance and longevity are absolutely remarkable. Two days after wearing it, I rushed back to the store to get a few more bottles as I decided that I'd never ever want to run out of it. Three of my friends after smelling it on me immediately went and got a bottle each. It's really that good. A 9 out of 10 for this great scent.

Dunhill Limited Edition is like old baseball glove of my younger days. There's something about it you just don't want to give up untill there's none leftover. After many years later, I was going through a store that had some discontinued fragrance's and there it was a 100ml bottle which I wasted no time and bought it at a really good price. Now about this PHENOMENON fragrance, K1 hit it on the nail....it's different. This juice has depth with herbal/woodsy notes with a touch of bergamot which is sinfully naughty when you want to tempt attention and it will do that !!!! The heart of this frag comes from nutmeg with floral notes of lavender and jasmine. This fragrance really becomes desirable from oak moss, virginia cedar, and fir....a really masculine woodsy aromatic scent being luxurious. Both amber and tonka bean adds to the warmth of this frag making it ABSOLUTELY nothing like anything else in the market...a real MASTERPIECE from Dunhill. Longevity and Silage are EXTREMELY high-quality. Overall opinion, Believe me when I tell you, if you want a fragrance which is considered THE BEST of Dunhill, Limited Edition is for you!! If you ever find it you'll definitely understand what I mean that this fragrance is definitely unique and deserve the accolades. Thank you Dunhill for the AMAZING fragrance....10/10. This is a review of the Vintage Edt made in Holland bottle as my previous review was for the current made in Germany Edition. Back in the day they had Edt splash versions which is what I have. On first application you have the citrus with the cloves and nutmeg. And over the course of ten hours or so it develops with many notes coming and going. You have a bit of rubbery leather, vetiver, geranium, oakmoss, cedar, florals etc etc. It's so complex! It's a discreet fragrance but a persistent one in that you will be able to smell it over it's long life. The balance is beautifully done with the clove been kept in check by the other notes. It's a very beautiful classy complex scent and imo probably the very best scent Dunhill has done. When you have experienced the vintage you can only be saddened in what they have done to this in it's current formulations. They have basically gutted the complexity and removed a lot of notes. Basically it's now a watered down tepid citrus and nutmeg scent with a overload of clove that's gone in three to four hours. And this is the made in Germany bottle, I hear the made in USA bottle is even worse. If you can find a vintage bottle it's well worth it as it's a marvel to experience.

What a lovely classic men's fragrance. So refined, sophisticated, and luxurious without smelling dated or haughty. Tobacco is not listed in the notes, but I definitely get a very nice warm, sweet, slightly ashy tobacco feel. Nutmeg is the main player, supported nicely by vetiver, oakmoss, cedar and fir. This smells much more expensive than it's price tag suggests. Unfortunately, it's been reformulated multiple times and the performance has definitely suffered. In my experience I'm lucky to get 6 hours of longevity with maybe an hour of light projection. I have a couple of suggestions to help with this. 1. This can be layered with a fragrance booster or a similar fragrance with better performance. The only one that comes to mind is Afnan tribute blue, I would go one spray Afnan to two sprays Dunhill. It does the trick for me. 2. If you live in the EU there is an alternative to this fragrance, it is called Nerouno by Montegrappa. It performs much better and smells very similar. It is impossible to get in the US though. Go figure In any case I still think Dunhill Edition is quite worth the money, try it out.

I got my splash bottle of this blind but cheap, right before it started getting harder to find. I think this may be the best straightforward spicy soap smell I've ever encountered. It smells a little old-fashioned to me but in an extremely respectable, non-outdated way. There's enough soapiness about it to make it clean but not slimy-residue-on-your-skin soapy. It's a really nice office scent but it's not as utterly banal as a lot of other "safe" ones...a sort of compromise between subdued office and richly formal. It makes me feel like a guy who's serious and smart at work, and wants to allude to a traditional professionalism without giving up the ability to loosen up a little and be candid with coworkers. It's really too bad that it was discontinued...others in its family are still fairly good but borderline too sweet (I'm looking at you, Bois du Portugal!). Hopefully 1 oz will last me a while. Zirh Ikon is the best substitute I've found, albeit weak, but still cheap enough to just spray heavily. The Poor Man's BdP, Pierre Cardin, is stronger and less sweet...another good cheap sub.

Thumbs up to cvaile's review below, my thoughts exactly. Has to be one of the most inoffensive scents I have come across, that is not to mean that it has no character, far from it. Edition is subtle, warm yet fresh, it will give the impression that you are not wearing a cologne but have just walked out of the shower. Also from reading about problems with the longevity (mine is also made in the USA) personally I do not get that. After applying after a shower I still smell it at least 8 hours later, maybe it just reacts well with me. To be honest I have yet to come across a Dunhill that I even feel neutral towards, I find them to be well made (the bottles especially are beautiful in their simplicity) and perfect for when you are socialising or at the office as they tend to be restrained yet classy. Dunhill Edition is probably aimed at a mature (30+) market but I think a young guy would stand out as having class by wearing this at something like a job interview. Edition is slowly becoming one of my favorites :)

Dunhill Edition is a beautiful woody aromatic fragrance. It opens with pine, oak-moss, cedar, vetiver and some citrus notes. A somewhat old school yet fresh opening. As it dries-down the geranium, lavender, jasmine come through and blend very nicely to create a nice elegant accord. The nutmeg is in the background adding a little spiciness and the citrus notes also persist. This classic masculine scent is my favourite from the house of Dunhill and I like it even more than the more recent and popular Dunhill Icon. Performance on my skin is good, it lasts most of the day and has moderate projection. Dunhill Edition is elegance and refinement in a bottle. It's probably more suited to warmer months but I think you can get away with it any time of the year and it is fairy versatile. I love the barbershop genre and Dunhill Edition is one of the favourite barbershop scents in my collection. Great scent profile, good performance, good value for money and versatile; everything a good mens fragrance needs to be. 5/5.

Got a free bottle from my dad, who purchased roughly 6 bottles upon hearing it was discontinued long ago. He has used 2, and then he had the thought that he bought fakes and hasn't touched the collection since, which has been sitting at home for ages now. While I may be misguidedly reviewing a fake, this is the platonic ideal of a gentleman's fragrance, perhaps because my dad wore it through my childhood. My mom also said that she met my dad wearing this one and she was extremely attracted to him (gross, but also, great insight). It is classy, with a sexy edge. Fresh in the beginning some citrus punch, with a serious dry down of tonka and cedar, very prominent. It doesn't dry down as fast as others for me. Admittedly doesn't last as long as I wish it did (could be the fake) but also I have had similar experiences with other fresh colognes. Love it. Gentlemanly, classic, timeless. A beast. I dont want to overwear it because I dont want to lose the bottled memory of my dad. Who said it smells like ashtray?

Well my perception is going to be a little skewed as its been over twenty years since I have smelled this. The old formulation opened with a fresh spicy citrus which was quite strong then it got woody and mossy in the dry down. It was strong and the topnotes were more sparkling and spicy. The new reformulation seems very muted and light in comparison. The topnotes do not seem as spicy or as strong as I remember and this one seems to be more herbal than I remember too. It seems like a "diet coke" version of the glorious eighties version, maybe its my memory. I like it as it still has that classic gentleman's old school spicy citrus/woody character but it smells like it has been watered down compared to the eighties version. I hate what they have done to a lot of the classic eighties fragrances as todays versions are a pale reflection to the glory of what they should be. Eighties original formula: 9 out of ten. Modern Reformulated formula: 7 out of ten.

Since the summer temps have eased from sweltering to breezy and manageable, I reached for this subtly spiced treat with perhaps a premature anticipation of autumn. Dunhill Edition has what I perceive to be this progression: lemon and lavender at the top, nutmeg and clary sage in its heart, vetiver and woods in its base. It reads as respectable, dignified even, designed for a cufflinks and scotch kind of man, shoes always polished, Longines watch, twinkle in the eye. It is one to wear for time well spent in a smoking lounge, exploring the stacks of a favorite bookstore, or under a large sycamore tree with a friend. It isn't pushy, doesn't overpower the conversation, but it does have a titillating skin scent into its dry down, a rugged exhale, if you will. It's worth noting that the version I own, an earlier formulation made in Holland (when the Dunhill logo still had a dot on its "i"), is the one recommended to me by those in the know.

My dad always told me that he had a dunhill fragrance back in the day and it was the best tobacco fragrance he ever smelled. After some searching, I finally found this and showed it to him. He's reaction said it all. What an amazing fragrance. Spicy, clean and a little floral with a realistic ashy tobacco in the dry down. It just smells dapper and fresh at the same time. It's got that signature shaving foam/barber fougere smell. It’s another one of my favourites to wear right after a shower. In terms of performance, it’s on the lighter side projection wise but the longevity is definitely decent. Overall, I really like the scent profile and the pricing is good so no complaints. Only issue I see is that it’s currently really hard to find. Took me so long just to get this bottle. Very happy to finally smell this amazing perfume and I will have it in my collection forever.

I had the original around 1986 bought from Shepherd’s Bush market, and yes it was genuine. I loved it then and it wasn’t considered old man or mature scent by anyone I know. I’ve just taken delivery of a new bottle after I saw an offer I couldn’t refuse - 100ml for £21 Instant throwback to the 80s - unmistakably Dunhill and I cannot tell if it’s different from the original from memory alone, if it is then it’s near identical. However, my first thought after smelling was how similar it is to Cacharel. I had this many years ago but at the time, I wasn’t thinking about how similar that was to Dunhill... anyway, Dunhill Edition is definitely smoother if I really think about it, and nicer. You can’t not like this, it’s a very friendly office-safe frag that might get you compliments. At the current price of it, you can’t go wrong

Citrus, woody and green notes..... What more could one ask for? This is a timeless classic, and a throwback to the ‘80s, yet it does not age. How is this even possible? The initial whiff is intoxicating, and it only gets better as it dries down. Amazing value for money too. The only problem I have with it is that this new watered down version is such a disappointment. The original was absolutely amazing, but now we have to make do with this. So I guess the answer will be to reapply it every 3 hours, which can be a pain. Perfect for the cooler months and for summer evenings. This sachet will continue to remain one of my favourites. It could even make it as a niche fragrance, if the original formulation had been allowed to remain. I would have scored it higher, but for the poor longevity. Rating: 8/10

I finally got my hands on the Dunhill edition. Oh man! i cannot expalin how nostalgic i am, right now. This scent brought back so many beautiful memories of my childhood. God has been very kind to let me experience that feeling, those days, those moments once again in this lifetime. The smell opens up with a nice rubbery note and the fragrance becomes so sexy after dry down that i feel aroused, bounded and captivated. The new composition is actually a flanker to the original one that i had 26 years ago but neverthless the feel is intact. I would suggest all men to have this permanently in their collection. You will never go wrong with this, be it day, night, office, party, home, gatherings, anywhere. Just anywhere guys. Its a sure shot real pantydropper.

This is a great masculine, subtle scent. This is an example of a scent that might prompt people to think "he smells great" rather than "his cologne smells great." This does do better for me in cooler weather, and it would make a fantastic office scent but overall I prefer to wear it casually on the weekends or for home use (where I will reapply quite often as my fiance loves it on me). I also find it a good, reliable travel scent that never fails to get me compliments from friends, family and strangers alike. Elegant, soothing, complex yet approachable, extremely versatile by day/nigh/casual/formal and a STEAL at current prices.

Beautiful fougere rendition! At first I lamented over the lackluster performance, but it has improved significantly over the last few months. This isn't a beast fragrance in any way. It's a respectful gentleman of a fragrance & sits politely close to the skin. The two main pillars for me here are nutmeg & bergamot, while the rest of the notes play a complementary role. When I inhale strongly I can smell sage & cyclamen, but the other notes are either too discreet or too well blended for me to identify! It's a fresh aromatic choreography that would fit best for Spring, Autumn & the cooler summers up in the Northern Hemisphere.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 046 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased June 2017 I remember having something like this as a kid in high school. No idea why it made such a nostalgic impression on me upon acquisition but it took me back decades. I smelt like a bad motherfucker back then, nobody had what I had. Boys were boys and I was above all that. I'll have to combine this with Remy Latour Cigar and see if I can make that Tusk deodorant that I so sorely miss because there's something in those 2 scents that remind me of that amazing bastard of a deo. Batch: March 2016.

Nice 80's office scent. Strong nutmeg, supported by lemon and fir, with an interesting vetiver/moss drydown, nearly giving the impression of smokiness. Great projection in the first hour, and then becomes moderate. If you double layer it, you'll get a beastly projection in the first couple of hours! Not groundbreaking, but very wearable (unlike Bogart's office powerhouses) and good bargain (blind buy - $22 gift box with 3.4oz edt, 3oz shower gel and 3oz aftershave balm). Very pleasant, but Cacharel Pour L'Homme dooes it better, according to my nose. Will enjoy my bottle though! Fall/spring days, 30+

I rank this fragrance undoubtedly among my top 10 perfumes of all time. The old formulation is superior and radiates sophistication, while the new version is still a beautiful choice. Although the performance is very poor, you need 10+ sprays at least For me, this doesn’t harm its charm (Remember that this perfume is affordable). It’s a classy fougere that truly stands out. I firmly believe that this scent smells even better on smokers. Just imagine spraying it in a smoker's car—it must be nothing short of phenomenal! I’ll be writing a more in-depth review soon.

Whoever gets smoky notes from this has an unusual sniffer... or needs to gets his nose checked. This is a fresh, spicy, clean vetiver based fragrance and it's perfect for spring and summer rainy days. It's an amped up Malizia Uomo Vetyver which also is very fresh and clean smelling. But if you find today's Malizia very weak this is the solution! Dunhill Edition is one of the best values out there and a must try if you like your vetivers light but yet woody, clean, soapy and fresh. It's a legend and should be in every serious collection.

Floral and spicy... Sweet and unappreciated... Not in demand anymore so bargain in price... Almost forgotten... In the 80s/90s, maybe I did not love you quite as much as I should... your smell is just intoxicating!!! You aged, yes you are an old lady now... Your performance is not like it used to be, but I still love you... If you were made by Creed, Amouage or Parfums de Marly, they would be talking about you every day... Dunhill Edition Alfred Dunhill This Dude from Dunhill is already 40 years old. But he still smells good like a good old barbershop guy and doesn't seem old. Still available for inexpensive as many places and I think any guy who likes such Dna, old school classic barbershop scents and such notes will need to keep a bottle in his inventory and use it every now and then. I had used this before in my younger days and missed it so got me a bottle from Fragx to keep and use at times. Great scent for those who likes this dna.

If you are looking for an aromatic fougere from the 80s that has aged gracefully, Edition is a great choice. It features the beautiful soft spiciness of nutmeg over the traditional fougere base of carnation, citrus, lavender and other aromatics, moss, and tonka. There is something so comforting and inviting about this mixture. It is masculine but not so loud and invasive like some of the other powerhouses from this era. It wears like a vintage sweater or smoking jacket. Superb!!

Much like Cacharel Pour Homme with its topnotes of citrus and lavender and prominent nutmeg, spice and wood notes. Dunhill Edition is a bit stronger on the woods and spices, and longer lasting, and manages to strike the perfect balance of strong and subtle. Refined and distinguished, yet has a hint of menace beneath its suave surface. I didn't discover this one until the early 90's, but its been one of my favorites ever since.

I bought the made in usa bottle yesterday and i am sooooo disappointed what have you done to it?! The opening is appalling, the longevity is terrible. Overall the scent feels tremendously subdued compared to the made in Germany tester bottle. As others have noted, this is a perfectly blended masculine scent. A terrific fragrance of professional presence and purpose, definitely one of my most favoured work scents. Never knew I liked clove so much until I really began to appreciate Dunhill Edition. May take some time to get used to, but when you do it'll feel like a second skin.

This takes me back! Edition is so unique, green soap like, herbal and has a maturity about it but very odd at the same time. I'd completely forgotten what it smelled like until I found it again recently...I need it in my life...it's incredibly smooth and delivers all notes in equal measure like a symphony of loveliness. Great stuff!

I love a fougere and they can come in many different forms however something like this is too me a simple version of what i feel is a good fougere. the nutmeg is a lovely touch and stands out just enough to give it a unique touch without smothering the freshness you get from these types of perfumes. Love it

My 1st two purchases of this gem were in 90s. Recently I bought the same & found the current version has performance deteriorated. Longevity is only approx 4 hrs, after which it's only skin scent Except that, reformulation doesn't affect the Fragrance DNA & scent profile, which are charming and refreshing.

Simply stated, this is my favorite scent ever. There is only one (minor) problem with it--it should last longer and have greater sillage. Otherwise, as close to perfection as I've ever smelled in a fragrance. I often pick up the bottle just to smell it because it makes me happy.

Dunhill Edition is a masterpiece. You can wear it anytime of: the year, the day. Sweet, aromatic, woody, little bit smoky, masculine. Respect to Dunhill house that have managed to provide us masculine fragrances because we got tired by those unisex crap of modernity.

I bought this in the year 2000 & still have 1/3 of it..fantastic smell..only will use it for special occasions..scent 8/10 longevity 9/10...sillage 9/10, an '"A' list Frag...can't get this in my country anymore..so goin to save the rest of bottle. Classic !

One of the best male fragrance in the 20th century. I've always wanted a fresh product but with the same exact formula as it was in the 90's. Although there are many new fragrances on the market, this one still kicks! For it deserves 10/10

A nice everyday spring/summer juice with 6 to 7 hours of longevity. Similar to Oscar For Men (which is better IMO). Citrus, clove, some sweetness with fir and vetiver mingled of my skin. A winner and safe blind buy due to pricing... Enjoy!

Timeless fragrance for men, the scent never wears out. I bought a bottle just couple of days ago surprisingly scent still the same i had back in the 90's. I must say and will always adore this dunhill creation. It deserves 10/10 score

Legendary, very unique, rare and definitely a masterpiece. Took me years to find, I saw it on sell in an online store, didn't hesitate to buy it. Everything seems to be right, flowers, lemon and vetiver. 10/10 for this work of arts.

A lovely spicy/floral fragrance with a good longevity and character. As stated above, there seems to be clove in here but this is a great blend of notes. Another excellent Dunhill scent for men.

very beautiful fragrance. Green , earthy vetiver, slight bitterness. soapy This was a blind buy and I am sniffing it 15 min. after application. Very distant relative of yatagan caron and pasha.

Superbly downplayed slightly sweet green floral that leaves a wonderful and magical cloud of aroma behind you wherever you walk. The longevity is very good for a fresh scent too. Lovely stuff.

Fantastic classy fragrance for the price, a missy citrus fragrance with a pleasant smoky cigarette note in the background. Gorgeous and a steal for the price.

Just bought a new one and I can't believe the 1984 vintage is back!Not like the 2-3 years previous production. Thank you dunhill. I'm so happy. 10/10
