Dunhill

This juice is Dad Rock in a bottle! I Love it! I never could have imagined that I could instantly sport the dry down of English Leather but this fragrance does just that. Alfred Dunhill Cologne is a powdery leather slightly floral composition that is rich and calming to wear. It wears like something post shave or shower after a long day's work, much like what my father sported after working on the docks of the San Francisco Bay Area. This just reminds me of my dad scrubbing up after work and taking me out with him to finish last minute errands before the sun went down. We would be in his car listening to Tom Petty, The Traveling Wilburys and Paul Simon while stopping to pay a water bill, picking up homemade tortillas from my grandma or simply just getting some Dairy Queen. The car would be filled with his aftershave that would waft up occasionally from his leather jacket. These were great times and of course turned into a scent memory. The Dad rock reference is not to say that this fragrance is dated or for an older crowd or someone who is a "father". I actually would recommend this fragrance to anyone in the 30 and up crowd. This is a scent that can be worn in the office or out and works best in cooler seasons. Alfred Dunhill Cologne can be worn when dressing up or down and at its current price is easily full bottle worthy. Give Alfred Dunhill Cologne a few sprays when the calm and cool needs to be restored after grinding and surviving through another day at work.

This is the most masculine & elegant scent from Dunhill period! Not tacky, nor cloying, nor too metrosexually sweet & passe as desire, desire blue. With the exception of "Fresh" by Alfred Dunhill cause it reminds me of Fahrenheit by Dior except more citrus & fresh with less petroleum & its for day wear. And I have not smelled Black yet so Im not knocking that one. I have been looking for that one Dunhill i would love & buy cause Dunhill keeps intriguing me & I see them everywhere I go, I like his style & his British gentlemens man cave looking stores & he is classic & refined so i dont want to accept that he doesnt have a nice luxurious timeless scent under his roster & I found it with this Dunill Fragrance. I just kept disregarding his fragrances & this one cause it kept showing up in discarded bins at ross & marshalls. But alas, I took a chance & got this one at marshalls for 20 bucks & its mine & i love it. Its an attractive luxurious bottle. It is very nice, fresh, spicy, soft and with a powdery flower yet manly boozy-like scent. Awesome for date night & cuddle time. And finally not a teen scent like the other dunhills. I'm glad its not popular (shame though) cause its a scent people wouldnt be wearing around me & they keep complimenting & asking what im wearing. I simply say: "I forgot...I have too many fragrances & sprayed anything on" lol

A refined, understated under-rated classic. A great example of a 'masculine' floral done right and one of Dunhill's finest. I dislike it when people categorise fragrances as 'old fashioned' and start banging on about how dated they are. 'My Grandad would wear this' is not a sufficient critique of a fragrance (maybe your grandad had excellent taste? In reality, there are classic examples of great quality in all genres, classical music did not become irrelevant when Synthpop came along, Laurel and Hardy didn't stop being funny when the Carry On films began and fish and chips did not become outdated when haute cuisine became fashionable. In short, when something is good, it remains so regardless of the passage of time. Dunhill by Alfred Dunhill might have one foot in the recent past, but it remains absolutely relevant to anyone who isn't so quick to relegate a fragrance to the realms of belonging only to 'old men' without taking time to appreciate that genuine class never ages, nor does it go out of style.

2nd go w/ Dunhill. 1st was Desire Red... .That original formulation with the 🍎-vanilla and light teakwood combo was awesome. The reformulation still has the classic scent profile; absolutely the SAME throughout the years. But, has significantly became weaker(longevity & sillage)/less ummmph & density. Back to Dunhill Man. Fell in love with it the first time I smelled it. With that dominant soft powdery, floral and light citrusy teamed up with musk... And has ALWAYS been a part of my rotation, all seasons. Light and soft enough for summer too. Just use a couple/few less sprays. Now there are people, with their own opinions which I respect, that say it's either too generic or dated/for an older gentleman. To me, Dunhill Man just smells heavenly.... Overall Dunhill Man is classy, clean, powdery and smooth. Longevity and sillage are decent. And the price point to quality is top notch ... My only gripe is that they've never produced a 100, 150 or 200ml sized bottle since it was released back in '03

This is one of those perfumes that actually, you do not smell every day. A fine compination of floral notes, spices and leather makes this a masterpiece and trylly unique. The longevity is above average and the scent very refined, classy, mature and elegant. Mostly I get geranium and leather with lavender and tonka. I do not see any lemon if i remember. In the middle notes, the florals start to come up with the presence of iris of course. It gives you some powderiness but in any case, is a modern and does not smell like an old man. The geranium is similar to the one in Trussardi Uomo latest edition but is much better fragrance generally. Definitely, for a man above 30-35 although it is not an old smelling fragrnace, it is just mature and classy.

I have an original bottle from 2003 in my collection, and it still smells great and impresses. It's an interesting floral scent with a masculine presentation. It has an intoxicating hook that doesn't smell like too much that I've encountered. It's hard to describe, but the floral notes remind me of a nice shaving cream, and then there's a cherry-boozy hook set over it. I think Xerjoff Mefisto Gentiluomo quietly copied this and hoped that no one would notice or mind! Compare the notes and consider the praise that the Xerjoff receives -- this Dunhill really flies under the radar. This is a well-kept secret.

What an absolute hidden gem! It has a timeless, effortless aura to it. I'm so glad I sampled this and pulled the trigger on a full bottle. It's smooth, foamy, barbershop clean done to perfection, and it performs and projects better than half the fragrances in my collection at less than half the price. Dunhill's marketing is a little confusing. There is "Dunhill for Men" and "Dunhill" (this one) which I've also seen called "Dunhill Man". Look for the bottle with the atomizer off to the side and brown juice. Amazing stuff!

i have about 20 colognes, and i must say, this one is my all time favorite, that stands out. each time i wear it i always get compliments. there is something different and unique about this! very nice smell that lasts all day. got a classical scent to it, with some modernity mixed in it. and i love the bottle! looks like a cigarete packet. oh, and that cap. i just love to hold the cap, and feel it, and love to put it back on the bottle... definately my favorite.

Not a review, just a comment. Bought the bottle with the after shave, the one now available at discounters, and after opening, noticed the juice was light brown, not dark brown like the old bottles I have. Smell it and it's similar, but toned down, more alcohol at the top and not as smooth. Made a comparison of the bottles when I got home and.....now it's made in the USA, old ones were made in France. Here we go again, reformulated!!!. Tssss

A must have for the serious collector, Very unique and masculine. Took me A few time to really appreciate it. Now its A staple in my collection. Alpa scent, lasts all day on me. A comforting power fragrance, it has A calming effect on me. Females REALLY like this........ Again, A very Formal distinguished Power fragrance for the serious Alpa Male only. 10/10

This is a gem! A tresure! This is seduction! I don't know how this is lost... For men or for woman, is just amazing! I dont know how to describe, this is the best parfum in the world for men!! And i like it so much that i wear it too! I guess if i find someone wearing this perfume, i'll be closer just to feel the fragrance and warch who is he...

Warm, spicy, comforting, distinguished & deep; just a few words that spring to mind. To me the sillage & longevity are pretty good. It lasts a good 6 hours or more on me. The perfect scent for everyday use; although I suggest that it would also do very nicely at a formal black tie function. I really love this one from Dunhill.

As far a I remember, on me, this one started very soapy and clean, then it moved into a floral but masculine sophisticated middle, and ended with a woody/leather soft accord. It's been a long time, but that is how I remember it. Actually, I liked it a lot. Need to buy a new bottle and come back for a more modern review!.

Successful blind buy for me. Classy and luxurious introvert fragrance. Office friendly and proffesional smelling. Long lasting and gorgeous scent trail that garners compliments. Unique and easy to wear, gentlemanly low profile charm for all seasons and occasions. I wish I have found this gem since it first launched.

The scent (as others have said) is clean, classy, soapy. One of the perfect scents for the office. This would be a great part of a rotation that can run with the likes of D&G pour homme, Prada pour Homme, Prada Amber Pour Homme etc.....very clean all year round scent......the floral is very nice and mature modern.

I don't know why never i encounter this one until now, and this is absoultely the best men perfume. I'm in love immediately, i think this is what a man should smelled like. This is the real treasure!!!! I will get my second bottle as a back up, i'm affraid i will not find this anymore when it's discontinued.

It does not last long, I dont like its opening. The base smell is too beautiful I keep on passing my wrist on my nose to enjoy. It switches from being what I hate to what I love. Only if it was bit beasty and long lasting with its base smell. I will wear it through till winter.

Never got compliments on this one ; yet .. it is quite comforting and clean . Powdery , soapy , soft and makes u feel calm and relaxed . Unisex ? Could be . U can not call it a masterpiece but it is diffinetly different and u do not smell it everywhere .

Very classy, refined, distinguished and masculine. It's spicy, woody and floral with a good sillage - sort of captures your attention. It has loads of character. Dunhill has been expertly blended in my opinion! The heavy bottle is beautiful.

The best dunhill made so far...very classy and unique...the new dunhill for me are not remarkable but this is the difference...if you like geranium, this perfume is for you. It is floral but in a very masculine way.

I love this scent and I used to have the matching deodorant stick for this fragrance which just made the perfect team but Cant buy it anywhere anymore. Can anyone suggest a deo stick that smells similar to this?

Soapy, powdery, plastic-doll fragrance. Has a soft, feminine character to it, probaly the most suitable for cool autumn evenings. Projection is pretty good, and it stays on the skin for a reasonably long time.

a classic and timeless scent by dunhill as always is well balanced and unique! a must to any gents and far from those generic scents common nowdays! a touch of class by dunhill.

It is an amazing , complex , gentlmenly high class scent. A bit sweat and a bit powdery but yet masculin and elegant. Long lasting and good performer

This smells EXACTLY like Mont Blanc's Presence. Simply a cold weather version of it. Stronger, heavier projection and longer lasting. End of story.

Sexy without being obvious, this aromatic, woody, amber scent is the perfect accessory. You will get noticed wearing this.

تو یه سفری یکی از آدمایی که خیلی باهاش اخت گرفتم کسی بود که چندان حرف مشترکی باهاش نداشتم ولی مراوده باهاش برام جذاب بود، دلیلش این بود که کاراکتر داشت و از چیزایی که حرف می‌زد عموما مال خودش بود و خودش به دست آورده بودشون، هرچند خیلی از اوقات با بسیاری از نظرات این آدم زاویه شدید داشتم ولی تو زمونه‌ای که همه آدما کپی پیستی‌ان از ظاهر و قیافه گرفته تا افکار نداشته‌شون اینکه کسی کاراکتر خودش رو ساخته باشه برای من جذابه. دانهیل قهوه‌ای هم یه چیزی تو همین مایه‌هاست، عطر ساختارشکنی نیست (صد البته ازش چنین انتظاری هم نمی‌ره)، چیز عجیبی نداره ولی کاراکتر داره، طرز فکرش کپی پیستی نیست، شاید کاراکتر عجیب و غریبی نداشته باشه ولی برای یه همنشینی معمولی بهتون لذت می‌ده، من اون آدم بالا رو با یه روشنفکر اهل مطالعه یا فیلسوف یا متخصص تو یه حوزه خاص مقایسه نمی‌کردم، این عطر هم باید با هم‌رده‌های خودش مقایسه بشه، نمی‌تونین یه عطر خوش‌قیمت رو با کارای دیزاینری گرون یا عطرای نیش مقایسه کنین. سر جای خودش این عطر از بسیاری از هم قیمتای خودش سرتره، با این قیمت هزاران بار از عطرای اماراتی و فیک و بوهای مضر گرمی و مترویی ارزشمندتره و به نظرم ارزشش بیشتر از قیمتیه که براش می‌پردازین. این عطر با بوی نسبتا تند لیمو و لاوندر باز می‌شه ولی رایحه لیمو تو این کار فراره و اصلا می‌شه به حسابش نیاورد و خیلی سریع رایحه گلی جذابی جاشو می‌گیره که از ترکیب زیبای رز، شمعدونی زنبق و یاسه، میخک هم یه ته بوی اسپایسی و ملایم گرم بهتون می‌ده در پس زمینه این بوی گلی رایحه چرمی هم خودنمایی می‌کنه آکورد چرمی این کار قدرت چندانی نداره و کنار شمعدونی و رز و یاس چرم توی این کار یه حس شیرین می‌ده. این عطر رو به صورت کلی یه کار گلی جذاب مردونه باید به حساب آورد. آکورد چوبی رو هم باید فاکتور گرفت و رایحه چوبی، چندان توی این کار عرض اندام نمی‌کنه. تصور معمولمون از زنبق آکورد پودریه که توی این عطر هم همینطوره و با یه عطر پودری طرفین و حسی مثل چرب شدن پوست با کرم دست بهتون می‌ده، در ضمن این کار تا حدی صابونیه، حس تر و تمیزی می‌ده اما صابونی بودنش طوری نیست که اذیت کننده باشه و به نظرم حتا کسایی که با روایح صابونی ارتباط برقرار نمی‌کنن ممکنه برخورد بدی با این عطر نداشته باشن. فضای کلی کار یه رایحه کلاسیکه ولی رایحه قدیمی بهتون نمی‌ده، اگه سنتون ۳۰ به بالاست با استایل رسمی یا نیمه رسمی، پیرهن و شلوار کتون یا کت تک با تم قهوه ای یا رنگای روشن ملایم به راحتی می‌تونین دانهیل قهوه ای رو بپوشین البته به شخصه برای استایل رسمی نمی پسندمش چون خیلی رایحه سنگینی نداره و مناسب پوشیدن روزانه پاییز و اوایل بهاره نمره من ۶ از ۱۰ نمره برای عموم ۸ از ۱۰ (قیمت خیلی مناسب در کنار کیفیت خوب و رایحه جذاب رو در نظر داشته باشین)

Hmmm A Masculine floral and a good one at that. You dont see too many of those anymore from mainstream designers. Dunhill starts off with the dominant geranium, citrus and lavender notes. Heart notes are all floral, I get mainly the iris which lends a slight powdery feel along with the other floral notes. Basenotes are mainly sweet woody notes, sandalwood, tonka and a slight muskiness. Couldn't detect any leather per se. This smells very similar to the now discontinued Fendi Life Essence, similar Geranium, citrus and sandalwood combination of notes. Dunhill as a fragrance house has been kind of hit and miss for me. I really love Dunhill Cologne, Pursuit, and Edition, kinda like 51.3 and Black, find Desire Red and Blue to be very sweet synth bombs, not for me and Dunhill Fresh and london are generic ho-hum run of the mill. Custom and Pure are next on the list. This one is a good strong like, good projection for the first couple of hours and decent 5 hours longevity on skin with about 4-5 sprays. Would work anytime of the year except summer where I suspect it would be a tad cloying. A really good example of a masculine floral done right. Might not be for everybody but I like it a lot. 8/10.

Like this one a lot. Immediately after application it is a bit alcoholic and vodka-like but this burns off very quickly. Early on it is fresh but woody with a lemon tinge and some masculine florals. There is briefly an almost coconut sweet note as well. It settles into a carpentry workshop/fresh cut wood smell which I like a lot. Smells clean and fresh and has a hint of soapiness to me. Gets a little bit more masculine with a bit of musk and leather later on. Projects well for 5 or 6 hours. By 8 hours it is close to the skin but still there. Almost gone at 10 hours. Very nice. Woody but fresh. Quite a sophisticated feel. Not too heavy or sweet. Could use this anytime except maybe in very hot weather. Could easily wear this formally.

I think I smell the lavender the most. It reminds me the old fashion barber shops when I was a kid, but is classy and with good dry down. Definitely a very masculine fragrance, I don't think a woman could put up with it. I haven't had a Dunhill in a long time since my last Dunhill desire back in the 90's so I wanted to give a try to some of the newer colognes. although this one is not the newest but is ok. I don't think is good for office wear it can be little too strong while is still in the dry down, it is nothing really unique but recognizable. I will try to wear it out to finish it soon and it will just stay in my "I had record" It was a blind buy, not disappointed but not amazed either.

First engagement with the original scent was an ad in Vanity Fair Magazine—it was so astonishingly well-balanced that I bought it right away at Nordstrom’s. SO many compliments—but only from folks who got close enough to appreciate it. Then it was hard to find, and it appeared at TJMaxx, Marshall’s. Uh-oh. Juice was no longer the pale puce color; it was green-brown. Complete disappointment. No sillage, no longevity. A ton of lemon and chemical-geranium. No sandalwood, oakmoss, tonka. Switched to Hermès Terre d’Hermès for day-to-day. But I’d love to find a bottle of the first French assembly Dunhill for Men.

A good basic fragrance. Not much depth, but a good dry down which is more interesting than the opening. Sturdy performance and does change throughout the day. Initial blast of sharp citrus and lavender with strong alcohol dries down to a nice soapy leather scent. Low price, good for winter and autumn/fall. (Summer might call for more citrus or lighter scents.) Can be worn office, formal or night out to dinner, as it isn't overbearing. Can be worn casual if the event is calm and polite- not really a club fragrance, maybe a pub one!

An eBay seller that I frequently purchase from has the presence of mind to increase his business by including samples of different fragrances with every purchase, that is how I first got my nose on this scent. The sample I felt, was amazing, I loved it. That coupled with all the positive reviews made me tracked it down and I just recently bought a bottle. Lemon, lemon, lemon....The sample was just so much better. How can that be? I don't hate it but I don't love it either. Glad it's not expensive.

Dunhill by Alfred Dunhill is a beautiful masculine floral fragrance. A fragrance genre that is sadly a rarity on the shelves today. Classy and refined. Perfect for a nicely dressed, mature gentleman(30+). Certainly garners compliments from the ladies. Performance is moderate. You will definitely smell different(in a good way) compared to today's popular choices flooding the market. I really like this one, it served me well.

It's a nice scent, Elegant, Floral and UNIQUE. This perfume is a linear fragrance with main theme Geranium. A hidden gem with floral notes for men ! It opens up with like fresh spicy and floral notes in the background then dry down is musky woody. This is suitable for the spring, fall and winter. I like Dunhill Alfred Dunhill EDT for Men. Longevity is good. Thumbs Up. Rating : 8 / 10

Nose Note #309 Beautiful lavender-geranium-iris combo. A little sweet - the tonka beans are evident. Interestingly, my wife said she had some body cream that smelled like this. Upclose on skin it can smell a bit weird, but the sillage is nice. To me it somehow translates the color of the juice into the smell perfectly. The color fits.

Picture yourself getting a haircut at your local barbershop on a cool rainy day. This is what I get out of this scent. Like one of the reviewers has mentioned, it has a barbershop like smell to it. I have not smelled this anywhere else. Very pleasant smell. If you like barbershop like scents, try this one, I think you will like it.

I think this is a nice event to wear to bed with a woman after a shower. Not a new woman. But with a woman you already know like your wife or long time gf. She can cuddle up to your chest and not be overwhelmed by strong potentially cloying scents. Not strong enough to wear any other time. Nice scent. But disappointing performance.

Little sweet, nice woody floral. Stays too close to skin. You might not like it first, find it boring but after a while you will notice that it is kinda unique. Nice combination of the notes, masterly blended, none of them dominates the fragrance. I can say that it is very hard to hate this one, it is a very safe wear.
