Egyptian Smoke

Ok, SO HEADS UP! When I recieved Egyptian Smoke and initially sprayed some on, I got a good strong whiff, but couldn't hardly smell much at all after a few seconds, so I sorta over-sprayed thinking it's probably already been reformulated and it was just another "over-hyped" fragrance boasting of great performance, yet NOT delivering.. Oh how wrong I was!! Well, I went over to my mother's house just after I applied it, she and my brother started gagging and said I was choking them out, so obviously this a very strong fragrance bc I almost immediately went nose-blind to it! So ya'll be careful with this BEAST! I later went home and took a nap, woke up a couple hours later and could then smell it quite clearly, Egyptian Smoke is absoulutely BEAUTIFUL! Its quite spicey, but the spice and Rose notes play perfectly together not over-powering each-other. Im also getting a slight smokey sweetness which has to be incense (not in notes list), or the Palo Santo and is just intoxicating to me. I feel that the prominent Rose note helps this fragrance be more unisex "leaning" masculine vs just straight "masculine" and think it would definately be quite sexy/mysterious on a woman as well. I can tell that performace will be no issue because after over 4 hours of wearing it, its still radiating off me preeetty darn well, and I could clearly smell it on the hand I sprayed some on. Now, I do think theres Cumin in this bc my mother mentioned that it smells like "Body Odor", she also said "I hope ya don't wear that to work!" I DO NOT pick up on any BO smell at all, but MOM HATES THIS, Lol! She actually said it makes her stomach turn, I'm sure I just really over did it as I had done around 10 sprays, again bc I thought it was weak, but I was clearly wrong.. I really love this scent, and will certainly be light on the trigger next time (especially around mom) and suggest the same fir anyone reading this..This is a 9 outta 10 scent IMO, and I dont think we need to worry about reformulations with this one "YET"! Thanks to whomever took time read this!😉 ----------------------EDIT--------------------- So I woke up the following day and can still smell it very clearly on my shirt. Id say No more than 6 sprays for an evening out, and maybe 3 to 4 for work or during the day😉

This is a scent that I did thorough research on. I am trying to become more disciplined in my buying of fragrances with less blind buying. I first saw on YouTube. The name and bottle caught my eye. Then after watching and reading several reviews, I picked up a 2 ml sample. I tried it and surprisingly I liked it upon first impression. This is because typically I can't stand rose-dominant men's fragrances. Spent more time with it and I began to enjoy it even more (borderline love it). So much so that I bought a full bottle. I won't drag this review out so I will just say this; it is rose-dominant but throughout all phases of the scent the rose shares the stage strongly with another note. In the opening, the rose shares the stage with the tea note taming the rose with the spiciness of the pink pepper supporting it. I feel the tea note stays throughout the life of the fragrance in the background. I don't pick up ginger. In the mid, the rose shares the stage with the cacao. The tobacco is faint to me but noticeable only in the mid to me. In the dry-down, it sweetens with the vanilla and Tonka along with a slightly dry woodsy facet. Well blended throughout the fragrance. In a nutshell, it is Floral, calming, spicey, dry, and just the right amount of sweetness for me. Without a doubt, inspired by Middle Eastern perfumery and the name fits. I applaud Dunhill for stepping out of the proverbial designer perfumery box. 8.25/10

First of all, this is a 10/10 imo, beautiful, deep, rich and SO attractive, nothing I would ever change! And exceptional quality for the price, smells way better than most designers. Do not trust the notes on this one, they are liars. This is not a tabacco frangrance, this is very ambery, rich boozy fragrance. Makes no sense I know but trust me, this smells like if rose whiskey was a thing. The rose is dark, masculine, sensual and is very damp in such a beautiful and romantic smelling way that makes it feel so deep and lush. The tabacco some how comes across as a mix of rum and whiskey, but sweeter, ambery-er, but much less alcoholic. It gives me the same liquid-amber feeling as those notes is what I mean. And finally vanilla and tea round it out and give it a lot of sweetness, without making it immature or youthful. Definetly a grown up "date night" scent. I believe every man should own a rose fragrance, they just have this beautiul grown up, mature, romantic feeling when they're done right. And this is done right! Will forever be one of my favorites of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine you're in a high ceiling large study hall, old heavy wood furniture and the smell of books mixing with the woods. Tweed jackets and the smell of unsmoked pipe tobacco mixing with the aroma coming from hot tea and a large vase filled with damp red roses. It's a warm sunny spring day and trees are budding bringing that light aromatic breeze from the windows. As it dries down, that morning turns into the evening of that same day, same room, with a fireplace lit, the sweet tobacco is lit, and brandy in warm stemmed glasses replaced the tea. But don't forget the roses, even if it's dark. Nothing smells like it, I have a backup, as this has been discontinued. This is a unique creation with exceptional quality. We need more of this and less bubble gum.

I am a lifelong professional woodworker/furniture maker. This smells like all of the best aspects of so many woods I have milled. There's a little burned cedar from machining smell and old rough sawn doug fir in a warm house attic from the early 1900's comes in big for me. A little tinge of a hard sap incense smell. Its a little sweet but thats what wood smells like when you have those old or burnt sugars. Today this is hands down my new favorite of the wood smells on the other side of pine types like polo. I would say Versace oud noir is what I find to be in the same realm that I have smelled anyhow. I have a long way to go to be experienced as some as I cannot smell the rose or tea. If you like wood like i've described then this is a no brainer.

Smells like a sugary rose incense stick without any unpleasant animalic notes. Nowhere near as much sweetness s one might expect, the tobacco certainly does not go into the vanilla-like coumarin direction and instead smells like a dry cherry almost and does not particularly stand out. Overall a very dry pleasant rose experience, the palo santo, tea, pink pepper and cocoa really do feel like an ever so slightly sweet smoke. Lots of reviews claiming amazing performance but sadly not true at all for me, I did get a decant so that might be the reason. Strongly recommended, especially if available discounted (I have found it for around 60 euros). But as usual, definitely try on skin first since it might not match expectations.

Ive read some reviews on here which say that the rose note is not noticeable in Egyptian Smoke, but I completely dissagree more. To me this is a fantastic, spicey, masciline-rose fragrance. The smoke is very faint in the form of a slight incense. Ive done around six spritzes of Egyptian Smoke to work and it was just way too much. I find that 2 on the neck and 2 on my shirt are the "sweet spot" as it gives me a very nice, spicey-rose aura wo being overwhelming. The performance is great lasting atleast 7 to 8 hours on skin and next day on clothes, and a nice sillage. A really great 9 outta 10 fragrance (when NOT over done) and my favorite "Men's Rose" frag in my collection. Thanks to whomever took ti.e to read my review!😉

So I trundled into the Dunhill store in Jermyn St to see what all the fuss was about. The bottle is gorgeous, the juice rich in colour. The design is unusual such that you only know which scent you have after you take the cap off. Then spray: Beautiful amber yes, spice yes, smoke no, with really good performance. This is so like CK's Euphoria Amber Gold it's uncanny, the finest 'sleeper' in my collection. But CKEAG is slightly deeper, richer, longer lasting and about half the cost. Egyptian Smoke is still a great fragrance, if I hadnt a bottle of the CK I'd have splashed out, its that good. BTW I don't get the Regent Leather comparison. RL is creamy, almost sweet leather, this is spicy amber. 4/5

***Update*** Purchased Egyptian Smoke a few months ago and its smells SOO AMAZING! This is hands down a "Masculine Rose" fragrance. And my favorite Rose fragrance! I love the spices and what I REALLY appreciate about this fragrance is it's amazing performance. This is probably considered a Fall/Winter fragrance, but I find that if ya take it easy on the trigger (Maybe 3-4 Spritzes tops) it can be worn anytime and even makes a great signature scent bc it'll last all day but NOT be too much while being unique, and its just so pleasant! Now if Im going out on the town Ill crank it up to 6 to 7 sprays and thats -O-Plenty to garner attention for the rest of the evening! My Fave Dunhill hands down!

Just released my review of this on my YouTube: "Rotten Rebel" This to me is a scent that is dominated by a smoky side and a sweet side. The smoke is not your standard tobacco smoke, but a different kind of burned wood kind of smoke and the sweetness feels like something very honeylike. While it is dominated by the smoke and the sweetness, it never becomes too smoky or too sweet and to me this is a fantastic scent that I really, really enjoy. If you like the scent of smoke and honey, then you might enjoy this one. This would easily sell for a higher price if it would have been released by a niche perfume brand. I think it's a fabulous fragrance!

Sweet, Smoky, Sandalwoody Tobacco. Egyptian Smoke (ES) is a mildly-sweet, soft, woody scent of incense and sandalwood. It's like a mix of slightly-sweet incense oil with a soft sandalwood oil. Sandalwoody, incensy, lightly-woody, soft, smooth, mildly-sweet scent. It's probable that what I'm perceiving is a hefty dose of softly-woody tobacco that smell sandalwoody, shaped with another lightly-woody note of tonka beans. The mix is then sweetened and altered a little with vanilla, sweet notes, and cacao pods. ES is one of the best from Dunhill's Signature line. With excellent performance. Cool weather wear, unisex but leans masculine. "Love".

I get a nice rose smoky paper with a little sweetness it is a very nice more mass appealing eastern scent. I like it because it is just different the downside is the performance it is not bad but it does not have the performance of eastern fragrances. I do like that it doesn’t smell like anything I have or tried before. Go 2 more sprays than what you think you need. It is elegant well made and unique in a way. I have Indian Sandalwood and this one and both are great very elegant mature scents for daily use leans masculine.

This is by far the best masculine rose fragrance that I've come across in my travels. The rose is clearly there, but this isn't a very floral smelling fragrance. Instead, it's a very smooth and slightly smoky / slightly sweet woody scent that's blended incredibly well with a rose. This fragrance stands out, but it's not loud or cloying or aggressive. Instead, it very carefully grabs your attention and engulfs you in a magical blend of notes. Dunhill absolutely destroyed with this one.

Honestly, I pretty much blind bought this one for its awesome presentation and kickass name. I couldn't be more surprised with the actual scent! The opening is nice with tobacco, sweetness, and a tinge of rose, but the dry down is probably better than anything I've ever smelled! I'm figuratively blown away! Great projection and longevity, as well. Great job, Dunhill! You knocked this one out of the park! I know it's not a summer scent, but I can't stop smelling this stuff!

Dunhill Egyptian Smoke is a masterpiece. Smoky, honey-like sweetness, tobacco, vanilla. Smooth as silk, yet strong as iron. This is a powerhouse of projection, silage, and longevity. One of those fragrances that continues to remind you of its presence long after most others have disolved into nothingness. Shimmering wafts of smoky sweetness wrap you in warmth and comfort as you move throughout your day. What a stunning elixir. Highly recommended.

Crisp dry smoky woods with just a slight touch of vanilla. It really really reminds me of Dunhill Icon Elite, which shares the smoky woods but lacks the slight touch of vanilla/sweetness. Might be redundant for me to get since I have Icon Elite, but this will be a nice upgrade for when I run out. It's a bit more versatile with the touch of sweetness, and possibly more natural. Both are great tho. Scent: 8.5 / Sillage: 8 / Longevity: 8

In a musty archeological office somewhere in the Near East, the smoke of cigar circles the room and the brewing aroma of tea wafts in the air. Nearby, a stack of old manuscripts sits on a desk whose varnish has peeled off. Its earthy scent lingers. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind barges through the French windows. On cue, the rose garden outside tosses in its presence. This entire scene is what Egyptian Smoke smells like.

Short review, first impressions- Nice, pleasant and slightly atypical for western tastes perhaps, comes off as a rose tea to me. Reminds me of a much less deep version of Mancera Aoud Exclusif, which I also own and love. But that one is more prominent tobacco, labdanum and spices, whereas this is like a more everyday version- still a dry masculine leaning rose in my opinion, but not as heavy in scent or performance.

A 2ml decant is all I needed for me to know that I was going to get a bottle. This stuff is good, especially if you like rose/oud. The oud is smooth, the rose isn't overwhelming, and the tobacco isn't abrasive. There's also a spice, that comes across as cumin or caraway, but not overdone, just enough to add a little background and crank up the sexiness. This is a winner, and could easily be put in a niche bottle.

This is an incredible fragrance. The quality is better than high end designers, performance is great, and the scent profile is beautiful. I have about 180 frags, mostly indie and niche, and this smells specific and unique to me. I love this fragrance. One of the better smelling things that I own. Thick, rich, smoky sweetness and vanilla dance with intense spice and tobacco. Rating: 8.75 Tremendous.

This is well blended fragrance. Dont get me wrong, I dont like rose note at all but here is giving some honey based effect together with tobacco and vanila. And this is for special ocassions- elegant, casual dinner or some evening meeting. Good job Mr Epinette and Dunhill! Edit: the most beautiful part of the fragrance is drydown- completely non-linear and Im sniffing myself every 5 minutes.

And here it is. Again, Jerome knocks it out the park. This scent should be called "definitely DTF" Because ANY male out there vying for attention will get it, from this scent. I can't see how anybody would 'meh' this scent. Soft, almonds vanilla, soft leather, cocoa hints, this is just pure sex in a bottle imo...

At first it smells like Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian with that smoky vanilla and rose. Upon the dry down it gives me a good gourmand vibe similar to Mugler A*Men with that cacao and vanilla mix. Very pleasant to wear in the cooler days, but beware that initial spray as it can be a bit strong like Swiss Arabian.

The opening is perfection: jammy rose wrapped up in aromatic black tea and smoldering palo santo. It lasted about 4 hours before giving way to a pleasant vanilla tobacco drydown. I just read that this has been discontinued. I will definitely be buying a full bottle while I still can.

Gorgeous ambery rose frag, sweet and almost juicy. I’m surprised that this doesn’t have black current or some sort of fruity notes. It’s simultaneously dark and bright. It reminds me of Christopher Sheldrake/Serge Lutens perfumes. Great performance. Nice bottle. Well worth the price.

As someone who can’t wear rose, this is an exception. Wonderful tea, palo santo, tobacco and patchouli blended with jammy rose. Yes, the rose is there, but it’s blended to perfection so it doesn’t stick out like a grandma’s antique powdering table. And for $90 aud. Ridiculously good.

This one is niche quality and scent profile & performance ahead of significantly more expensive fragrances. If you enjoyed Gucci: A Reason to Love; Nishane Favonious etc then this should please you. Green Rose with hints of POAL type profile. Nicely done. Shukran Habibi!

Very good performance for good price. On my skin 6+ hours. If you want smell different this is something for you. Elegant, smoky and tabacco with sweet under tone. You can smell the tea in it. I love this fragrance and you will get lots of compliments from everyone.

The more I wear this the more I love it. I know it shows vanilla as the second most prominent note. I strongly disagree. I get very little vanilla, the rose and tobacco are the stars in this one in my opinion.

It has that oriental Rose/Oud type of scent profile, but more masculine than the usual take on it. Lovely jammy sweet rose, supported by smokey herbal woodiness, and a leathery scent in the background.

Very special fragrance. Its great blend of Black Tea, pink pepper, and mix of Palo Santo & labdanum which gives sweet tobacco-ish scent. Projection and performance is relatively above average.

FYI open the cap from one side first like you're tilting it to avoid damaging it like some people have. Hope this helps!

Smells like lux earl grey tea with honey and milk. I like it a lot, but Agar Wood is still my favourite from this line.

9.5/10. For me, this is smoke/black tea/honey..in the same genre as Amber Gold, which I also have, but different.

Give it over an hour into the dry down and this is the best thing you've ever smelled.

Continuing my time with Dunhill’s Signature Collection, I now move from the refined, tailored atmosphere of Britain into the ancient, incense-filled landscapes of Egypt with Egyptian Smoke, trading green leather and structured aromatics for something darker, richer, and more atmospheric. Where British Leather leaned into freshness and polish, this fragrance suggests a shift toward depth, warmth, and a more meditative character, built around smoke, resins, and softly sweet undertones. The name itself evokes images of burning incense, ancient temples, and desert air thick with warmth and mystery, setting the expectation for a fragrance that prioritizes mood and texture over brightness. On paper, the blend of tea, tobacco, cacao, and resins reads like something both comforting and slightly enigmatic, balancing dryness with sweetness. Let’s see if this one truly captures that smoky, ancient aura once it rises from the skin. Opening: The opening is floral, woody, and aromatic. The primary notes I get are Grasse rose, palo santo, black tea, and cacao, with the rose and palo santo leading. The rose is sweet, jammy, and floral, immediately commanding attention with a richness that is very reminiscent of the rose found in MFK's Oud Satin Mood, carrying that same lush, slightly syrupy quality. The palo santo joins it with a woody, resinous character, bringing a soft, incense-like smokiness that feels more like smoldering wood than anything harsh or ashy. The black tea sits underneath, adding a dry, aromatic, and slightly tannic nuance that leans more herbaceous and grounded than the brighter, cleaner black tea found in Louis Vuitton's Imagination. Lastly, the cacao introduces a subtle layer of dark sweetness, more in line with dry, bittersweet cocoa powder than anything gourmand. The overall composition is highly reminiscent of Oud Satin Mood, though slightly drier and more textured in its presentation. The result is a rich and atmospheric opening where jammy florals, soft smoke, and dry aromatics come together in a refined and slightly mysterious introduction. Dry Down: The dry down is floral, sweet, and warm. The primary notes I get are Grasse rose, vanilla, tobacco, and palo santo, with the rose and vanilla leading. The rose remains a central focus, carrying through that same jammy floral accord from the opening, though it now feels smoother and more rounded. The vanilla rises alongside it, introducing a creamy sweetness that softens the composition and acts as a counterbalance to the richness of the florals. The tobacco emerges clearly at this stage, adding a warm, slightly sweet depth that blends seamlessly with the vanilla, creating an accord reminiscent of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. Finally, palo santo lingers in the background, continuing to provide subtle hints of that smoky, incense-like woodiness, while hints of papyrus add a dry, papery texture that reinforces the overall structure. The result is a smooth and elegant dry down where florals, sweetness, and soft smoke settle into a warm and cohesive finish. Performance: Projection opens strong within the first hour, reaching out at least six feet and establishing a bold presence. Sillage follows closely, leaving a dense and easily noticeable scent trail. After about three to four hours, projection remains unchanged, maintaining that same level of strength, while the scent trail softens slightly but is still clearly perceptible. As the fragrance progresses, performance begins to taper more noticeably. Around the eight hour mark, projection falls to within arm’s length, and the scent trail becomes faint. The fragrance transitions into a skin scent shortly after, resulting in a strong opening followed by a steady and well-paced decline into a softer, more intimate finish. When to Wear: Egyptian Smoke is best suited for fall and winter, where its warm, resinous depth and rich floral character can fully develop in cooler air. It feels most natural in the evening, when its darker, more atmospheric qualities can shine without feeling overpowering. This is an excellent choice for special occasions such as date nights, where its smooth sweetness and elegant composition can feel inviting and refined. It also transitions well into formal settings, carrying a sophistication that fits more dressed-up environments. However, its richness and prominent rose make it less suited for casual wear, and it would likely feel too heavy and expressive for the office. Blind Buy: Egyptian Smoke is not a safe blind buy, primarily due to how prominent the rose remains throughout the entire wear. While it is blended well with the supporting notes, the rose-forward nature of the fragrance may come across as too feminine for some. For those who enjoy fragrances in the style of Oud Satin Mood, this will likely feel very familiar and appealing, making it a safer option within that context. For everyone else, sampling is strongly recommended to ensure the balance of florals, sweetness, and smoke aligns with your preferences. Final Verdict: Admittedly, I’m not typically drawn to rose-forward fragrances. Even with something like Oud Satin Mood, while I can appreciate it as an objectively beautiful composition, it’s not something I would personally reach for. Egyptian Smoke, however, does a much better job of balancing that prominent rose with more traditionally masculine elements like tobacco, papyrus, and palo santo. The result is a fragrance that feels distinctly niche, smoothly blended, and genuinely unisex, while still remaining accessible from a price standpoint. It stands out as one of the most elegant and well-composed offerings I’ve experienced from the Dunhill Signature Collection so far. While it’s not something I would wear regularly, it’s exactly the type of fragrance I could see reaching for on occasion when I want something more refined and expressive. This is one I can definitely see myself adding to my collection. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10 Versatility: Average Compliment Factor: Average Gender: Unisex Value: Good

#558 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Right off the bat I will say I am glad I didn't blind buy this and only purchased a decant. It's not that it's offensive, just that I drink black tea all the time and I really don't need to wear it as a fragrance. It's not the woody density of Darjeeling, or bergamot-laced Earl Grey, nor the smoky aromatic of Lapsang Souchong, but more like the blend of Assam and Ceylon teas you get in an English Breakfast blend that hints at sweetness. In other words it smells like the most boring and mediocre black tea you can drink. Tobacco is just a suggestion here, like someone had lit up a pipe full of Virginia Gold or Sweet Killarney outside the tea house and a hint of the scent wafted in through an open door. I can smell a little of the rose, but it's not a strong note at all. I have roughly half the scents in the "smells like" list, but what this most smells like is Cremo's "Palo Santo." Which is okay, inexpensive, but only cologne in strength. This certainly has better than cologne longevity and projection. Bottom line for me though is this is the kind of scent you'd expect your great-grandfather to be wearing as he sits in the sunshine in his rocking chair, which would be my knock on all the Dunhill scents, even those from this collection that I really like and own. I'd say this is for the 60+ crowd. Grandad juice for sure. Casual, not business wear or date wear.

I've been testing Dunhill's Signature Collection, having purchased samples of all of them except for Mongolian Cashmere which I'm nearly certain I wouldn't have liked based on its description, notes and reviews. I really liked Moroccan Amber but was disappointed with Indian Sandalwood. Egyptian Smoke turned out to be another like. Egyptian Smoke does open with a prominent smoky note but as it dries down it becomes very subtle. If you generally don't like smoky fragrances, don't write off Egyptian Smoke because it isn't mainly a smoky scent. As it dries down, it becomes more woody, slightly sweet and the rose becomes prominent. To me, Egyptian Smoke is a masculine rose fragrance done right. It's really nice and doesn't come across as too floral. Also has just the right touch of sweetness. Performance was the best of the Signature Collection I've tried so far. I got a good 7 to 8 hours of enjoyment. Arms length projection for a good 3 hours. Overall, a winning fragrance - the best overall of the Signature Collection so far. If you are interested in a masculine rose fragrance, I can highly recommend Egyptian Smoke. As for my own collection, I will not be getting a bottle. I already have Zaharoff's Halfeti Black Rose which is the better scent IMO. Update: Changed my mind. Will be getting a bottle of Egyptian Smoke. It's really great!

Heavyweight bottle as usual from Dunhill, paperweights and weight-lifters have got nothing on us Alfred Dunhill frag users! I was quite excited to blind buy this frag but when I acquired it, was a little disappointed to discover that it's basically a sweet if rather exotic Oud. If you like Oud, then this one's for you, as it's very pleasant, as most Ouds are. I would say Egyptian Smoke Alfred Dunhill is very similar to Oud 24 Hours Ard Al Zaafaran! The only bouquet element that stands apart from the Oud is the cloudy sweetness created by crafting grasse rose, vanilla and pink pepper. Papyrus and Palo Santo, which are two strong, dry woods, seem to carry this fragrance along with overpowering black tea, with everything built around them. Egyptian Smoke is an attractive name for what is essentially an Egyptian "type" Oud "type" fragrance! Overall, a pseudo-interesting hotchpotch of earthy elements that form a potpourri of Oud-like bouquets that carry quite strongly on skin or clothing. Not suitable for office or morning wear. Good for a night out, if outdoors a lot.

Just got this in today and holy cow, the opening to me is incredibly sweet. Not really in the sweet way that you’re thinking, a bit different. Almost came off as feminine to me but I gave it time. And the dry down is much much better it’s like honey and tobacco that is pleasing to smell. I reapplied to test the opening again and it was much more tolerable the second time around may be cause I was not use to it the first time I applied. Dry down is stil awesome, I got whiffs of this constantly throughout the day. It’s one of those fragrances that gives you a strong aura. This is good but different. I kinda want to wear this in the club.. just for sh*ts and giggles **after wearing this a few days, I dig it. It’s kind of addicting. It’s a honey and tobacco scent that is alluring. The opening may turn some away cause it’s almost sickly sweet but just give it time.

Subtle date, a touch cacao, a touch honeyed, with a probably too little subtle pipe tobacco. Behind it you can feel the vanillic qualities trying to peek thru and on the longer dry down it becomes more prominent actually making this slightly balsamic and ambery. Nice scent, too low (so far in trying) in projection but I can see where they were trying to go with this line and quality is there but they missed the mark. Valensole is by far the best in this line up despite the fact that it is virtually identical to Eternity EDP I somehow prefer it. I’ll wait to purchase some more on the signature series when it’s on special. Don’t let peoples suggestions for similar scents mislead you... it’s nothing like HOS 001 or Thameen Regent Leather or most listed. If it has a comparable it would be Killian Light my Fire or 18.21 Man Made.

Key takeaways: 1. There is no smoke in this despite the name. Nor is it a "Middle Eastern" fragrance despite the "Egyptian" in its moniker. 2. I have issues with most rose scents, but the rose is practically undetectable in this. 3. The dominant notes that I get here are talcum powder (implying generous use of linalool as confirmed in the ingredients on the box), some fougeric notes, all over a bed of amber and patchouli. There are nuances of tea, palo santo and cacao, but the other notes don't really step out. 4. The dna isn't completely foreign, but it also doesn't smell much like anything else. 5. This is not a big projector on me, but it lasts pretty well.

I tried a 2ml sample & i used it all in one time so I assume I over sprayed, however, the performance was below average. the longevity was 3-4 hours & the projection was weak from the beginning. I did not get the full fragrance experience & I feel that I cannot write a comprehensive review. The scent is class & reviews below say that performance is above average, it is a shame that my sample has this underwhelming performance. Edit: looks like I went nose blind the whole time. I got strong whiffs of Jammy rose 8 hours after application. The scent is warm & comforting. I will look for it at a discount price.

I got decants of three of these Dunhill signatures. I liked Egyptian Smoke better than Moroccan Amber but it's not as good as Arabian Desert. Egyptian Smoke has a rose note that is a little sweet for my tastes, leaning towards honey. Not enough spice from the ginger and pepper instead this is a rose tea sweetened with honey and the slightest hints of cacao and tobacco. Mediocre longevity for an EdP at a couple of hours but way better than Moroccan Amber. Still a solid sweet fragrance.

Got my bottle from Notino today for really good price. First sniff and I’m immediatelly thinking of these fragrances: D&G One Mysterious Night, Acqua di Parma Oud, Issey Miyake Noir Ambre, Costume National Soul. As you can see all are heavy hitters so Egyptian Smoke looks very promising. Getting slight nuances of all of these resulting in very pleasing yet very strong first impression. Will update this post later on when I get more experience with this fragrance.
