Icon Racing Blue

This is being sold in the Netherlands at Ici Paris. Got a sample today. This smells like a summer version of D&G The One. The opening is different though. It has a sharp citrussy opening. After about 10-15 minutes it starts to dry down very similar to D&G The One, but lighter. It is a freshie for sure. But an interesting one. I am testing this in 20°C and I feel like it needs more heat to perform. It actually smells really nice. Imagine mixing The One with a blue fragrance and then you get this. I wonder if this if this resembles D&G Luminous Night in a way.

@Sloth. No, this is not a blue fragrance at all. Just the bottle and name. Looking at the fragrances in your "Perfumes I Want", this is not something that you are looking for. This is a fresh/spicy/intimate scent. However, like blue fragrances, this is definitely a mass-pleaser. If you have smelled and like/love The One, this is definitely something you would want to own (and wear in the summer). Maybe even a replacement for The One as it will also outperform it in winter.

Just received a bottle here in the states. Very unique blue fragrance, if thats possible. The driftwood really stands out. Reminds me of cufflinks and mirrored sunglasses. Zesty sharp lime and bergamont opening. Salty driftwood comes out after about 15-20 mins. Slights hints of neroli. As the dry down sets in becomes a slightly sweety and woody patchouli. Will be rocking this til fall for sure.

Update 05/15/21: After smelling for a few days I have to conclude and agree with Tyriel that this fragrance indeed reminds of D&G The One, it is only fresher and more energetic. Whilst Icon Racing Red and Green are too much Invictus and Eros, Blue definitely isn't too much D&G The One. It still has its own vibe and character and has become one my favorites. This one, to my nose, is by far the best in the entire Icon lineup. Smells like nothing I have smelled before and is really masculine and enjoyable; fresh and sweet at the same time and really unique, perhaps due to the driftwood. I first smelled this fragrance from a sample that I received from ICI Paris. My reaction at the first spray was Wow, this is different, this is nice! Out of curiosity I went to ICI Paris to smell the rest of the lineup and found the Blue edition to really stand out. Red and Green are also pretty good, but IMO too much Invictus and Eros respectively, consequently lacking originality/uniqueness. I think the Blue edition has serious potential for becoming best release of 2021. The only downside is that it is only available as 100 ml where I live, for around 80 Euros. Not bad of course, but I'd rather have a 50 ml. All in all a 9/10 from me.

When I first sprayed this, I was shocked by how generic and unremarkable it smelled. But within 20 mins it had morphed into a really pleasant manly sporty blue scent that I couldn't get enough of. Performance was excellent too, lasting on my skin for more than 8 hours and projecting pretty well too. We all know about the awesome bottle. I think I'm gonna get this!

This perfume smellls very identical to D&G The One EDP. It projects better than The One as The One is meant for close encounters and the EDP version is pretty much the same. Not a unique smelling fragrance as it is too similar to that. But truth be told I'll buy this instead of The One since this projects better.

Smells nice. Wish it had better performance. I bought to complete my Dunhill Icon/Racing collection. this was the last of the list, mainly because people crapped on it so much, but it is a very nice scent.

Clean and fresh non offensive office scent. I really do like this one, and the bottle is awesome. Solid and heavy. Genuine quality. Performance and sillage could be better. Smells amazing.

I have all 6 in the Icon Racing set and this one is the least of my favorites. I put it down as okay and that is all I can say about it. Longevity is average and silage is just below that and the smell is far from new. I paid £55/$70 for this one and I now wish I'd waited 6 months or so because its worth in opinion sround £22/$32. Nothing at all to be excited about and compared to the 1st four in the Racing line this Blue doesn't much up with them, it's a step down! I believe the Red & Blue(released on the same day!) are just a money grab because of the success of the first four. 5 out of 10!

Not bad, but it honestly seems a little weak after the long dry down, and it didn’t seem to last very long. As far as the scent goes, it actually reminds me of Abercrombie and Fitch first instinct blue, but with more of a spicy twist, similar to The One, but not as good. Not a bad scent overall and I would have moved it up a notch in the rating, but the ambroxan chemical aroma kind of made it lean into the overplayed perfume counter vibe.

Smells nice & I liked it. specially the opening. Performance is average. Longevity 6-7 hours with below average projection from the beginning.

Boring scent unfortunately. Has no projection or longevity. The scent is not even remarkable or impressionable. It does contain some blue related notes but it doesnt ultimately smell blue/marine. I have all the Icon collection from Dunhill and this really is just to cash in with the Icon line and racing collection. The green racing icon although far superior to this one, aint even remarkable. The Red Icon is better than the Blue. Blue really is the worst from the bunch. The best in the Icon Series truly is the original (Silver). The Black Icon is totally different than the original silver and its my favorite along with the silver. Though the silver is the general neroli scent been done many times before like Tom Ford neroli. The Black really is unique with its ebony wood and not similar to other fragrances out there. The Gold although not as popular but some have claimed to be their favorite is the third best but to me its the typical Oud been done before and does not call out to me to wear out much.

Through bad timing and rotten luck I’ve managed to miss every single sale and discount of the original Icon across all mainstream fragrance platforms. However, the damn flankers keep going on sale, and I’ve been picking them up one after another silently hoping that they’ll just be regular icon in a differently coloured (but much cheaper) bottle. Anyway, this one also smells different, and I think that’s bollocks.

This is a Blue scent. Just not the typical blue scent that the masses are used to. Its more aromatic and citrus and woody. It has marine notes, Ambergris (ambroxide recreation of the indigestion residue of whales that float in sea and hardened by sun, sea), Driftwood (wood that get its look color and shape due to waves that drift onto shore) and sea salt. So I guess essentially it is a Blue scent

OK, we are starting to see some activity now. I'd be interested to know if it smells like or reminds you of something else we may have tried, in order to have some idea prior to smelling ourselves? I know it can be subjective but it's a start until it hits the shelves.

How the heck are people voting on this if it's not even available yet? Some have even voted on what they think the notes are, that's some good nose work there without even smelling it... FFS!

Took a sample of this and at first, it smelled incredibly amazing, but later on it became versace blue jeans, and not even as strong. Pretty disappointed as I wanted to buy it.
