Continuing my time with the Signature Collection, I now move from the windswept plains of Mongolia in Mongolian Cashmere to the warm, grounded landscapes of India in Indian Sandalwood, trading soft, powdery textures for something more rooted, earthy, and meditative. Where the previous fragrance focused on tactile smoothness and floral powder, this one suggests a deeper, more centered experience, inspired by the long-standing cultural and spiritual significance of sandalwood in India. The name evokes images of sacred rituals, carved wooden temples, and the calm, lingering aroma of sandalwood incense. There is an expectation here of a fragrance that leans into warmth, creaminess, and depth, with less emphasis on freshness and more on texture and grounding presence. Let’s see if this one truly captures that creamy, almost sacred quality of sandalwood once it settles onto the skin. Opening: The opening is sweet, powdery, and woody. The primary notes I get are sandalwood, orris, patchouli, and carrot, with sandalwood and orris leading the composition. Sandalwood immediately takes center stage with a smooth, creamy woodiness that carries a noticeable and almost milky sweetness. Orris follows closely, adding a soft, powdery texture with subtle earthy undertones and a gentle sweetness that blends seamlessly into the sandalwood. Patchouli works underneath, introducing a darker woody depth with a quiet, underlying sweetness that reinforces the overall tone of the opening. Carrot rounds out the composition with a rooty, earthy quality that also carries a natural sweetness, further contributing to the cohesive feel of the blend. What stands out most is how all of these notes share and amplify that underlying sweetness, coming together to form a distinctly sweet, almost vanillic accord that takes precedence over the woodiness and earthiness. There is a familiarity here as well, as the combination of creamy woods and soft sweetness brings to mind BDK Gris Charnel Extrait. The result is a smooth and enveloping opening where creamy woods, powdery textures, and a shared sweetness create a rich and refined introduction. Dry Down: The dry down remains sweet, powdery, and woody. The primary notes I get are sandalwood, orris, patchouli, and nagarmotha, with sandalwood and orris continuing to lead the composition. Both notes carry forward the same creamy, woody, and powdery accords established in the opening, maintaining that smooth and refined core. Sandalwood still provides a soft, creamy woodiness, while orris reinforces the powdery, slightly earthy texture. Patchouli remains underneath with its darker woody depth, again supported by that consistent underlying sweetness that ties everything together. As the fragrance develops further, the milky nuance from the opening becomes more pronounced, evolving into a distinctly lactonic accord that adds an even richer and more enveloping quality to the composition. In the background, nagarmotha introduces a deeper, subtly smoky woodiness that adds dimension without disrupting the overall smoothness. The result is a cohesive continuation of the opening where creamy woods, powdery textures, and a pronounced lactonic sweetness settle into a deeper and more textured finish. Performance: Projection opens at a strong level, reaching out to at least six feet within the first hour and establishing an immediate presence. Sillage follows closely behind, leaving a heavy and easily noticeable scent trail. After approximately three to four hours, projection remains largely unchanged, maintaining that same level of reach, while the scent trail softens slightly but remains clearly perceptible. As the fragrance continues to develop, performance begins to taper more gradually. Around the seven to eight hour mark, projection settles to roughly three to four feet, and the scent trail becomes noticeably lighter, though still present. The fragrance transitions into a skin scent somewhere around the nine to ten hour mark, resulting in a strong opening followed by a steady and well-paced decline into a softer, more intimate presence. When to Wear: Indian Sandalwood is best suited for fall and winter, where its sweet, woody, and creamy composition can fully come to life in cooler temperatures. The fragrance carries a richness and depth that feels most natural in these seasons, offering a smooth and comforting presence without becoming overly dense. It works well in both daytime and evening settings, depending on how it is applied, making it a flexible option within colder weather. Its refined yet rich character allows it to transition easily between casual wear, formal settings, and special occasions, where its creamy, enveloping profile can feel both elegant and inviting. However, due to its heavier, sweeter nature, it is less suited for office environments, where something lighter and more restrained would typically be more appropriate. Blind Buy: Indian Sandalwood is a safe blind buy for anyone who enjoys sweet, creamy, sandalwood-forward fragrances in the style of BDK Gris Charnel Extrait. It stays close to that tried and true, compliment-attracting DNA, focusing on smooth woods, soft powderiness, and a warm, vanillic-leaning sweetness without introducing anything challenging or polarizing. Even the carrot note, which may seem unusual on paper, is blended seamlessly into the composition and comes across as a natural extension of the fragrance’s soft, slightly sweet, and earthy character rather than something distinct or disruptive. Final Verdict: From the first spray, it was clear that Indian Sandalwood would be something I’d enjoy. As a fan of BDK Gris Charnel Extrait, the similarities were immediately apparent, with Indian Sandalwood presenting itself as a creamier and slightly earthier interpretation of that same DNA. The smooth sandalwood, powdery orris, and underlying sweetness come together in a way that feels familiar, yet distinct enough to stand on its own. Performance is also respectable, landing in a similar range to Gris Charnel Extrait and delivering a consistent, well-rounded wear throughout the day. What ultimately sets the two apart is their focus. Gris Charnel Extrait leans into a more structured, fig-driven composition, while Indian Sandalwood emphasizes a softer, more overtly creamy and lactonic profile. That difference is enough to prevent them from feeling redundant, allowing each to occupy its own space within a collection. When you also factor in the more accessible price point, Indian Sandalwood becomes an even more compelling option. I haven't tried Geo. F Trumper's Sandalwood cologne, but the comment below that says that this is twice the price of Trumper is not accurate at the time of this writing ($47 vs. $52). This opens with ample doses of sandalwood, amber, olibanum and an element of lightly smoked fresh coconut meat (not tropical). After 30 minutes, sweet carrot, cedar, dry vanilla and patchouli have joined, with deft touches of nagarmotha. Only then looking at notes, I am surprised to hear that there is bergamot, and that there is no coconut. Orris is barely noticeable, which is a big plus for me. At the two hour mark, this has developed, now providing wafts of cinnamon, tobacco and cardamom. It has also become drier and woodier. It now has pronounced similarities to Lalique Ombre Noir, though this is smoother and sweeter than that green/earthy masterpiece. The carrot is mostly gone, the coconut now seems like an element of the sandalwood, olibanum and amber, and this has become a bit more sophisticated. It isn't the most complex thing I have ever smelled, but it is comforting, rich and dark. This can be rocked by either (any?) gender, and is quite versatile as to occasion, ranging from casual to office to date to formal, as long as the weather is under 65F. This is the first of this series (Egyptian Smoke, Lavender and Arabian Desert) that I have been tempted to buy a full bottle of. If this ever dips into the low $40 range, I probably will. This is still wafting lightly off my chest and shirt at the 6 hour mark, so performance is quite decent.

#541 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Another home run in my book for the Dunhill Signature Collection which continues to impress me as a renaissance for a once great fragrance house that had grown dull and moribund with indifferent fragrances that I gave away as fast as I bought them. Basically every EDT in the Dunhill line failed with me, and most of their older EDPs fared no better, but so far each decant of this collection has prompted me to a full bottle purchase with the exception of "Valensole Lavender." "Agar Wood", "Amalfi Citrus", "Arabian Desert", "British Leather", "Moroccan Amber" have all been attractive scents with solid performance at a great price, and this scent ,"Indian Sandalwood," joins the Winner's Circle. I'll be testing "Egyptian Smoke" and "Nordic Fougere" soon, but I note enthusiastic response to both from other reviewers. And I love these heavy duty bottles. This scent lists a "carrot note" that I don't smell at all and am not sure I could recognize in any case. Happily the bergamot is subdued enough that despite my sensitivity I can wear it without the convulsive sneezing fit and runny nose that I get from about half the fragrances out there with a bergamot note. I love sandalwood, orris and moss notes generally and the patchouli adds a touch of sweet muskiness, a combo that almost comes off as vanillic. I think this is "sexy beast" kind of stuff, more masculine, perfect for date night. But not so overpowering that you couldn't wear it to the office, and at this price a safe blind buy.

Lovely classic woody scent, with moderate performance. The Sandal is warm creamy and delicious, the Patchouli is aromatic and earthy, and finally, the Orris and the Carrot give it an amazingly soft violet/iris envelope. Being a classic scent it could easily mean it’s dated, but it’s really not, this fragrance is current and important, with an opening which is very reminiscent of Obsession from Calvin Klein, but with a modern twist. Projection is moderate for two hours and then it becomes intimate, I will update later on longevity. Unisex slightly leaning towards men, and wearable on a daily basis. Lovely classic aroma from the nose of Carlos Benaim. ***UPDATE*** On the drydown the sandal slightly fades away and an incredible spicy scent comes to the front. There are no spices listed on Dunhill’s website nor here, although it really smells like cinnamon and cardamom, very lovely aroma, unfortunately also very intimate. Regarding longevity, it's been 5 hours since I sprayed and I can still smell it on myself, although it seems at the end of its performance. Very likely a 6 hour perfume... not bad for a light woody, aromatic fragrance.

Excellent and elegant office scent. Safe bet. The scent opens up with somewhat synthetic impression of sandalwood (and other scents) but soon tames down to general, woody, velvety smoothness. Sandalwood and powdery kind of smoothness, softened by some moss and the like. Generally speaking, this is one of those scents, that are very easy to like. Nothing complex. Nothing original. Nothing surprising. Just well executed impression of sandalwood and smoothness. I would be surprised, if someone found this somehow offensive. The sillage is moderate, arm’s length or so. Longevity is good, about a working day. Perfect for the office. As a general note of Dunhill’s Signature-series (I have Agar Wood, Egyptian Smoke and this, the Indian Sandalwood) in my opinion these appear to be scents that are designed to be used with bespoke navy-blue suits, crisp white shirts and a tie. They are elegant, non-offensive interpretations of relevant themes/scents. Perfect for the office. PS. The bottles in this series are glorious. Heavy glass with a caps reminiscent of being knobs stolen from nearest Bentley.

I postponed and postponed getting this, hovered around it for months, always finding something else more interesting to order. Finally pulled the trigger, but had no expectations going in, as I generally like, but do not love sandalwood scents. They're good smells, but none of them really bedazzled me. Enter this. Can't stop enjoying the smell. At every random whiff floating from my hand to my unsuspecting nose, I wonder where the hell that divine smell is coming from. This is the best sandalwood scent I ever smelled. Opens earthy, powdery, and carroty, a bit strange, and it also gives off an alcoholic tinge, like some fine rum swirling in a glass. Turns into this dreamy creamy sandalwood. It's simply better than my other sandalwood-forward scents (Liam Grey by Lattafa / Santal du Pacifique by Perris Monte Carlo / Absolute Santal by Elite Gentleman by Avon). Honestly, seems addictive to my brain. These are just first impressions on sporadic, random sniffs, but it's a love for now, caught completely unawares and unprepared.

Indian sandalwood is one of the best scents from Dunhill Signature collection so glad I got this. So first things first this lasts for around 7 hours on skin with two sprays gaining you moderate projection and a nice sillage. The scent is really amazing, i get this freshly cut sandalwood smell like right of the bark of the trunk. It feels raw, woody and dusty from all the sawing it's a different feeling here. The scent is powdery, dusty with a spicy creaminess and hints of fresh cinnamon tree bark. This smells really amazing to me. You will really want to spray this on yourself and you will be left wondering Wow how good this smells!! It's amazing. Thanks Dunhill for such a gem. PS: Get this you will not regret it , recommended for mature people and for those who can appreciate well blended scents this is a masterpiece so sophisticated and smells expensive if that makes any sense.

A lot of sandalwood fragrances are based on the more accessible Australian sandalwood. This, however, is closer to the scent profile of Mysore sandalwood from India that is heavily controlled by Indian regional governments. I just took a shower with authentic Mysore sandalwood soap bar, and the stuff they use in this Dunhill release comes really close to that (if you ignore the supporting notes). Now if this is synthetic, they really did a good job emulating/imitating that scent profile. If you want to sample Australian sandalwood try Perris Mont Carlo Santal du Pacific Extrait, not the EDP. That is a good interpretation of how Australian Sandalwood comes across in perfumery. This is not bad at all, I love it. It is easy to pull off, clean non-offensive, comforting, and a break from the vanilla and tobacco heavy scents of autumn and winter.

Sublime. Not as milky or laitonic as “Sacred Wood” By Killian but this composition stars one of the most realistic, true-to-life interpretations of sandalwood in fragrance I’ve ever encountered. I have a modest collection of Sandalwood essential oils, the oldest of which is a Dodge Olcott “East Indian Sandalwood” from the 1920s - and to which the sandalwood note in this is identical. Very reminiscent of Sartoriale by Pal Zileri - a warm, slightly resinous, sandalwood fragrance that’s fairly linear but certain to delight sandalwood enthusiasts everywhere. Longevity is similar to Sartoriale too, making Dunhill Indian Sandalwood a somewhat ephemeral - albeit pleasurable - experience, especially when compared to, say, the formidable lifespan of Trumper Sandalwood.

after couple of years, this was finally 10/10 succesful blind buy. I have Tam Dao, had Valentino Uomo Noir (very nice) ... this is marvelous, soothing Sandalwood, perfect for fall season. Soothing, soft, creamy, realistic. I remember I tried whole Signature line by Dunhill in 2018 but I remember I like 2 or 3 of them, but Indian Sandalwood was probably my most fave from whole line ... so yes - right choice! I love these unique, not repetitive smells! yeah - first you can get is a mixture of carrot and nice iris notes .. but carrot is very jammy, very uplifting like a sweet carrot jam for kids- then comes orris and sandalwood and it dries down beautifully .. a bit powdery, but still represent the realistic picture of indian sandalwood ... brilliant artwork!

@morenoetrata I totally feel you on Mongolian Cashmere. My "Indian Sandalwood" bottle is batch NG18 and I got that exact same weird, rubbery opening as mentioned in the comment below. However, after completely forgetting about this bottle for 7 months, I decided to give it another shot this morning. I know maceration/maturation is a controversial topic and some people think it's a myth, but honestly, that's just because they haven't tried this specific juice yet! The scent profile has completely transformed over time. It has settled into a pleasant, soft, and creamy sandalwood with a lovely sweet nuance. It's super smooth and completely non-offensive now. I'm absolutely thrilled to add another solid sandalwood fragrance to my rotation.

I started appreciating sandalwood after I tried this one. Its linear all through out as a soliflore would. But it's smoooooth it's milky it's creamy pleasant and safe. No doubt that this is weakest projecting perfume ive ever tried, i couldnt smell it well on paper i couldnt smell it much on my skin. But it lasted me more than 12 hours. They have entered the exclusive line price territory they could have done better. Since this is like a high quality sandalwood with the price of a niche. But its smooth. I started searching for perfumes with sandalwood in it after I tried this one. Full pledged high quality sandalwood. Similar to oud wood and carlisle.

I went on a whole journey with sandalwood. Every single "best/favorite sandalwood" list I could find on the internet - in forums, on old review blogs, on YouTube - was scoured and I tried pretty much all of them. After all that, Indian Sandalwood stands as one of the most unique sandalwood fragrances I smelled, as well as one of my favorites. It for sure does NOT smell like Santal Blush, but I guess people who have limited exposure to sandalwood will think at first that all sandalwoods smell alike. What it DOES smell like is Dunhill Arabian Desert, just with more, you guessed it, sandalwood.

This is one of the best almost-virgin-mysore-sandalwood scents I’ve ever put my nose on! Instant love for me, finally a simple sandalwood scent that performs gently but long lasting. I don’t get much rather than creamy smooth sandalwood, the kind you get in SJP Stash, Gucci Rush, Diptyque Tam Dao, Wonderwood etc. On paper strip it is still there after 8 hours and on skin it comes and goes with body heat but much less than paper. If it’s not one of those impossible to find private collections (I came across this one in Dubai), then it shall make a name for itself. Full bottle worthy IMO.

Scent: Earthy and lactonic scent. Starts off very carroty and settles down on an aromatic sandalwood. Very likeable scent from the signature collections. I have 5 out of the 10 from the collection. Performance: This is not a projection beast, I would say. Projects average for the first two hours. The sillage is below average. But the longevity is around six hours. This is based on my two months of wearing this Scent. Verdict: It is not an unique scent, but it is also not another typical sandalwood Perfume. Definitely worth the try. You might love it, but you can never hate it.😉💯

One of the best type of sandalwood scent in my collection. After the British Leather, this one is my second favorite from the line. A delicious and creamy sandalwood but it's not a boring linear version. A multidimensional scent profile with distinct pyramidal notes. Opened with a playful citrus, followed by a creamy orris, and ended up with a regal combination of sandalwood and nagarmotha.

I own 75% of this line and Indian Sandalwood is definitely the best, if you can’t decide which one to get go with it. It does not smell like TF Oud Wood but it performs in the same way and scratches that same itch if that makes sense. I have not smelled a sandalwood like this before, very unique and you will stand out wearing this. Highly recommended!

My third of the series. Always wanted a perfume like Proraso Red, so this scratches that itch. I also like Amouage Journey Man, but feel that can be a little much for daily wear. Creamy, soft, natural sandalwood with hints of other aromatics. Very very similar to Proraso Red Aftershave, which I love. I mean, really similar up until the drydown where this leans slightly smokier. Redundant if I have Proraso Red, but might get it anyways. Very nice...a great sandalwood scent. Scent: 8.5 / Sillage: 8 / Longevity: 7

I wrote a review about this one a few months ago, and I loved it, and I still do. However, this has been discontinued, along the entire signature line from Dunhill. If you want yours hurry up and get one wherever you can find it. I bought a backup bottle last week. Prices are still the same, for now, but availability is dwindling.

This is beautiful. On skin. On paper it's a different scent, and nothing like what it does on skin. I don't get the comparisons to DHI, which I also love. This was a like on tester strip and an immediate love on skin. Really good, and pretty unique. Creamy sanded sandalwood.

Dunhill Indian Sandalwood is quite the beautiful fragrance even if it is not made with real sandalwood. Just so creamy and warm with a what I consider a masculine and professional scent. I love the smell of this and the feel in the morning when I put it on prior to dressing for work. That said, I do not love how weak the longevity is. I wear it to the office, I don't need to project much more than the few feet around me and really don't want great sillage either. No worries as the projection is minimum for the time I spray it on for maybe the first hour and the their isn't any sillage to worry about. But my biggest gripe is that this is gone in three to maybe three and a half hours after spraying it. I am being generous with that time period too. Additionally, that is with around ten good sprays. So in short, lovely scent with horrible longevity. Can't be that upset with this blind buy as it was only $53. I will search on for a sandalwood with staying power.

This is a deeply comfortable and comforting fragrance, particularly on a day as cold as this one is right here. A soft, discreet fragrance from first spray through drydown. I get a bit of Bergamot and what I'm told is carrot, and then orris and creamy sandalwood all the way home. I don't really pick up a strong cipriol note, but I'm using Dunhill's Century as my measuring stick and that's essentially a big bottle of cipriol. I like soft, subtle fragrances. I've no desire to make a statement with my scent. If someone is going to smell me I'd like it to be because I invite them in to an intimate closeness, and 3-4 sprays of Indian Sandalwood means that anyone I invite in is going to like what they smell. A gorgeous sandalwood at outstanding discount prices. Considering a backup bottle as I type!

Soft, powdery sandalwood. A very classic yet well-done sandalwood fragrance. It is a very soft and cool sandalwood scent thoroughly, made powdier with orris, and a touch of patchouli, oakmoss, & bergamot add the mildest green freshness to balance the powdery woodiness. The result is a soft, powdery, cool, mild woody scent, with a slight green freshness. A like-or-love fragrance, a must try for sandalwood fans. Safe and inoffensive. Reminds me of Sanatl 33. Also reminds me of Les Liquides Imagineres' Fortis, not the same smell but the same vibe: cool, powdery, soft, & woody. Indian Sandalwood is a somewhat versatile woody fragarnce, suitable more for the mature and the cool days. Big "Like".

I tried it yesterday, disappeared in a minute or two but hours later i was asked by a lady if I was wearing Amarige by Givenchy (which has a sandalwood and Amber in the base notes) then I figured It didn't disappear it just Blinds your nose after application but it's mostly leathery Woody But not like Direct Sandalwood temple incense or Direct Sandalwood smell as the way Montale Full Incense emitting clean Frankincense resin smell. that What I was looking for a clean Loud best mode Sandalwood smell not vague woody smell if you know what i mean 🤷🏻

I am now a fan of Dior Homme Intense category of frags but this one has been the best from this line of dunhill for me so far. It's a powdery buttery creamy velvety sandal wood with iris. It reminded me DHI instantly. Like every single other one I have tried from this line, it's weak in terms of longevity and silage. I would say this one may worth it a try. Also because of its extreme creaminess and powderiness, it's very unisex imo.

I tried the sample pack of 4 for the Dunhill Signature Collection and for me this one was the stand out! After wearing this a couple of times I was tempted to buy a full size bottle! It has a slight Dior Homme vibe which I'm a fan of! This is smoky but creamy and sweet also. The quality of this fragrance and the others in the line are a top tier 10/10. This is a nice one for sure!

Buttery creamy Sandalwood very safe classic scent. If you like Sandalwood scents under $60 you can’t go wrong with this one. It does open a little synthetic but after like 15 minutes it just starts taking this beautiful Sandalwood scent. I have very fine Sandalwood dust that I burn like incense and it is very similar but this is creamier richer. A mature scent in a classic way.

Creamy sandalwood has a very pleasing smell. Gives you this warm sense of being wrapped in a blanket on a cold day. The whole line is kinda underrated and sometimes it's possible to find those gems on the discounts. I don't get the "carrot note" at all. And if you are into sandalwood like me this one will satisfy your senses. The only minus is medium longevity.

I agree with the reviewer below "Linear javanol (sandalwood-like aromachemical), with some spices to amp it up. Really smells synthetic and boring" However, its got a very soothing soft creamy ADDICTIVENESS to it, I often finding myself spraying it when chilling at home. Skin scent. Moderate longevity but it very quickly becomes a skin scent.

Nice opening. Pretty linear sandalwood that is quality wise somewhere in the middle. Alhambra has a dupe called Your touch santal that is very similar yet more interesting. From the four Dunhill Signature perfumes i got i would put this one at the bottom of the list. Egyptian Smoke. Agar Wood. Mongolian Cashmere Indian Sandalwood.

This is shockingly creamy and smooth. I'd say this one if firmly unisex, neither masculine nor feminine. The dry down is a pleasant woody iris scent. On me, the projection was pretty much gone in about an hour, but maybe I just didn't spray enough. I'll try a bit more next time and update if it changes.

On a test strip it smells smooth, warm and comforting. Not a sandalwood expert, but a longtime fan of Samsara and use that as a point of comparison for Sandalwood quality. Indian Sandalwood's sandalwood seems up to snuff. As a mature woman, I'd enjoy wearing Indian Sandalwood in the fall/winter.

I am utterly gobsmacked at how much it just smells like my South Asian father wearing his starchy, formal clothes when I was younger, and me holding onto his sleeve, being colicky and incorrigible. I don’t have much else to say because everything else is overtaken by sheer nostalgia. Wow.

Indian Sandalwood EdP for men by Alfred Dunhill is a creamy powdery sandalwood fragrance with a hint of earthy green scent. I also noticed leather and iris notes even though they are not listed here. It's not an evolutionary novel fragrance for me, but a nice one to wear in the winter.

The carrot scent is what makes this unique from the other "winter" fragrances. It is warm, spicy, and earthy but also kind of powdery sweet. It is definitely a unique scent that I think won't be very appealing to most women.

Mostly just creamy and powdery sandalwood with a very subtle sweetness in the background, quite nice! Gets the sandalwood scent right WITHOUT going in the pickle direction, definitely give it a try.

Gave this a 4/5 rating but it was based only on the scent. Performance is absolutely trash. If it performed better, it would be a great addition to any collection. Too bad it failed.

I like it. Like it was said creamy sandalwood, orris and carrot. Well blended fall scent that is great for evenings out.

Sandalwood garlands - that's the exact smell. If you are fan of sandalwood buy this, old school goodness

Opens fruity and sweet, akin to tonka beans. I'm not sure if that's carrots or patchouli? Then dries down to an Irisy middle; Clean, floral, and powdery. In the dry down, the sandalwood pops up and replaces all other notes, a creamy woody sandalwood; not too dry, not too creamy; just right! This fragrance is very nice! It is a complex and unique Sandalwood fragrance, different from other fragrances out there. However, I was hoping that this would be very Sandalwood forward fragrance, woody, creamy, smoky, from opening to end, like real natural Sandalwood. But alas, this is more of a fragrance with sandalwood and not a sandalwood fragrance. My second gripe is the longevity. I figured for the price I was finding this fragrance, ~50 bucks, it wouldn't be an issue for me, but it is! This fragrance has good sillage and projection, but after about 3 hours, it all but a skin scent. For 50 bucks, I would not complain, but if I had to pay any more than that, it would be hard pass. So final verdict, this is not the natural Sandalwood fragrance I was hoping to find, and performance is lackluster. But it is a very nice fragrance if you can get one for around 50 bucks at discounters.

i usually go with florals but I have always like and wanted a sandelwood fragrance. I decided on Dunhill because it is Indian sandelwood. I bought this blind and I was thrilled. From the first spray i was happy then I had finally found a sandalwood perfume that was nice and true sandalwood. From head, heart and base the lovely scent of sandalwood was ever present and never overpowering. Occasionally I will useI just before bed and I wake to the light and beautiful scent of this remarkable fragrance. If you like sandalwood and you are looking for a fragrance that you can wear to the office or an evening out you will enjoy this cologne. I chose to wait until my second purchase before I reviewed. I can say that this fragrance from Dunhill has remained consistent, pleasant and fairly long lasting. I would say it is definitely unisex but leans toward a scent for men. I read several reviews that it is a winter cologne only and I certainly do not agree with that I also read reviews that it should not be blind. If you know fragrances and you enjoy sandalwood with a slight powdery sweetness then this is perfectly safe to buy blind.

Indian Sandalwood had a high bar to reach since I really like Acqua di Parma's Sandalo EdP (black bottle). Unfortunately, it didn't come even close. There wasn't a whole lot of development of the scent after the initial citrusy opening. Indian Sandalwood dries down into what I can only describe as a subtle, generic woody scent. Nothing that induces me to buy a bottle. The longevity is also quite weak. I got around 4 hours. Yeah, I could get a faint whiff if I put nose to skin, but nothing more that I could enjoy or others could detect, even when close. Projection was about arms length for maybe about 30 minutes and then it became quite intimate. So, with the scent being only OK and lackluster performance, I'll pass.
