Moroccan Amber

#513 in my "Tour de Fragrance" After buying and loving a bottle from this collection, Dunhill "Arabian Desert", I bought decants of the rest of the collection to see if I'd want to own others. And I am going to order this one, even though there are similar scents I already own. I think this is slightly unique from those, so it's not entirely redundant to have this in the collection. I'll name just a few and rank this among them so you can see my own preferences. 1. Rochas Moustache Eau de Parfum 2. Dunhill Moroccan Amber 3. Maison Margiela Replica Jazz Club 4. Armani Stronger with You 5. Dolce & Gabbana The One You'll note some of these are vanillic. The Moroccan Amber is not, but it comes off similar because the note combination gives a mildly vanillic impression. For that reason it comes off, to me at least, as a more mature fragrance while still fitting younger taste trends than other Dunhill scents like the "Desire" line. I in fact got some compliments from young women on this today. Also, I really like the bottles in this collection. They look serious and upscale, not silly, so they don't embarrass me when a visitor sees it on the shelf (Be honest. You hide the Paco Rabanne "Phantom" and Moschino "Toy Boy" bottles too, don't you? And who the hell is actually buying Reyanne Tradition's silly Star-Wars-robot-themed scents? Anyone? A woman sees "R2B2" on your bathroom shelf and it's no sex for you my friend!) I think this scent is acceptable business wear if you don't overdo it, but it's more for sophisticated evening wear, date wear, I would think for a more mature audience, though one of the young women who liked it this morning is a college freshmen, so I may have the wrong conclusion on that. Just know that though it's an EDP, it's at the bottom of the range. You'll get about four hours from this, which again is why I think it's more evening wear. All-in-all it's a nice amber and spice combo that's completely wearable and absolutely can't offend anyone. Not especially unique, but you can't really expect that for $55, and it certainly projects better and lasts longer than many more expensive EDTs.

dunhill moroccan amber i did try this one at the Robinson and had test this some sniff. for the sensation you get upon whiff it is pleasingly warm and the sweetness is charmingly smooth and deep i can say its good for intimate. I love the Immortelle and Hazelnut Accords in it. as if its sweetness is restrained but it does have a linger quality to be noticed in moderation without being cloying but its light but sweet i say its Accords is Carefully Structured well for safe sweetness and safe intimate. Among the 4 Dunhill Signature Collection Releases Moroccan Amber Stood the most for me. well it was Intriguing and already Bought it at Full Price.

A pleasant, clean, warm and quite sweet and spicy floral scent with bitter (almond/hazelnut) undertones to provide for the masculinity.Very nice and distinct over all. I don't know who the target user group here is , but it goes pretty much for the safe and clean output. Resemblance to many generic perfumes is there, but to my nose, it has its uniqueness. I know of several other heavy promoted designer fragrances that ride the generic horse, and no, this one is not one of them.

Unique qualities. Poor marketing. Dunhill is losing the battle. If you want 24h longevity, try Kerosene. This is craftily done and wearable in all seasons.

Received mine. I’m gonna put it On Fresh tomorrow morning and see how it goes. But first thoughts are it’s a beautiful warming scent.

There’s an immediate sense that this will be a heavier, more indulgent composition, one that trades softness for intensity while still aiming to remain refined and wearable. Let’s step into the heat and see if this amber radiates or begins to smolder on skin. Opening: The opening is warm, spicy, and aromatic. The primary notes I get are cardamom, ginger, coriander, and black pepper, with the cardamom and ginger leading. The cardamom is warm, slightly sweet, and softly spiced, giving the opening a smooth and inviting character that immediately sets the tone. It’s very reminiscent of the style of cardamom used in Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP, carrying that same rounded, seductive warmth. However, it also carries a bit of a camphorous, mentholated accord that helps to distinguish it. The ginger follows with a bright, zesty effervescence, adding a sparkling, almost citrusy lift that contrasts nicely with the depth of the cardamom and keeps the opening from feeling too heavy. The coriander sits just behind, contributing a subtle herbal and aromatic quality that helps round off the sharper edges of the spice and bring balance to the composition. Lastly, the black pepper introduces a dry, sharp bite, adding a gentle nasal kick and a bit of texture that gives the opening some extra dimension without overwhelming it. Notably, I don’t get any amber in the opening, suggesting it will come forward later as the fragrance develops. The result is a smooth yet energetic spice-driven opening where warmth, brightness, and aromatic nuance come together in a refined and well-balanced introduction. Dry Down: The dry down is ambery, sweet, and warm. The primary notes I get are amber, hazelnut, cardamom, and leather, with amber and hazelnut leading the composition. As expected, the amber emerges in full, presenting a deep, rich, and balsamic warmth that gives the fragrance its core identity in this stage. It carries a smooth, resinous sweetness that feels dense and enveloping without becoming overly heavy. The hazelnut rises alongside it, introducing a nutty, creamy sweetness that leans slightly gourmand, very reminiscent of the chestnut accord found in Armani Stronger With You line. This adds a soft, almost edible richness that blends seamlessly into the amber and enhances the overall warmth. Cardamom remains present in the background, carrying over its warm, spicy character from the opening, though it has now lost the camphorous, mentholated facet and feels smoother and more rounded. Lastly, the leather works quietly underneath, adding a gentle touch of soft, supple texture that gives the dry down a bit more depth and structure without becoming harsh or dominant. The result is a rich and indulgent dry down where glowing amber, creamy sweetness, and soft leather come together in a warm and cohesive finish. Further into the dry down, the fragrance undergoes one final transformation. The amber retains the same deep, rich, and balsamic tone. However, the oud comes forward, providing a dark, earthy woodiness, while the hazelnut becomes stronger, pushing it closer to that gourmand, Stronger With You type DNA. Performance: Projection opens at a strong level, reaching out to about six feet within the first hour and establishing a clear presence. Sillage matches that intensity, leaving behind an easily noticeable scent trail that reinforces the fragrance’s warm and spicy character. After approximately three hours, performance remains largely unchanged, with both projection and scent trail maintaining much of their initial strength. As the fragrance continues to develop, it begins to taper more noticeably. Around the seven hour mark, projection softens considerably to within arm’s length, while the scent trail diminishes to a faint presence. The fragrance transitions into a skin scent around the same time, resulting in a strong opening followed by a more rapid decline into a softer, intimate finish. When to Wear: Moroccan Amber is best suited for fall and winter, where its warm, rich composition can fully come to life in cooler temperatures. The fragrance feels most natural in the evening, when its depth and indulgent character align with more intimate and relaxed settings. It works especially well for special occasions such as date nights, where its warm, slightly sweet profile can feel inviting and comforting. At the same time, it is soft and cozy enough to be worn casually, while still carrying a level of sophistication that allows it to transition into more formal environments with ease. However, its richness and density make it less suitable for office wear, where it may come across as too heavy or overpowering. Blind Buy: If you enjoy fragrances in the style of Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP or Armani Stronger With You, Moroccan Amber will likely feel right at home, making it a fairly safe blind buy within that category. It stays close to that tried and true, warm, sweet, and slightly gourmand DNA without introducing anything particularly challenging or polarizing. Even the oud is handled in a very approachable way, coming across more as a dark, woody depth rather than anything animalic or overpowering. The only consideration is the opening, which leans more into a spicy and aromatic profile before transitioning into the sweeter, more familiar territory. As long as that progression sounds appealing, this is a scent profile that most people will find easy to enjoy. Final Verdict: I enjoyed Moroccan Amber in much the same way that I enjoy Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP and the Armani Stronger With You line. It carries that same cozy, sweet, and easy-to-enjoy character that makes those fragrances so appealing. The blend of warmth, sweetness, and woods creates a profile that is immediately likable and effortlessly wearable. However, for those same reasons, it ultimately feels quite redundant within my collection. I already own multiple fragrances that occupy this exact space, and while Moroccan Amber executes the DNA very well, it does not necessarily do anything better or different enough to justify adding it. There is a familiarity here that works in its favor from an enjoyment standpoint, but works against it in terms of uniqueness. Overall, this is a well-crafted and highly enjoyable fragrance that I would confidently recommend to anyone who appreciates this style. For me personally, though, it is not something I feel the need to add to my collection. I've got samples of the Signature Collection and Moroccan Amber is the first I tried. It opens spicy and then quickly dries down to smooth leathery amber with a touch of a woody accord. Also comes across dusty, like a hot, dry day. Scent is stable and doesn't change after the quick dry down. Moroccan Amber is also a muted scent in that it sits pretty close to the skin after dry down without much projection or sillage. Overall, a very pleasant scent that's subdued. Would work pretty much anytime in the year, although confined to the evening on hot summer days. If you wear this to work, you'll have to reapply at lunch time. Longevity is average. I got about 5 hours out of it after spraying about 10 times. Although I prefer strong fragrances, there are times, even for me, when discretion is warranted and Moroccan Amber would be useful in such situations. All that said, I'll wait on deciding to get a bottle after I've finished testing the collection to see if another stands out more.

Ginger-fresh opening followed by fresh-sweet floral scents. Spice notes (pepper, coriander, and cardamon) show up in the heart but not spicy at all to my nose. Leather in the base is musky/animalistic, and wood notes are almost undetectable to me. Moroccan Amber EdP from Dunhill smells familiar somehow, and I keep on thinking that I have smelled it before but cound't remember where. I think it is not novel nor unique, but nontheless smells nice and most people would like it.

I got decants of Moroccan Amber, Egyptian Smoke, and Arabian Desert. I think I'm least impressed with this one. It has by far the worst longevity and fleeting notes. I actually love the spicy peppery notes but once those top notes fade the hazelnut, leather, woody notes are so faint and they seem to fade very quickly. A couple of hours longevity or less at best and not very interesting without the top notes. I think Arabian Desert is the only one I'd get a bottle of.

I got the 4 Dunhill fragrances sampler from Fragrantica and this is the one that stood out the most. It has a very smooth amber note and smells like a niche oriental. I'm still not planning to buy it at the current prices ($80 +/-) but I will keep an eye on it for when it hits the discounters. Amber lovers will appreciate this scent.

I recently purchased this from MaxAroma. Great place, but unfortunately this fragrance doesn’t last a very long time. I get 4 hours and after that it becomes a skin scent. However, I do like the smell of it. I reminds me of dolce the one. I wish it would last longer. I guess this is a good scent to cuddle with.

Mostly soft smooth hazelnut and saffron on amber, whilst beautiful would be appear to be the weakest in performance in the line up. Still a great buy at a discount - doesn’t compare for the price to Egyptian Smoke or the more unique and underrated Nordic Fougere, Lavensole and Amalfi Citrus.

A gingery/peppery fresh top, with a spicy cardamom (the main player here) heart and a touch of blurry fruit-y/vanillic sweetness giving an impression of hazelnut. The drydown is the usual woody/leathery amber accord widely used in Sephora/Macy fragrances. Below avergae performance (especially the poor longevity). Overall a nice designer amber-y fragrance, but clealry overpriced at discounters (full retail price is simply a joke). As opposed to my first sniffing, this one got downgraded after I could properly wear it. Still my second of the four in my ranking of this line, but a distant second, a big step lower compared to British Leather. Still, it might appeal to who is used to mainstream-quality amber fragrances, like D&G The One, Michael Kors for Men or Alford&Hoff No.1, but I would suggest not to spend more than $50 on this one. Very "meh" in my book, and pass for me. Fall days, 20+ Note: the nose is Gino Percontino, a young perfumer of Mane.

Opens with a pretty strong blast of Amber with some mild, warm spice. It soon becomes powdery with semi-floral and slight woody notes mixed with the amber. The dry down is an interesting mix of fresh yet musky. This comes across as firmly unisex to me; it's neither masculine nor feminine. However, I definitely agree with the reviewer who said that this is not a fragrance for young people. I believe this would seem most appropriate on someone 50+. I don't personally find this fragrance pleasant, but it is interesting.

Another disappointment from this line for me. Very weak and generic. It's not worth the price imo. If really want an amber bomb like what the name of this fragrance suggestions, get chopard Amber Malaki. This is definitely one of the better ones in this line that I have tried so far but still not anywhere close to what I expected. Just that the bottles are gorgeous. I would highly recommend sampling before you buy anything from this line.

Very disappointing, nice scent with weak performances, it gives half hour to onr hour projection and last for 3-4 hours. Nevertheless I bought 2 more new bottles as it has been discontinued

Great scent. Awful performance. Such a shame. Save your money
