Jewel

Can't believe this lady has been around since 2005 and we are just now getting acquainted. Let me preface by saying that I don't consider myself any kind of expert, I just know what I like and what I don't. My nose is not so skilled as to read every nuance in a scent, I can only pick out the easily identifiable notes that are familiar to me. At first sniff of this beauty, my first word was "wow", literally. Mostly because of the blast of creamy white floral. She's lovely, but not light, not at first anyway. It settles down pretty quickly to a deep jasmine/ "fluffy" soapy scent. I don't pick up any fruity notes at all, just dreamy white florals, if a bit heavy right out of the gate.The drydown is charming and I am more than happy with this one. It doesn't hurt that the bottle is gorgeous. It smells so familiar, but I just can't recall from where. Trying to remember is giving me a tiny itch in the back of my brain. But I do smell fabulous, so there is that.

This "Jewel" of a fragrance is certainly not what I expected from Alfred Sung! Its beautiful, creamy and uplifting with a tinge of spiciness. The entire note is just harmonious without being linear.....that's the only way I can explain it. And the bottle is completely gorgeous! I am starting to feel that some of these bottles are such works of art it would be hard to get rid of them. I am so satisfied with "Jewel" and think it is my replacement fragrance for "Shi", which my sister bought before I did and I don't want to smell the same way, although we don't live in the same place. Ah! This is my Alfred Sung fragrance, "Jewel" is it. UPDATE: This is so beautiful. I am very pleased with this fragrance. The notes are in harmony and balance. An excellent designer fragrance at an affordable price. I actually did smell the pear in the night time though - so although I love the husky musky coconut during the day I get even more in the nighttime.

I blind bought 3 sung purfumes after falling in love with Pure. Jewel is definitely my 2nd favorite, the opening is loud white floral but the drydown is soft and slightly fruity and creamy white floral . It starts out alot like Shi but Shi has a nice musk in the drydown ... I'm still on the fence about Forever , it's a beast mode floral with a tangy fruity edge. It seems that Sung purfume house has a white floral for every occasion and the performance of the 4 I have is amazing considering the affordable price. I think alfred sung is an underrated house for sure. Update: after letting this purfume settle for a few months it is even more beautiful. I can really smell the orange blossom and neroli in the opening. The sillage is stronger now and it's giving me ellie saab vibes with a soft creamy dry down... It's a love for me, a true jewel in my collection. 10/10

Jackpot! I purchased Jewel on a discount fragrance site in order to get free shipping. My expectations were low because of the price point and I planned on giving the perfume away (I know, that sounds super elitist. I'm getting help). One spray and the decision was made - I will not be gifting this fragrance! It is everything I wanted Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath to be for a fraction of the price (and it smells better too). Jewel is slightly fruity, clean, airy, and creamy. The base of coconut and mimosa is gorgeous and makes me feel so happy. While I won't give this bottle away, I probably will purchase more for my sisters. If you're considering this fragrance, just get it. It's not worth paying for a sample when the bottle is so inexpensive. I don't think you'll regret it.

I believe this fragrance is being discontinued. I may have found one of the few available unopened one-ounce bottles to try for the first time. I'm so glad I did. As a person who LOVES frangipani, and who dislikes having delicate notes pounded down by patchouli and woody notes, this fragrance is a real hit for me. If I'd known about it even a year ago, I might have found a larger bottle, so I could have indulged in the occasional overspray. Oh well. I'll savor each application from my tiny little jewel shaped bottle. Love it. Update: Found a bigger bottle at a good price!! Yaay!! 🦋🧡🦋

I adore this scent - it is light and soft, but noticeable due to the coconut and pear. I thought it was a Calvin Klein scent when I first noticed my sister wearing it, due to its clean scent reminding me of Eternity Summer for Women 2019 - but better. It is not long-lasting- but is pungent within two hours of wearing it. For the price, I would purchase and reapply as I am a student and think it is worth the trade-off. Amazing summer scent, but you could get away with it in the winter as a soft feminine scent on a date. Love Love Love for the price - Excellent gift

This perfume is a beautiful, hidden gem. I used to love wearing Alfred Sung's perfumes back in the early 2000's, so I had to check this one out. I bought Jewel for $20 from Shoppers Drug, so if you're in Canada, I definitely recommend checking it out. Thanks to Nutmeg & Almond's review (the one below mine) I purchased it on a blind buy and will never regret it! It has a sharp opening, but it dries down to the most gorgeous floral scent. Definitely a safe perfume for day wear that won't offend even the most sensitive nose. Thank you Nutmeg & Almond!

Jasmine to me. I think it goes well with business suits but also with jeans, open white blouse and black blazer or a low cut satin evening gown or a cashmere scarf. What I am trying to say is that it is about being a woman and attitude. Lasts about 4 hours. It lingers behind you It's a grown up scent-I am not putting down a younger user but I think that it could be strong for you ( it would have been for me at a younger age) Bottle is lovely, catches sunlight beautifully. SUDS AWAY~ I Truly enjoy this scent! In my humble opinion, it smells like clean skin after a BUBBLE BATH! You know the way freshly washed skin smells once you emerge from the bath tub and a breeze hits you? Yes, that freshness! The only notes that stands out to me are Plum, Greenery, and White Florals. I think that Jewel is perfect all year around because it provides a calming, rejuvenating, warmth-freshness that I find quite soothing!

A true hidden gem. You get the sharp white florals, which is perfect for summer since it won't cloy you. However, I enjoy wearing it in winter to be the ice queen. A massive compliment getter! I have a wide collection of celebrity, low-end, designer and niche perfumes and yet this $20 gem is one of my most complimented perfumes. You can't go wrong with it long as you love white florals and something sharp ice-cutting.

This is my 2nd review on jewel... this perfume starts sharp but once the neroli settles the drydown is magical, no woody or musky base to ruin the sweet florals. The longevity is low on skin but lasts 12 hours on clothes. I'm so glad I got a backup bottle a few years ago because Jewel is getting hard to find and more than doubled in price. Jewel has become on of my favorite white florals : )

This is such a beautiful smell. I love the freshness and how crisp it is. The coconut is absolutely beautiful here. If anyone is looking for a good coconut scent without being too fake smelling?! then look no further. I just love it when a perfume has such great notes that blend so perfectly. I'm really enjoying this one and the bottle is just gorgeous.

This is a LOT like Modern Muse in my opinion. And just like Modern Muse, I like this sprayed directly on my skin, NOT on my clothing at all. It warms so nicely into a floral, musky, ever so slightly soapy scent. Perfect for spring and summer, and sometimes just for going to bed after a shower when I want to feel clean and fresh.

This smells like J'Adore by Dior to me n this lasts a lot longer n is easier to wear IMHO. Look at the notes. Both are Jasmine n Pear n assorted extras. And J'Adore has Freesia n i just don't like that note at all so this wears better on my nose. Plus Jewel costs a whole lot less! This is a powerful floral, lovely!

I love this perfume. It is a fresh tropical floral that gets better with age. When I first got it, it was a tad sharp. After a month, it became a frangipani dominate spa scent. My husband likes this, and it is one of the few he has actually said he likes. It lasts around 4-5 hours on me.

Crisp jasmine top notes before the frangipani. Sharp yet delicate. White floral. Feminine. Hints of neroli and orange blossom in the heart notes. Beautiful. Moderate silage and moderate longevity. Beautiful bottle that lays down flat. Becomes better with age.

Jewel is the definition of pretty! This creamy and dewy white flowers scented fragrance is the closest thing I've ever had to my ideal fragrance. Light and classy, it is both sparkling and feminine. This fragrance is a definite must have.

Pleasant, light, fresh, I smell the frangipani and a little pear. The coconut milk adds a little depth and creaminess. All and all a good blind buy. Safe for small quarters, offices, etc.

Am enjoying Jewel. I can see it cutting thro the deep cold of Northern Ontario. Shi I like for summer. Years back tried Pure very impressed makes me want to get them all.

Jewel is a lovely scent that combines sweet and crispy, juicy and clean in one sparkly and dreamy floral bouquet. I picture a beautiful girl in a white dress with flowing long hair standing at the edge of a clear pond with water lilies when I wear this scent. Jewel has beautiful silky excellence of a white floral combined with the pure and innocent charm of clear and gentle luxurious soap. The scent opens with crispy and fresh blend of neroli. In a few minutes, the scent unveils the lovely layer of juicy fruits. The orange blossom and neroli keep this scent crisp and fresh. The creamy jasmine and frangipani are lush but not cloying. In the heart stage, the scent acquires slightly soapy qualities but it does not overpower this scent. I would describe it as creamy and crisp floral with just a touch of soap to keep it fresh. Unfortunately the scent becomes extremely light in the dry down. It smells clean and soapy but I was hoping for more noticeable creamy and silky notes from the coconut and plum. The longevity is not that great on my skin. I keep on reapplying but the scent is lovely in the first couple of hours. Overall score is 7.5/10. I do prefer this scent to other soapy floral scents. It has well-balanced bouquet and the soapy notes do not drown other notes. It is great for spring and summer.

Be patient! The initial blast is cheap and bordering on aggressive, BUT after 20 or so minutes it mellows and becomes more beautiful as it ages. It probably would require reapplication, or intentional skin prep to make it a whole day, but the wafts that I get every time I move my arm are worth it! 0 - 20 minutes: Harsh neroli then eventually abrasive/ screechy white florals, not lactonic or indolic at all to my nose. 20 minutes - 3 hours: If you make it through, the orange blossom starts to bloom, then the pear and frangipani start to creep in. There's a lush almost creamy quality to the combination and it's so stunning! 3 hours - ?: The sillage becomes more intimate and the coconut more present. It's not a sunscreen type of coconut, but a freshly opened coconut with woody fiber and creamy flesh. It smooths out the black locust, like the dreamest citrus blossom mousse, but there's a hint of something giving it a bit of gravity. Maybe it's plum or black current, of which I never got a distinct impression.

At first, I absolutely HATED this. It was a blind buy because it had some unique notes (Black locust). All I got on the first 2 tests was a headache-inducing, pungent, heady floral with nothing to anchor it down. It was appalling. I have had it in my possession now for about a month. The climate where I live has not really changed dramatically. I sprayed it for test #3, and now I am getting some of the deeper notes coming through and I am liking it! So weird how a fragrance can change. Not sure if it is because it got aerated during shipment and went through temperature changes, or if it needed to macerate, or you just need to "prime" the sprayer, or just need to get used to the notes, ..... anyway, it's weird, but now I am enjoying this much more! I am looking forward to wearing this for work. It's a pretty, feminine, delicate, and innocent scent. A brunch scent, a bridal scent, a running to the grocery store scent. Unassuming, light floral with a bit of sweet depth wafting through.

To me, this is very light, airy. I blind bought it because it seemed heavy on white florals (which I love!) and I'm pretty happy with my purchase. On me, it starts out very heavy on pear. This disappoints me a little, because I don't usually love fragrances that are fruit based. But at least the pear is very fresh and not cloying. The pear stays, but after the first hour or so it just lurks in the background. Then the neroli comes out, and turns the fragrance soapy for a while. I'm loving that so I'm not complaining! Then I can smell a whole lot of frangipani and jasmine, and a tiny bit of plum. No coconut whatsoever on my skin. To me, this is a very playful scent. More innocent than serious. I'll file this in my "likes, not loves" folder. :) It's very fresh and airy and will be nice for summer but the staying power is sadly pretty bad on me.

I would say this is a juicy, white floral scent ,aquatic even, which is not my type at all, I go more for the warmer,full bodied fragrances - but yet, for some reason this has an appeal to me. The whispery exotic flora make their appearance first on my skin. A little bit later orange blossoms , or more like orange blossom buds, like when you sniff them real close! - almost bitter but in a clean , refreshing way , the pear (which I'm learning I like alot in these lighter type scents) really contributes its just right sweetness, "juiciness". The coconut is very, very subtle in this , but yet giving a delicate creaminess to Jewel. For me this is a very feminine, well composed,yes, delicate perfume, a water nymph fragrance if you will. The bottle reminds me of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale , The Snow Queen - beautiful!

For me, this is a light, fresh, juicy floral. Very wearable for the office, even if it's a little strong in the morning. It dries down to a nice soapy clean scent - but not too soapy. I found the sillage and longevity to be quite good, although others here seemed to have a problem with it. I'm glad I bought this, and the price was great. This is also a great one to wear to bed after taking a nice hot shower. ETA: The opening of Jewel reminds me very much of Oriflame's Grace. Both open with the same big white flowers. But the dry downs are completely different - Grace is a warm vanilla-y musk and Jewel is kinda soapy. I love them both!

Big fan of Alfred Sung as many of his fragrances are easy for me to wear or blend well with my chemistry, every perfume of his smells from first spray to a card the same on my skin. When finding fragrances this is a good indicator for me. Jewel was a gift I wanted Sha at the time which I love. I received many compliments from women at work which I reserved this for, it is a soft floral that lingers not sharp but lovely like a spring garden late afternoon. I liked this fragrance for winter as the lasting notes on me are warming, soft, and linger.

Nice spring/Summer time scent. I am detecting the Orange blossom and Jasmine the most but the slight bit of coconut tones down the scent of the white floral. It comes in a pretty nice bottle and it can be purchased at a pretty great price. Just spray this one lightly though or it may become suffocating to people who are more so sensitive to fragrances. Its worth the price its sold for :) I just want to add that this perfume lasts a long time so its definitely worth the price :)

A sweet tropical white floral. There is nothing offensive or offputting about this, but I find it a bit too floral and nothing else. There is nothing spicy or fresh or fruity on me, and it seems to be missing a solid base note, like woods or musk or vanilla. The bottle is very pretty, like a jewel sculpture, with the sprayer at the bottom. Worth having if you like to collect pretty bottles, but for me, the fragrance is nothing special.

This is a cheaper (somewhat more toned down) version of Thierry Mugler Alien. It's pretty much pure jasmine, not as much coconut and tropicalness as I'd hoped, but this definitely has its place. I might wear it to a cocktail bar or something. Not unpleasant, not my favorite. I'll wear it sometimes, maybe to a cocktail bar, or karaoke.

I blind bought Jewel based on the notes and reviews. It's an interesting combination of tropical notes with a touch of something aquatic. I smells reminiscent of a nice sunscreen in the best way possible. I prefer this perfume in the summer as it's easy to wear and makes me think of sunshine and beaches.

This is a just "okay" fragrance .Creamy floral/fruit opening it moves into a I-am-eatting-a-whole-wheat-bagel-while-near-fruit(peach/pear/melon)and flowers. Possible occasional tiny whiffs of cedar/pepper-maybe. The bottle is gorgeous but the scent is kinda boring.Pretty safe for work scent though .

I like this fragrance in the summer, especially hot humid summer days. It cuts through the heat nicely. Feels cooling ,without any sickly sweetness. I smell a hint of lily of the valley, even though it isn't listed. A great go-to , everyday fragrance. Suitable for the office. Beautiful bottle!!!

First whiff: Pretty. Very light. Delicate floral and fruit. Dry down: A skin-scent. Faint. Doesn't last very long. Inoffensive. Clean. Pleasant. The kind of fragrance that doesn't wear you, but you wear it. Unlikely to ruffle any feathers or give anyone a headache.

I've grown to like this a lot. I smell a lot of orange blossom in this, with a bit of jasmine. Sometimes orange blossom can be too sweet to me, but the jasmine tones that down. This is a pretty floral scent for every day, like most of Alfred Sung's fragrances.

This is a good summertime fragrance. The white florals give it a mature vibe. Not overly sweet, more fresh and floral. I kind of get an aquatic feel though it's not that kind of perfume. I enjoy it. It's a safe fragrance to wear anywhere, it's clean and fresh.

Pretty, delicate, fresh, calming floral. Meadow flowers and a clean, light breeze. Thought I smelled apple, but from the listed notes I guess it's pear which lends a nice juicy effect. Just wish it were stronger and longer lasting

The epitome of tenderness and refinement... almost ethereal. A little goes a long way, and it lasts all day. I’m a sucker for the 1900s and the early 2000s, and this one never disappoints. I wear it all year round. BEAUTIFUL!

Could anyone tell me if Jewel is anything like Azuree Soleil(perhaps due to the coconut)? I would like to buy this unsniffed and it were perfect if similar to Azuree Soleil or Bronze Goddess. thx

pretty, refreshing, soapy on me. very light. most perfumes last all day on me, but sadly jewel doesn't :( i got it at a very cheap price at tj maxx, but probably won't be buying it again.

On me this starts a fresh citrusy floral, going to a pear heavier floral. It stays close to the skin, lasts about 3 hrs. Nice for work. Love the bottle.

I really like Jewel. It is sharp to friendly it up I layer it with a coconut body spray. I can see this combo being my go to this summer.

I received Alfred Sung's "Jewel" perfume this afternoon (January 2018). This is my second Sung fragrance purchase after "Shi". This was a blind-buy based on reviews, and I battled with buying "Jewel" or "Pure". As others have mentioned, the bottle design is simple but aesthetically pleasing. When I sprayed it, the first blast was strong and quite loud. I tried it on my skin, paper, and a top, just to gauge its performance and transformation throughout the day. I don't see myself using this during the winter and certainly not directly sprayed on my skin. I think it would work better during the Spring and Summer months, and maybe even Fall when it's still warm. "Jewel's" dry-down is quite lovely. It leaves a soft, clean smell, so it's best to use it on freshly bathed and moisturized skin for that fresh just-showered scent. Give it a few minutes to dry down before dressing and use a light hand if you must spray it on your top. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and looking forward to seeing how it performs in the warmer months.
