Oh!! my pure perfume! About a decade ago, when i was in college, me and my close friend always gossiped and talked about two guys who always acted weird at us, very funny indeed. there one of the guy who always complimented me how good i smell, the other guy winked, smiling crooked at us and it was all hilarious to think now. when we go to computer classes we rushed by taking the notebooks, and busily spraying the perfume. when we entered the town bus, every person sitting looked at us with admiring smile coz of the fragrance. when we reach the class, girls always say "thank god pinchu has come, now we can smell something fresh" (LOL) how good those years were... I forgot the name of this perfume and it was a gift. I was disappointed when i ran out of it. Kept the bottle upto 2008 and I had to shift to capital city for my post graduation studies. The empty bottle was thrown away by someone while I was not there, may be a part of cleaning. Now, today I got my lovely juice back, my mind went back to 2006 when me and my friend wearing this perfume, showing faces (funny) and seriously discussing issues about those guys that have long since ceased to matter. I dont even know where they are now... About the perfume: Pure is pure perfume. subtle, clean, sophisticated, fresh floral vibe, nothing so close to the noted mentioned here. It smells deliciously fresh. Creamy soft perfume.I Love it a lot.

Alfred Sung Pure: Have just purchased a bottle of this perfume after reading all the reviews of it on here. Have Wore it now a good few times & I absolutely love Love LOVE IT & have received sooooooooooo many compliments from friends,family,work colleagues & total strangers!! Pure starts of with a refreshing Lemon/Citrusy blast,which then quickly turns into the most beautiful white flowers!! A stranger actually thought that I was wearing Estee Lauder Pleasures & when I said no I wasn't it's Pure by Alfred Sung I don't think he believed me lol!! Perhaps it does kinda smells a bit like Pleasures (both floral) but Pure is most certainly cleaner/fresher & Deffo purer!! Think of pure clean fresh mountain air in Switzerland,add a hint of fresh squeezed Lemon juice, & then some clean pure Crystal cold water from a mountain stream, then add freshly cut white flowers & mix it altogether!! This is deffo what Pure by Alfred Sung smells like To Me!! A certain shower freshness anytime of the day, & totally perfect for warm muggy kinda day's!! Has this beauty now been discontinued?? If so why?? As again it's another hidden beauty that deserves more than that!! Gorgeous Point Blank!! Love the design of the bottle, but have to agree about the awful cheap tacky looking top!! It really lacks any quality feel or expense!!

I think it’s been reformulated. Or I’m just used to stronger scents. I bought it originally sometime between 1997 and 1999. It was strong and very laundry detergent like. I actually wanted to smell it after reading in a magazine about it. A man commented that it smelled like mango and fresh laundry and he loved it on his GF. I’ve never really gotten much fruit from it, maybe a hint of some kind of citrus. I remember I had a friend who lived with us and she would always use it without asking which irritated me, lol. We loved it! I bought a bottle off Fragrancenet last year, now I get more of a lotion or clean vibe, not straight up laundry detergent. For me, it’s mostly floral (orchid and lily) with sandalwood and amber. I wish it was as strong as it used to be. In fact, maybe the cinnamon was more prominent before. Back then it was Pure bliss. I don’t think I ever went through a bottle as quick as I did. Now it’s a strong like, but still one of my favorites from the 90’s. If you like Noa Cacheral or BBW Magic in the Air, you’ll probably like this. This may even have more finesse than those. All similar perfumes.

My first thought was this is a wedding!! This is like a wedding in a bottle. One spray and you are in the middle of an all white wedding, from the flowers, decorations, wedding cake and the dress. That was my first impression when I experienced Pure for the first time. I went and researched Alfred Sung and sure enough he makes wedding dresses among other things. This man knows weddings. This fragrance is perfect, lots and lots of white flowers, I have never smelt anything so pure white before. Lasts forever, doesn't lose it's identity and yes it's perfect for weddings. I went and purchased another bottle, because even though I am not getting married (already am) it is also a perfect fragrance to wear to weddings or social occasions which deserve a little extra effort. This is a beautiful perfume befitting of the name Pure.

Pure is the perfect name for this fragrance! It opens with a zesty, juicy grapefruit-like scent (-pineapple and tangerine tango!). It is so fresh, clean, slightly soapy from the florals and sandalwood. This mouthwatering perfume delights me with its light, airy yet heady blend of spicy florals-almost candied florals. Peony and Orchid Blooms and Lily are tame yet noticeable. I do get that reference of an 'OIL OF OLAY' vibe!!! sooo clean! .Pure dries down to a smooth ambery and woodsy scent that projects quite well and from the compliments I recieve, the longevity is great! the muskiness adds some depth and sensuality to the scent and the cinamon is light but delightful! I am so Lucky to still own a full bottle. It is all about refreshing waterfalls, deep forest, lush woodsy trails and a post picnic midday nap ♥

I have A LOT of fragrances, and so it takes a lot to impress me. This one does, on a few accounts. It really is a lovely scent for the price, firstly. It is a fresh, green floral. No "cheap" to be detected. Lasting power could be better, but not bad at all.. Doesn't turn strange after a while. One of the few scents I receive compliments on. I would say it was a successful blind buy. Great for spring, summer. Office. The only criticism, and it was brought up by another poster, is the cheap cap. Mine won't even fit on properly, so the bottle can only sit on my vanity, and cannot travel. I can see that Sung Jewel resembles this scent, but is more green, less floral. Both are fantastic. So far i am really loving the Sung perfumes, one hit after another!!!

This scent is very fresh, clean, and well, pure. I am comfortable wearing this both in a tight classroom and in a patient's room. I've not had anyone comment that it was unpleasant, and I work with tons of people. Some folks are ill and quite sensitive to scent, so inoffensive is a big deal to me. However, "inoffensive" does not mean "boring". I feel clean and fresh wearing this, an I smell great, a combination of the just-right amounts of flowers, sunshine, skin, and clean. This is a winner!

I chose this as my wedding scent after doing some Youtube research...I wasn't even aware that Sung was known for wedding fragrances. Soooooo happy I made this choice for my special day. Sometimes I just open and smell the cap and smile. This is a simple yet sophisticated scent. Perfect balance of a clean, soapy, floral smell . A classic GEM!

I second the review immediately below. This is a very nice floral feminine scent. The bottle is ok but the cap is awful, both in terms of esthetics and function. Not easy to find these days. Mine's from the clearance perfume rack at SDM, where it makes an appearance once in a while; I've also seen it at Rexall (in Canada).

Loved this since I first bought it back in 1998. It is a unique fragrance. I had to smell it after I read in a magazine where a man commented that it smells like mangoes and fresh laundry and he loved it on his girlfriend. I love it too even though I prefer spicy and fruitty scents.

Pure smells how the bottle looks... soft, creamy, soapy, musky, pinapple goodness... it's subtle but lingers throughout the day. It's unique in my collection and a perfect, clean daily scent.

like putting on a crisp clean white shirt. feeling very put together and ready to take on the day. a great way to start the day. pleasant, uplifting, everyday scent.

I think that alfred sung never disappoints me with his perfumes....I am simply in love with his scents....

I love Alfred Sung's "Pure" and will likely be done with it by the time summer's rolling around ; ) I have two other Sung fragrances (Shi, which I absolutely love and Jewel that I'm not too keen on). This is a light, green, citrusy, sparkly scent. When I first sprayed it, I thought...oh wow, it's a little screechy. But this was probably because I had just smelled something else that was more on the sweet and berry side, so of course, this would smell "tart". I just used it today and LOVE how fresh it is, particularly when it's had a few minutes to settle. It smells wonderful on clean, moisturized skin, and better on a top. It will last longer this way since longevity is weak. Sillage is moderate when first sprayed. I love the orchid note when tastefully done as is the case with "Pure". Orchid has a tendency to pack quite a punch in other perfumes I own, so I'm thrilled that it's so well balanced in Pure, given its combination with tangerine, lily, amber, and sandalwood. This fragrance is very appropriate for daytime wear including the office. It's inoffensive and by the time you get to your workplace, it will have dried down to something soft and pleasant. It will easily receive lots of compliments as others have mentioned, just because it's so clean. Just as I noticed with Shi and Jewel, I highly doubt I'd use this during the summer. I have a bad feeling it would become cloying/sharp/tart, so I'd rather enjoy it during the Spring and Fall/Winter months. If I encounter cooler weather in the summer, I may spritz it, but I think for me (and my chemistry), this is a Spring scent. As others have mentioned, goodness, the top is CHEAP and TACKY! I have to fool with it to get it to close properly. Next time, I won't buy the 3.4 oz/100ml bottle. It's easier to handle a smaller flanker since it's so smooth and oval/round in shape. This is a safe blind-buy and looks like a definite repurchase for me.

02-02-23: I do appreciate a Clean Girl accord, especially during the hotter months. I'm not opposed to floral notes that predominate among other complimentary notes. But unfortunately, Alfred Sung's Pure is a bit of a meh for me because of the Lily note. Of course, people really do experience scent differently: some of us aren't even able to smell certain notes when others can. I feel for people who sniff flowers and experience the smell of poop! For me the smell of most flowers ranges from neutral to lovely. That said, I've never enjoyed the smell of Lilies, which smell rubbery and unnatural to me. Alfred Sung's fragrances are well blended, so it isn't as though Pure's Lily note hits me over the head. But most people have indicated Lily is the strongest note of Pure, so I suspect that is the reason I'm not a big fan. Still, I recognize this is not an offensive fragrance. As others have said, as a soapy smell, it's kind of fancy. So I spray it on before going outdoors in the heat, hoping I smell fresh even though I know I'll break a sweat. 03-19-23: Not sure what's going on here. Maybe my scent detection nerve cells have changed over the last month? Or maybe the chemical nature of this juice has changed some? But this morning, I asked my partner to pick a bottle from my collection, and spray it on me without my knowing what it was. I had a hard time guessing, and I found it pleasant. When I finally figured it out, using a process of elimination, I was surprised at how pleasant I found it. Further, despite there being zero scent notes in common, I do detect a similar buttery DNA that I get from my Alfred Sung Jewel juice. I guess it makes sense due to similar accords, if not actual notes (see both accord diagrams if your interested). I really love my Jewel fragrance... and now Pure is really growing on me. Go figure... 🦋🧡🦋

I've had Pure for a while and did not even think to do a review about it. That is the invisible player we have here. There really isn't anything to gripe about. It's a clean floral, with a kiss of cinnamon-woodiness, and amber resin to prevent the white florals from going off rails. It smells like an office scent: inoffensive in close quarters, with a professional air about it. I'm not sure if the name Pure has much to do with the contents, but the scent has great environmental versatility and is fantastic layered with other perfumes, and I often do. For me, the squeaky clean gardenia can often crush my brain's sensory upload mechanism, and when paired with a softer scent profile, harmony restores itself, and louder tones become tolerable again. But for the price, there's not much to lose. I've heard the rumors that it was being discontinued, and more and more difficult to find. I don't know that struggle. Mine was purchased swiftly and easily. I desired ownership for more than just the fragrance. I wanted this initially for the release year, 1997. Yes, I'm that kind of ceremonial when it comes to things, especially perfume. Because of this reverence, the scent represents more to me than just fruity floral frugality. I associate it with a significant period of time in my life. Perfume is fantastic this way! Our on-hand time machine and transporter. As Dr. Seuss said famously, "Oh the places you will go!" And I like to follow that with, 'Oh, the places I've been!'

At first, I found this meh ok, but dull. Then it started to really grow on me it is a bit different from the average floral soapy fumes. There is a similar spice note in it that Far Away Avon has although the two are completely different scents OfCourse maybe it's the amber. I think that the cinnamon note in it gives it that ripened soft, spicy twist that's very yummy to me. Its fresh and light but cozy to me at the same time. I sent my last almost full bottle to my mom /along with tons other fumes after all, she is the reason for my addiction to perfumes in the first place/. I'm thinking I'm going to have to get some more of this for spring/ summer. Definite LIKE for me maybe more down the road who knows. EDIT I do have an old bottle stashed away as well after all, very old--15 years or more-- almost full /sent mom the latest bottle/ formulation/ I got a year ago, but it was nice still. I recall being complimented on this scent-by a guy friend. Also, the longevity was nothing to write home about. Barely wore it back then. though I liked it. Will wear more-possibly get more. As one reviewer said it DOES smell like Nivea creme. I love the Nivea smell too.

I ordered this blind but I swear someone from my childhood must have worn this. It is familiar and gives intense associations with the late 90s, early 2000s. The era of Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea and Avon ladies - when my mother would be dressing in her business casuals before heading to the office. It is a light, well-rounded fragrance with a citrus/fruit heart that is not sour or fleeting. The florals and woods temper it to feel breezy, even faintly dewy at times. Almost fizzy. It reminds me of warm mornings in the late spring when the sun is shining through the window, hints of green leaves and small blossoms wafting in the air. Based on the cinnamon, amber, and wood base notes, I expected this to be warmer. But it is purely refreshing. I detect no cinnamon at all, and the amber is only an accent, not a cloying foundation. It may be a bit strong on the hottest, most humid days, but otherwise invigorating and unobtrusive.

Most of the reviews on here- for this - are way off-base! I bought this at T.J. Marshalls / Ross for $14.99 - blind buy because the creme colored box features white flowers on it--and that usually indicates....GARDENIA. And I was right. This opens up with some fruit then Gardenia dominates with a hint of wood and musk as a light base. This smells very much like Elizabeth Taylors Gardenia with a bit of Madonna's Truth of Dare in the mix. And there is some soapiness therein as other have said - but this is a Gardenia based fragrance for sure! The bottle in nice as well! Great blind buy for me as I go through Gardenia "cheapies" like they are water! If you like white floral this is for YOU. Longevity is fair. This smells REALLY lovely as a "skin scent" when it dries......

This was the 1st perfume I've ever owned. A gift from my grandmother when I was 13 years old, I used to love it so much I used up my bottle very quickly and it was so hard to find in my country that I couldn't repurchase. but now after years without smelling it and purchasing it for nostalgia I just can't believe I loved it that much. It smells like a clean old lady and gives me a little nausea. Edit: after 30 mins it smells awesome. not old lady at all. How can a perfume change so much after a few minutes? now I love it and I totally remember why I used up my first bottle so quickly. I guess I'll just have to spray it and cover my nose for 30mins from now on.

I have a few Alfred Sung fragrances and this was actually my first buy years ago. Florals have pretty much been a signature of this house. This opens with bright freshness and the heart is white florals with gardenia dominating. On my skin, a little goes a long way especially with Sung fragrances. On me, these fragrances last a good 4-5 hours without reapplication. This is good for day wear and would make a pretty bridal scent. It reminds me of my fresh garden gardenias in bloom. Sweet heady fragrance at the heart. On dry down, I still get whiffs as I go about my day. Overall, versatile feminine floral.

This is a pleasant clean, floral forward scent. We get a little fruitiness from the tangerine in those top notes, but the other fruit note listed (pineapple) is truly undetectable for me. Other than that, the florals really steal the show here. I used to work in a flower boutique and this scent certainly transports me back there. It very much reminds me of an expensive French bar of soap. I’m a big fan of clean smelling perfumes, so this will fit in nicely with my lineup. While it’s not a love, I do enjoy it. Blind buy safe if you’re a big fan of the ‘clean girl’ perfume aesthetic.

Delicate gentle scent, reminds me of a girl walking by and smelling great, but I am not sure she's actually wearing a perfume, more of a combo of makeup/hairspray/lotion. This is lilly, fressia, delicate gardenia, soft citrus and intrestingly enough pineapple, which blends amazingly here. Potion formula combined well. Soft, cozy daytime perfume. I am wearing it in the summer heat and performs great. Moderate silage 4 hours, wears closer to skin afterwards. This is one of those late 90s early 2000s gems, I am glad to have.

Pure is such an appropriate name for this scent--it's "pure" in a very clean and fresh way. This is such an easy perfume to wear, perfect for any occasion, never overpowering or "too much". This is one of the few perfumes that I've received compliments on, but I can understand why as it's just such a pretty and uncomplicated (but NOT boring) perfume. My only complaint is that the cap for this bottle has to be the tackiest and cheapest I've ever encountered.

It's a creamy, clean, scent. For someone who loves the scent of original, Dove soap, this is a like for me. There's kind of a regrettable "after whiff" that cheapens the fragrance a bit. Not sure what it is, but if they'd of left that out, it would have been better. Clean scents never smell "expensive," no matter who makes them, but this is a pleasant scent that will draw others in to you.

I agree this is a clean girl kind of scent A bit soapy in a petfumey way but not tropical shampoo like Miami glow It reminds me alot of Jaipur bracelet by bouchern but less interesting and less sophisticated More appropriate for casual wear edit: I like to spray it on clothes before putting them in the dryer, they smell good. but I dont like it on my skin

Pure Bar Soap! It's a bit tangy at first but it dires down to bit a slightly sharper version of the original 212 by Carolina Herrera. I finally got round to wearing them both (one on each arm!) and to be honest they're so alike that I don't need to keep both. Pure is a bit more sprightly and clean, 212 is a bit creamier and cosy. Both are lovely!

My first impression is lemon/citrus soap, slightly sharp but not strong. To me this fragrance smells clean rather soapy, with a feeling of "soap that cuts through grease". It is pleasant, light and understated and would probably be best worn in the summertime to counteract hot and humid weather. On a soapiness scale it's a basic cleansing bar.

I bought a bottle of Pure and used it non-stop until it was gone. Then I bought Pure Moment which I liked better but they are very similar. It is a sweet fragrance that can be a little overbearing but is still pleasant. I would not repurchase this one, although I wouldn't mind a bottle of Pure Moment if I happen to find one on my travels.

This is a nice clean scent. Perfect for everyday wear in the summer. Doesn't have the best longevity but a lot of fresh and citrusy scents have that issue. I get about three to four hours tops and then I would have to reapply. It's a pleasant and inoffensive so you can wear anywhere.

I don't care much for florals, but this is such a clean, pretty one, and has a nicely balanced quality. It has decent longevity, and is suitable to wear anyplace. Perfect for those times when I want a clean, slightly soapy scent, and its very affordable!

Lovely light parfums for really any occasion. I think it’s a very inoffensive fragrance, especially because people will probably just get a whiff of it when you walk pass. I prefer to wear this fragrance at work.

Definitely a “clean girl” scent! I go through phases when I adore those soapy florals! This one is an easy reach when I’m in those moods! It’s fresh and bright and puts me in a good mood!

Beautiful soapy white floral. Feels like walking through a flower garden after showering. It has gentle projection. And if sprayed on clothes lastes quite a while.

NOT discontinued as I thought! Sorry ! a GREAT deal for $20.00 and longevity is above and beyond !

Of all the perfumes I re-discovered (packed away in a box before I moved away for 20 years), this is the one I am most pleased about! I bought a set back in the late 90s, with a sprayer and two 5mL minis. I dabbed on from one of the minis, and here are my thoughts: this is a wonderful spring and summer scent! It's clean, fresh, light, citrusy, sparkly, and "green". It's almost like going outside and standing underneath a citrus tree just after a summer rain, when the sun has come back out (and it's perfect outside), and picking a bouquet of peony, lily, and gardenia. It's optimism and a fresh start. Definitely office-friendly, and I can't imagine anyone being annoyed by it (it sits quite close to the skin). I think guys who like aquatic scents might enjoy this one--it doesn't scream "feminine" to me.

I bought this for a pretty good price. It is a clean white Floral. ***However, it has the weird dry down cinnamon note which I really dislike. I've been trying to work my way thru this bottle. But I just really dislike the cinnamon note. If there was no cinnamon this would be a love for me.. If this had been removed it would be similar to some of my clean floral favorites ( like j lo glow or tommy girl). I find myself forcing myself not to waste it. Big disappointment. Maybe it's just my body chemistry. Buyer beware.

First initial spray is a very strong spring floral scent. Very strong; then began to soften into this soft floral medley. The dry down - after 15 minutes the florals softened more producing a lactonic creamy powdery base. Now I see why it's called a clean soapy scent. Last a good 4 to 5 hrs on me. Silage is about arms length. Not at all offensive so it's nice for eveyday or for work.

I can't give any of my impressions of the scent because I can barely smell it. Either it has no silage, or I'm completely anosmic to it, or it's potency has disappeared. Whatever the case it is disappointing because I so wanted to smell what so many others seem able to smell. Update: Wore it again this morning and still the same result. I just cannot smell this scent at all. No top notes, no middle note, and no end notes. Total Zero for me. The bottle design stinks too and has a super cheap looking plastic band around the sprayer. Clumsy design makes it difficult to spray too. I got it all over my blouse instead of my neck. Despite getting it on clothing I couldn't even smell this scent on fabric. Something is wrong here.

Pure soap, like a very rich, finely-milled, expensive hand soap. There's a burst of tangerines at the outset, then it turns musky with sweet green floral and layered with an airiness. There are some woody undertones to balance it, but they are quite faint. This has a vintage, almost romantic feel to it, somewhat like a Victorian era. Sung sits very close to the skin lasting a few hours. Perfect for a day strolling through antique shops nestled in a quaint village.

It isn't that the smell of this is unpleasant. It isn't. But... it gave me a massive headache for some reason. At first, the smell of tangerine is extremely strong, even overpowering. Then, the pineapple kicks in. It takes quite some time for those two scents to fade enough for me to smell any flowers. I don't detect any of the other notes.

Opens with a screechy blast of lemon pledge/bug spray, but settles quickly to a very fresh, floral French milled soap. A very lively scent....sadly longevity is less than 1 hour.

White floral accord in the top is a headache inducing brain drilling stuff, but the base is quite pleasant. It's nothing special at all, but I just like that kind of clean white musks, occasionally :) I've got the original vintage bottle, the scent lasts really long time. Not sure if it has been reformulated since then or not, but given the age of the perfume I wouldn't be surprised.

Not sure if I got a knockoff but this fragrance was so strong and gave me a headache.... Just smelt so chemical and unnatural... it’s a no for me.
