Eye of Seven Hills

"This perfume reminds me of" means just that, not "This perfume smells like". Having said that, Eye of Seven Hills reminds me of Initio Side Effect (which I used to own and currently own dupes of). Also reminds me of Mes Bisous Tobacco Flirting with Vanilla, which I also own. They're different scent-wise, but have a big enough similarity that's better smelled than described. I agree with Mnewk31 below. I quote, "Is this side effect? No. Is this side effect’s older half brother that got the good genes and is dark and mysterious and beats up on his younger brother? Yes. Absolutely everything side effect offers that’s great without being cloying and kiddish." I totes agree. Such a good description. I love all three, as expensive as they are, and I waited over a year for the prices to go down just a teensy bit with coupons to cerebrally justify the purchases. I'd have to put Eye of Seven Hills in #1, Side Effect in #2 and Tobacco Flirting with Vanilla in #3. I also own Lorenzo Pazzaglia Evil Angel and I think they're much different. That one smells prettier to me, very sweet and candy-like. Smells like you could drink it. However, the overall scent profile gets kind of tiresome to my nose after a while, especially because of its great longevity. Eye of Seven Hills has this sophistication that I can't put into words, though. It puts me in a particular headspace. It's so good! Like the others I mentioned, it's unique scent-wise. You could have them all and not be redundant. They all smell very different even with the similarities. I see Beso Canalla and TOB/01 up there, which I also own, but they don't remind me of this at all. Totally different scent profiles and nosefeels. Great fragrances, though. I fully recommend them! To end this, Alghabra might make expensive dupes of pricey fragrances, but they do it in such a classy way. I have Rejoice and Cuban Tobacco, and they are so refined and uniquely Alghabra. If you've smelled some of their scents, you know what I mean. The price hurts for just 50ml, but only a couple sprays is enough to get you noticed.

I think many reviewers do the scent justice so I will not rehash it, but will say the notes look about right with the whiskey and saffron being the most outstanding, with the tobacco and benzoin chasing right behind. Sample first and if you like consider Side effect as well. Here is my description of their vibes and how they stack up to each other: A 30 year old man goes to a january wedding in a posh reception hall in NYC. He is wearing a suit with a cashmere crew neck underneath with Italian designer driver shoes on with no socks. All the 20 something brides maids flirt with him and his goal is to take one of them home or at least set up a meet up for a later date. He is wearing initio Side Effect. 30 minutes later in walks his 38 year old older brother. He has on a dark 3 piece suit that command ls respect from head to toe. He arrives hand in hand with his wife who is wearing a lovely black silk dress and as the guests tell him how nice he looks he spins the compliment to acknowledge how great his wife looks. The 20 something bridesmaids all notice him, but he doesn't notice them, he's too excited to be with his wife and watch another couple tie the knot. He's wearing Eye of Seven Hills. Get it.

#649 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is an eau de parfum strength version of Maison Margiela Replica Jazz Club. Anyone who loves Jazz Club as I do is thrilled to have an EDP strength version of that wonderful EDT (Sadly the evil empire Loreal discontinued Theiry Mugler A*Men Pure Havane which was the pinnacle of boozy tobacco scents). Jazz Club is one of the very few EDTs I've continued to purchase because it is sooooo good. But let me be the first person in this review thread to tell everyone on here that if you are an Initio Side Effect, Tom Ford Tobacco Oud, Jazz Club or Alghabra Eyes of Seven Hills fan, Zara has a relatively recent $30 entry called Zara TOB/01 Tabac & Jazz. Do yourself a favor and try it before you drop $190-$380 or more on Alghabra, Initio or TF scents. There's not a lot of difference. Certainly not $350 worth of difference. This Alghabra is a great scent at a better price than Tom Ford Tobacco Oud and Initio Side Effect, and I love it. Woooooowwie! Received as a sample and wanted to buy straight away though it reminded me of Initio Side Effect and HOS no.1, so I grabbed my bottles and... Sure enough... almost a dead ringer for Side Effect and not far off HOS no.1 reminding me of why I already own both. For the life of me I can not fathom what noseless voters downvoted the similarity to Side Effect - I mean really, you’re kidding me right??? Very subtle differences - no.1 being sweeter and more synthetic, Side Effect being softer on the sweetness and darker as well as tad dustier and this being brighter and more airy yet retaining a sweeter smell. It may just also be the stronger in Sillage and possibly more natural. I can tell a difference but you should try all three - someone described HOS no.1 as a cherried tobacco and I think it’s the best simplest description. When my bottles run out this will be the replacement...

Saffron-flavored amber candy. Sweet cotton candy opening. A little sour & syrupy. Lightly warm and spicy from the saffron. That's the start. Luckily, as it dries down the sweetness dials down and it turns into this gorgeous warm saffrony amber scent. Sweet with rosey and incensy nuance. Few hours later, the sweet syrupy rose take forefront again. A little unfortunate as the middle was gorgeous. Sweet, ambery, very warm, lightly spicy, saffrony, incensy, syrupy. It's a beautiful twist to a weird opening. That warm, sweet saffron is in the same vein as Armani Rose d'Arabie and Ex Nihilo's Midnight Special. It is what gives Eyes of Seven Hills the nudge of its muse Initio Side Effect. The saffron gives it a prettier incensy aspect. A beautiful scent overall. Gets too syrupy and sweet for some. Mature, cool weather wear. Unisex but leans feminine with its sweetness. Big "Like"

Oh my, what have we here.... Initially i get a healthy dose of saffron and slightly sweet, ambery whiskey with a background note of tobacco. It's a beautiful accord and i feel like i'm not doing it justice with this description. It's slightly sweet, slightly floral, slightly boozy, a tad earthy, a tad spicy, and just all around comforting. Not sharp on the nose, somewhat unisex though maybe a tad masculine leaning. Side Effect is more masculine with its simple set of ingredients and heavy reliance on tobacco and booze notes. The vanilla, orris and tonka here definitely helps push Eye of Seven Hills in a tad more female direction but it's not enough to make it perfectly unisex, i think. This is a very interesting boozy scent. Worth trying out! I'd like to see a more feminine version of this.

This perfume is amazing! Eye of Seven Hills is really something special. 🥃 🍯🤎🌶️🏵️ This is a very interesting boozy scent with incredible longevity. It's got a perfect mix of boozy saffron, tobacco, cinnamon, vanilla, amber, and oud – perfect for anyone who loves rich, decadent, warm scents. I think it's totally unisex . It lasts forever on the skin and easily stands next to heavy-hitters like Side Effect (Initio) or Raw Gold (Thomas de Monaco) — but at a friendlier price. Honestly, I’d take it over Rosendo Mateu No5. Most perfect season for EoSH is 🍁⛄️

VERY potent. To the point of making it somewhat hard to wear if you do not like overpowering scents. I had to wipe the only spray with a tissue to make it wearable. As far as the scent goes, the side effect comparison is justified, but this is more boozy and less sweet compared to side effect. IMO this quality makes the fragrance more towards the masculine side. As it dries down, the tartness in the opening shifts to a sweeter, balanced fragrance. Definitely would recommend trying before buying. It can be overpowering gor some.

Eye of Seven Hills is another extremely special fragrance in my collection, as are all the scents I’ve gotten from the wonderful house of Alghabra. This one is whiskey-centric, supported by distinctive saffron, vanilla, tobacco, amber, and cinnamon notes. The oud is present, but subtle and well-mannered. The potent sillage is intoxicating, perfect for a night out or special occasion. The longevity can almost be measured in days rather than hours. Solidly unisex.

This is a great fragrance by the house of Alghabra. I really like this as well as Alghabra Jamaican Tobacco and Cuban Tobacco. Eye of Seven Hills is special. I get the comparison to Side Effect but they're only similar. Also, I do not get the comparison to Jazz Club. This is a solid tobacco whiskey scent that is warm and ambery, perfect for the fall and winter. This is a highly rated fragrance for a reason. Try it out! Performance is awesome. Happy scenting!

the agarwood, tonka bean, vanilla, amber, the cinnamon accord, whiskey, the whiskey mmmh mmmhh mhhh 😌🧘🏾 The tobacco balances of with the saffron, vanilla and tonka bean,the patchouli note is just a sprinkle , this is that boozy tobacco gourmand scent . I’ve not enjoyed a gourmand fragrance like this that left me wanting for more . this fragrance is a wonderful scent with massive longevity and and great projection , Leaves a beautiful scent trail behind you .

This is a cross between Initio side effect, and ganymede. Wear this at night on a date or when you want to smell the best in the rooom. For me this is perfect fragrance; a true 5/5. I would say more but I'am a reviewer of few words.

Boozy vanilla goodness. Like others have mentioned, it bears some resemblance to Side Effect, but something about it reminds me more of Narcotic Delight. Either way, an excellent, high quality fragrance.

The negative reviews here surprise me - this is a beautifully blended tobacco/whiskey scent. Great longevity, wonderful dry down.

Tried to love this one and got it in the mail as a 5ml decant. I'm wearing it currently and it is not giving me a wow factor as I thought it would. It feels incomplete and missing that ingredient to take it to the next level. It is a good scent, but not a great scent. I get the boozy whiskey scent and woods which it primarily is focused on. It has a strong saffron note off the top that can be a little meh. For the price point and it being a 50ml bottle, I'd pass on this. I'm hoping the deeper dry down brings me more love but the opening is not cutting it for me. Again, it is not bad, it just is not for me and feels incomplete or the saffron is too strong killing it. I will update again if I find the dry down more to my liking...

Eye of seven hills: I had a sample from the discovery set. After 3 wearings, it is in my "no repeat" list. It was very promising for a while, but in the end the booze was too pushy for me, and there are just other similar scents I enjoy more. I'd say it is sweet but softly so. Unisex. The spices and the vanilla/tonka/wood harmony is really pleasing. Second wear; still bothered by the booziness. Tested against Ottoman Treasure and this is definitely better of the two. So far I love Istanbul's Soul and King of Flowers but those are the only two Alghabra I love. Got a couple more to try.

While I do like it, it is just a dupe of Initio Side Effect. If that's what you're after, just get After Effect, which makes both it and the Initio redundant...completely. Even if you are a blood hound and can tell the difference, people around you will not. I have all three, and I am now comparing them side by side on skin, really very little difference if any.

Yes similar to Side effect and il padrino. I would say Il padrino > EOSH > side effect. Longevity and performance are very very good I could say it’s the best out the 3. If you are fan of the smell profile this or padrino would be a great choice but redundant to buy both or the 3! Try before you buy!

Coming back to reevaluate: I do like it well enough to wear proudly. I just have to give it 20 minutes for the booze to stop smelling like varnish. Once that settles down it is a very nice little number. Really shy though—not much reach.

This is an intense creamy bitter almond on a base of cleanish oud. Slightly sweet. The strong almondy/cyanide scent is perhaps my brain blending whisky with tonka. Quite nice. Definitely quality, and unique. Leans masculine. Not for me.

I tested Side Effect in one hand and Eye of Seven in the other. In the air, the scents feel similar, but when I take a deep smell directly from the spots where I applied them, I can clearly notice the difference in quality and depth. In my opinion, it doesn’t go beyond being a high-quality clone, and the price doesn’t really match the level of quality.

Ok, I had this on my trade list for a long time. Having sit there for so long it got on my wrist again. Every single note listed here should make this my favorite perfume in my collection. My love of this house on the longevity to price should reinforce that love. But sadly it's not. It's not boozy, ambery, or tobaccoey enough for me. It almost gives a chemical kind of vibe for me. I don't hate it, I just don't love it like labyrinth of spices and poem of demas. So if someone wants it, still available for trade.

this is great, but smells much much lighter than u expect it to tbh. super boozy opening for sure, and it’s definitely pretty similar to side effect i get that, but it doesn’t feel heavy the way that boozy tobacco scents usually do, which i thought was interesting and i didn’t really expect it. again i do really love this, the main notes i get are saffron, all of the whiskey, cinnamon, and the amber. really nice performance too, can’t go wrong with this !

I have just applied in the last half an hour and what i notice immediately is it doesn't seem that strong on the skin but i can smell it projecting on the air . I do hope it develops on my skin a little more as i like to smell the notes myself however the radiating bubble is pleasant . Also there is an obvious similarity to side effect which either i am liking the dna more or this is much more defined . Looking forward to the next few hours

Long lastingnand beautiful scent. Saffron heavy warm boozy hints of tobacco, spice. Smells like side effect but better. Side effect has almost a gasoline undertone . This has none. This is smooth, balanced sweet and warm. Sillage and longevity are through the roof! Goes on forever. Great cool weather scent. I'd wear this out for a date or out for drinks. This is not casual. Blind buy safe.

Idc what anyone says, this smells exactly like French Avenues side effect dupe but it costs me almost 200 bucks for a 50ml.. Im gonna hold this L since I already have side effect and the cheap version

Seriously if you trash this frag you have no nose. Or at least a bad one. This is a perfectly belended and comforting boozy sweet (but not too sweet) mature frag. Probably the best in this line.

Almost identical to side effect, but slightly less dense and maybe a very small powdery hint to it in comparison. Definitely redundant to have both, as the performance is similar as well

Great boozy scent with an enchanting whiskey note. It is a tamer version of Kutay. This is great for evening wear. Shukran Habibi!

Smells quite similar to Side Effect but it’s more complex and a lot more long lasting. It’s an all time favorite for me.

If you think this smells anything like Side Effect, get tested for Covid ASAP. They are absolutely nothing alike.

For me this smells very much like rosendo mateu 5.
