From the Heart

I tried From The Heart a few weeks ago at their debut at Scent Bar in Los Angeles and was astonished at how I could pick out nearly each and every note described in the line-up; peach, citrus, rose, white floral, and amber-woodiness. Usually, when I think of a fragrance as well-blended, I think of its sum being greater than its parts in a way that the parts somewhat blur together, but something about this fragrance enables the different notes to exist both separately as well as coexist together in a way that is stunning and memorable. And what lasting power, too; hours and hours and hours later (easily 12), it was still very prominent and had not devolved into anything much different. I suppose some would describe that quality as being linear but really, it starts in so many distinct directions like an orchestra playing its first notes all at once and yet, never really trailing off into discordance, breaking down little by little. For the romantic, I think the name, From The Heart, truly does this fragrance justice as an idealistic, optimistic expression of something that is true, sincere, and enduring. If this is part of Alghabra's first act, I am sure this house will be one to watch for sure.

From The Heart reads on my skin as if plums and peaches were kissing the bloody red rose petals, freshly sprinkled in juicy citruses, displaying a playful olfactory scenario with a seductive woody ambery soul. Without a doubt one of my top 3 favorites from Alghabra.

From the Heart by Alghabra Parfums is a soft, unisex white floral fragrance that feels delicate yet expressive. At its core, it beautifully showcases lily, rose, and ylang-ylang, creating a floral-forward experience. The opening is bright and lively, packed with fruity and citrusy notes that add a refreshing touch before transitioning into a smooth amber dry-down that sits softly on the skin. A certainly very well executed composition in which all notes emerge sharply. In the opening Peach with a bitter citrus vibe. Middle notes are mostly floral: initially a very present damask rose then lily acting as a transition towards an amber base where white flowers are still on the line. Personally not a pyramid that I am used to and I would grow fond of. Despite all, the result could look very pleasing to all lovers of this genre. (maximum 3.9 my vote)

On my skin, this doesn't smell like Musk Therapy, not even close. I tested my FB of Musk Therapy and my sample of From the Heart, and nope. MT is a fluffy, slightly sweet & citrus musk. On my skin, this damn near a dupe of MFK 724. I tested it against my bottle of 724 and it's a slightly more floral, slightly more feminine version, a bit more linear version. What 724 smells like in the beginning is what From the Heart smells like throughout the life of the fragrance. MFK dries down with BR540 woodiness and hard to put into words cozy feeling. From the Heart is a clean laundry, aldehydic floral, fizzy. Not fluffy. The performance is pretty great actually. One spray and it projects pretty far and sticks on skin for a good 10 hours.

Shampoo of Paradise. Clean soapy fruity scent. It's smells like tropical or exotic advertised shampoo. Reminds me of Johnson and Johnson No Tears babies shampoo. Peach sweet fruitiness & lilies clean, watery soapiness. Fresh, clean, soapy, fruity, sweet, musky, cool-feeling, lightly aquatic. The lily here is very soapy. Beautifully done. People who want to smell like they just got out of the shower, try this. Neutral weather wear. Leans feminine with its sweet soapiness. Big "Like".

Notes on the carded sample I received are a little different from what's shown here: Top: Bergamot, peach, bitter orange Heart: Damask rose, lily Base: Amber, white musk Classy and feminine. Personally not my kind of scent, but it's not bad. I get a lot of white floral and amber– it reminds me a little of Alien in that way. There's also a general floral-citrus air to it. Overall the effect is sort of like if you were to make an Alien-scented shampoo set.

This smells like shampoo to me in the opening and it lasts for some time. After about an hour, it begins to smell like the opening of Andromeda. Sillage and longevity are good. Love the dry down but the opening just spoils this for me.

I don’t typically favor florals but I didn’t mind this one, I wish the peach had more star power but overall I’m sad to say this is forgettable. I love the name and I wanted to like it for this reason :(

It smells like a perm lotion of fruity smell... An intense amber and patchouli make me nauseous. phenolic ylang-ylang and the lily have no harmony and chemical peach... meh. A total disaster.
