King of Flowers

Ok, not sure why because they have totally different notes but this smells light a slightly less potent Encens Suave by Matiere. As soon as I smelled this, that was the first thing I thought. Not a fan. I don't vibe with Encens Suave either. Glad I only got a decant. Edit: today is 7/24/24. I just bought a full bottle of this. Yes, I have done a complete 180 in my thoughts of this frag. I couldn't stop spraying my decant. And a few weeks ago I got a decant of Absolute Aphrodisiac which I fell in love with...but it was a mere whisper, even on my clothes. This is Absolute Aphrodisiac on steroids and I've grown to love and crave this profile. It's cozy, comforting, heavy on the vanilla, ambery, dark, spiced and right up my alley. Some of my favorite frags in my collection started out as dislikes. This does not smell like Encens Sauve...not at all and I'm surprised that I thought it did. Still don't like that one. Weird how things like this happen. Whatever, I love it and happy that a bottle is on its way to me. 😁

King of flowers—silly name. Definitely king of amber and sandalwood, and maybe bergamot. I detect very little floral scent, but vanilla is a player. it’s a stately, gorgeous number—both friendly and sexy, good for lots of settings, as long as you like warm, sweet gourmands. I love this through and through. It doesn’t seem to change a lot beyond the opening of about 10-15 minutes... not a chameleon. I rarely say this, if ever, but this reads as mature to me. It has gravitas. Not that a young person finding their way in life couldn’t really love this, but I say that because I think it brings sophistication to the occasion you wear it (yeah... and I’m wearing it at home with yoga pants at the moment—LOL.) Anyway, it may be a struggle for me not to buy a full bottle, even though it has gotten rather faint after 3 hours. I'll continue to test on that...

Sexy smoldering sandalwood. However, the name and notes are confusing me here. For starters, there's nothing floral about this fragrance. If you concentrate hard enough, you can pick up slightly powdery nuances from the iris- but that's about it. Secondly, it's incredibly smoky and smells like an actual burning sandalwood incense stick. Lastly, in the background theres a thick and sweet borderline gourmand vanilla that makes just want to indulge in your own scent trail. This gets compared to Initio Absolute Aphrodisiac a lot, which I would agree. However, I think King of Flowers works better because you get a photorealistic burning incense vs. synthetic smoky leather notes.

I believe I have found a new fall/winter staple for me. The name is a bit misleading, this isn't a floral scent. Right out of the bottle the Citrus pops your nostrils open to accept the creamy gourmand Amber Vanilla that is the star of this fragrance. The Citrus is just an opener and leave fairly quickly and you begin to pick up the light powder from the iris and lavender. But these are still just supporting notes to the thick amber vanilla. It all comes together into a scent confection I want to eat. And my god this stuff lasts forever. It has a small but incredibly dense scent bubble with WELL over 12 hour longevity. 10/10

This is a cozy, beautiful, warm, predominantly vanilla perfume. My guess is that the name King of Flowers may refer to the vanilla planifolia orchid flower. As the perfume settles in, the spicy woods start to come through. This is often compared to Initio Absolute Aphrodisiac but I actually prefer King of Flowers for its scent, sillage, and longevity. I absolutely love Eye of Seven Hills from Alghabra, so I knew there was a good chance I would get along with King of Flowers too. Phenomenal value. Not the cheapest, but the quality of ingredients and skill of the perfumer are evident in both Alghabra perfumes that I have.

King of Flowers by Alghabra Parfums is a spicy, ambery, woody-vanilla fragrance that carries a subtle elegance throughout its development. OMG - gorgeous stinker! Clearly Alghabras take on V&R Spicebomb, Initio Rehab, Pierre Guillaume Liquer Charnelle, HdP 1899 etc etc (I own them all 🙄 so yes, I know they are all different though subtlety). I received a Sample Discovery kit and as per the Algahbra bottles I already own, every one so far has been an EXCEPTIONAL performer. This one is no exception and I think possibly the most interesting. It flits between the above scents and a syrupy oily vanilla like Ex Idolo Love and Crime and Pierre Guillaume Felanilla. Either way I’m impressed I’d be buying a bottle if I didn’t have so many similar...

This s a gorgeous scent and honestly? I don't expect less from this house. There isn't any vanilla listed in the notes but i suppose the flowers in the mid blend into a vanillic accord. Amongst the vanillas I have been rocking in cooler weather, this is a slam dunk. It has great longevity and sillage persists for quite a while about an arms-length away. Love this stuff. The new Vanilla scent from Ormonde Jayne is another one to check out this season if you love vanillas. Overall 4.4 definitely a love at first sniff scent fragrance.

Spicy powdery vanilla with a soft & dark amber. The name is a bit of a misnomer, the emphasis here is not on the florals, not in the least. Very beautiful and wearable, perfect all year round except for summer.

I love this. The iris and sandalwood are the most prominent. It Becomes powdery. Has a classic vibe. I was surprised “violet” wasn’t listed as a note. It is not what I would call “flowery”.

This smells just like one of my favourite candles. Though I love it, not sure if I want to smell like my favourite candle. But Imma get it because I just can't forget it!!!

Delicate amber spicy Fragrance with a special touch of vanilla. The performance is great: it lasts about 10 hours on my skin with moderate sillage. I love it !!! ❤️

If you love spice, you love this. The citrus and amber go well together, you can layer this with a fresh scent and it'll really bring out that spice.

Fantastic spicy vanilla amber fragrance. A nice sweetness to it. 9/10 Blind buy safe if you like vanilla fragrances. 50/50 Unisex. I love it.

Am I the only one who picks up subtle hints of queening? Smells a lot more masculine and oriental but a little bit of the vanilla undertones

It's a dark, mysterious and very interesting fragrance! A classy chocolate sweet vanilla & balsamic scent, I just love it!

This is a beautiful sweet-amber-floral fragrance that most reminds me of Diptyque's 'Benjoin Boheme'

Simple but intoxicating, especially in winter season now.

Sour Labdanum. Another misnomer from Alghabra Parfums. I mean there Aventus clone is called "City of Jasmine". KoF starts with warm resinous labdanum, that has a moderate sourness. The sourness is balsamic rather than citrusy. Slowly becomes sweeter, turning that labdanum ambery. There is soft woodiness to the scent, that's probably the sandalwood, and some warm cinnamony spiciness Like many amber scents, it becomes powdery-ier as it dries down. Ambery, resinous, sour, warm, softly spicy, mildly incensy, powdery. It reminds me of some of Serge Lutens' ambery releases. Also that resinous sourness is very reminiscent of TT Laudano Nero. I like the scent but it's a bit too sour & too mature/serious for my taste. Masculine, cool weather wear. "Like".
