Peruvian Tobacco

#1780 in. my “Tour de Fragrance” As the 68th ranked producer of the world’s tobacco Peru isn’t top of mind as a tobacco source. Interestingly, the nicotine content of Peruvian tobacco is nine times that of standard tobacco. So if you want to up your chances of death by lung cancer it’s a top choice. As for this scent, it’s more leather and incense than tobacco, and I love it almost as much as I loved their "Eye of Seven Hills". If you’ve tried Byredo “Tobacco Mandarin”, and you should, it’s this with a citrus note, and has two low cost clones out there, French Avenue “Tobacco D’Feu” and Paris Corner “Emir Vibrant Spicy Tobacco” which even copies the Byredo bottle. I’m getting good longevity and projection from this. It’s a love for me, but not a $385 love. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

strong niche opening not for the weak ones then it becomes a very unique tobacco scent with mod performance nothing in my collec can be compare to, is so unique bottle worthy for tobacco lovers or collectors.

I own full bottles of Cuban Tobacco and Jamaican tobacco. Decided to give Peruvian Tobacco a shot and picked up a sample off a decanter. I am... .very very disappointed in this fragrance. I was hoping the whole collection would become part of mine! It sits close to skin and off the first rip, it smelled barnyardy/animalistic which made me sneer. I was not a fan off the bat but let it dry down... luckily that opening only lasted 2 minutes of stink which I am going to assume is the vietnamese oud with incense olibanum mixing. Needless to say.... this is already turning into a nope. Sits very close to skin if not right on skin very rapidly... I am not getting much projection if any. For this price point? Its a hard pass. I am not wowed or find myself wanting to smell this. I want to wear something else. Sorry Alghabra but you really missed with this one.

Meh. Vaguely animalistic. This is muddy and nondescript. Smokey incense? Nothing is really identifiable and if it is it does not standout. I would have to sample it again but the only way I can think to market this is slap a Chanel label on it and call it an Antaeus flanker. Tell them they brought in Francis Kurkdjian. They will make a fortune. This is all very 🤷🏼 to me at best. Fortunately projection is hovering just over a skin scent. Hopefully it has bad longevity so I can put something else on. Wow that was fast. Three hours then poof done. Don’t waste your time or money on this. This is so lackluster and there are so many wonderful options out there that it is time to write this house off completely.

Nothing to see here. Opens with an almost cleaning product on a banana leaf smell. Dry down is better, but this one is the worst of the 3. I love Alghabra overall and own 9 bottles. Cuban tobacco is fantastic. Jamaican tobacco is pretty good. But this one? Swing and a miss. In the words of Meatloaf, “2 out of 3 ain’t bad.” Update 4/26/26: Got a good price on a new bottle so now I have all 3 Alghabra tobacco. Still comes in 3rd, but it’s growing on me.

This is my favorite of the three in the lineup. Where the other two I have smelled before, Peruvian is different in the best niche way. It's oud, but I think it's tbe freshest of the 3. If you don't mind animalistic and want a different take on tobacco out your nose on it
