Aphrodesia

Really gorgeous and unique. This gives me incense without smelling like I just walked out of a new age shop. The amber and vanilla in this meld so well together and I could swear I smell a hint of florals. This is sweet, amber and incense in all the best ways. I wore this to bed by accident hours after application and kept getting whiffs of vanilla incense and wondered what it was then realized it was Aphrodisia! So lovely 🥰

The opening of Aphrodesia is not my favorite. It smells like plastic in a way I’m crazy about. The drydown, however, is spicy vanilla deliciousness! It also lasts a very long time on my skin, especially for an oil. here everything is in perfect balance. It’s also not super sweet, which is refreshing.

To me this smells exactly like an unlit Satya Vanilla incense and it’s soooo good! Warm spicy, nostalgic, and comforting. It blends well with other fragrances and it’s become a staple in my collection.

I didn't get the plastic-y note at the opening that the others did. But, I just took a tiny bit out to sample it on the back of my wrist. The spices in this fragrance keep the sweetness of the scent in check for me. So, I would not say this is cloying. It is only very slightly resinous, to my nose. However, it grounds the fragrance and keeps it from reading like ginger snaps or molasses cookies. The frankincense lends a somewhat ethereal quality to the fragrance. So, it doesn't read as "heavy" despite having so many ingredients that might read otherwise. This is a calming and cuddlesome scent. It's the sort of thing that you would want to wear while sitting in front of a fireplace. I think that this is very well done. It is very similar to other scents such as Come to Me, or As Dark Things Are Meant to be Loved. If you like those, and want to have other similar scents in your collection, this is for you.

Taking a back route to sexy...this is atypical of "aphrodesiac" perfumes that seem stuck on musk and white flowers. Something totally different here. There's a powdery note not listed (unless it's coming from the frankincense) that combines with the bourbon vanilla to remind me of vintage dark red velvet. Also a tinge of sourness. The spices are barely there, and I do get a tiny hint of coconut!

This is really a delicious scent. It matches the name, and is very attractive. But my skin just sucked it up and it had no sillage - I could barely smell it.

Sweet & Smoky Heaven... I really like this one. A smoky and resinous vanilla fragrance which gives a wonderful impression of vanilla scented smoke and incense. It's one I particularly enjoy because vanilla is one of my all time favourite notes. To me this is extremely wearable. Oils have this ability to blend very well with skin. This one proves again that for a cheap price you can buy a quality fragrance. I love these Alkemia oils!

This one smells like cistus labdanum and amber on my skin, but it's the amber I could never wear that for years made me think I hated amber; a slightly unclean body oil amber. This is not what my sister gets (she can wear any amber ever made) but on me, the resinous loveliness is marred by the faint sour scent. Will work great on others.
