Apsara

Given that this had 'ozonic' in the main accords, I was wary of trying this fragrance, but I got it as a sample, and I have to say I really really love it! It's a beautiful purple floral, fresh and lovely, without the shrillness that can sometimes come hand-in-hand with florals. It does have some powder, but just the perfect amount (and i am not a particular fan of powdery scents - they tend to all smell of baby powder to me). Although this is perfectly lovely on its own, I can't wait to layer it with Lilacs Along the Winding Drive in the Spring, to round out some of the wateriness of the lilac scent. A very very successful scent.

Apsara is a very realistic hyacinth and green perfume. It's in the same vein as Jacomo Silences (old version, not Sublime, which I've never smelled), except that Apsara is more modern and pared down. I wore it to an event during the summer about a week after buying it during the July sale. The longevity wasn't great, but it could have been due to the hot weather, or because it hadn't aged much. Late January through April is my "rainy greens and purple flowers" perfume season, so I am certain I'll have Apsara in my top rotations, starting in about a month. Then I should be able to determine if the longevity is better.

Wow - this is my first foray into Alkemia fragrances. Fascinating iteration of hyacinth: the Darjeeling tea note deepens the crisp springtime hyacinth and gives it almost a rich smoked undertone. Very surprising that hyacinth + tea works so well - very creative. This is a great addition to my hyacinth-heavy wardrobe and one I recommend strongly to hyacinth fans.
