Black Magic Woman

A stunning favourite of mine. The list of notes shown here is very disceptive. This is no typical mainstream, sickly sweet confection but a sophisticated, gourmand, not too sweet, expensive Swiss dark chocolate and black cherry devils food cake. I definitely recommend this to gourmand lovers. The longevity is as usual fantastic.

This is a gorgeous gourmand. The scent is so much more rich and dark as others have said before. The dark chocolate cake blended with the blackberry brandy and caramel is heavenly. The plum incense, amber, and black rose complete the scent well. Must try for a gourmand or chocolate fan.

Absolutely devilishly DIVINE!!! Dark, dark, rich liqueur, dark vanilla, definitely Devil's food cake soaked and dripping in something dark and rich and super sweet and gloriously decadent!!! Delicious!!!!! YUM!!

This smells really good! I even got a compliment on it. :) The rose note stands out a lot on me. So far, this has been the longest lasting non-Ultime Alkemia oil that I've tried. It is yummy!

I tend to write off gourmands as a pleasant and temporary experience in my collection. I usually finish 10% and end up gifting them away/never using them, becoming absolutely bored. But man oh man is this one delicious! Bewitching and a tad naughty. A sinful delight that is perfectly sweet. Mouthwatering. The star of this fume is fresh devil's foodcake that is drizzled with blackberry brandy. So realistic! The incense is a little too strong for my tastes for the first 10 minutes, but it settles into a sweet incense that works wonderfully with the amber and roses. A masterful blend.

As others have said the notes here are NOT accurate. This is cake, but dark, fudgey, decadent cake. At first the incense and rose are really heavy and choking on me, but after it dries down a bit it becomes sexy chocolate cake with boozy fruit (plum or blackberry). There is still some incense in the background to make it not overly foody. If you can tough it out through the initial blast of grossness, this is a nice little gourmand.

From the bottle: Chocolate and blackberries. On my skin: Intense chocolate, an almost-alcoholic blast of plum/blackberry that loses the boozy aspect within a minute yet keeps the fruitiness. It quickly developed a nutty scent on me, that reminds me of almonds. The result is an almost almond-butter/jelly scent on me, with a hint of chocolate remaining and joined by a trace of vanilla... not exactly what I expected, but I do like it!

The notes here aren't terribly accurate. This is dark, dark sweet devil's food cake with some caramel and something smokey. A slight cakiness beneath the dark almost boozy notes. It didn't start pleasant on me, almost licorice (which I don't like). But it matures quite quickly into dark chocolate, rum, and fruitiness. Quite pleasant actually.

Devilishly delicious and decadent. Dark chocolate devil's food cake soaked in blackberry brandy. Sinful and luscious. A must-have for any gourmand lover or anyone with a sweet-tooth.

This smells like a liquored cherry cordial to me, very dark and decadent. It is amazing smelling but the incense does come through a little strong. Even still I like this a lot!

This is so good! It goes from a deep cherry chocolate boozy cake with incense to a softer caramel amber scent. The notes here don't seem to accurately portray the scent, but with a few tweaks, it's not too far off. Fragrantica seems to only have a "cupcake" accord to cover all types of cake, and in this cake of Black Magic Woman, the cake is that of devil's food, which is a fudgy thick chocolate cake. That's pretty spot-on to how this smells. I would have guessed it's a black forest cake given I smell cherry, but according to an indie scent catalog online, it's blackberry brandy and black plum incense which could be lending to that boozy fruity aspect. I think chocolate, brandy, plum, and blackberry added to the notes list would represent this scent more accurately :). "Dark" caramel, "dark" amber, and "black" rose petals are the descriptors used for the notes in the original description, which totally matches the feel and name of this scent. Great for layering, and I find Alkemia oils, along with most oils, tend to bloom a bit more in the heat. This makes a great cooler weather scent though given its rich notes, and the fact that being bundled up during the cold generates a bit of heat. Not incredibly long-lasting (on my skin, at least), but the bottle of oil is small enough to carry along. :) I brought mine to the beach once and there's sand in the grooves of the cap, so there's a nice crunchy sound any time I open or close it, but it's sort of nostalgic, and also reminds me that this smells great as a beachy scent despite that seeming maybe a bit off putting. This combined with a sunscreen smell, warmed skin, and saltwater is a delight and just a different experience than using it on a snowy walk bundled up with it radiating off your scarf while sipping on a hot cocoa. That's what I love about scent!

The notes listed here make this look a like a sweet, sugary fluffy white cupcake. This one is a sweet gooey oozy blend. What starts off as a cakey gourmand , quickly turns around into a boozy thick brandy with a sweet caramel note. The plum incense is very apparent about 2 hours in. This is a soft skin scent, but dark and dreamy so a definite "date night" juice.

Oh my goodness. Decadent cherry chocolate fudge cake with hints of blueberry(?) syrup, smokiness, and ambery. As others have said, the first few seconds of application smell very strong, like a cherry essential oil, but it fades into something beautifully dark but edible.
