Burning Roses

This has a very strong Nag Champa note with an underlying rose one. The incense is much stronger than the rose one. Personally, I love this and I am not a hippie; just someone who loves incense in fragrance. If this sounds like you, you will love it! If not, order a sample and give it a go.

I can definitely smell the hot hair note, but it doesn't detract from the lovely rose. As someone on a perpetual quest for dark roses, this gets the thumbs up from me.

I'll spare the details but I think this is subconsciously my bf's favorite fragrance on me....!

I build bought this to recreate the olfactory experience of burning rose incense. It's a very true to life Nag Champa and that's it unfortunately. I can't find the rose in this for the life of me, its straight up labdanum and incense scent. Great projection and silage. Fantastic value through etsy and the samples with purchase are much appreciated. I will wear this on summer nights when I want a free spirited hippy incense aura. I used some to make scented candles as well. Not a total waste but not exactly what I was hoping for.

Mostly incense, with a touch of very pleasant rose. One of my students caught a whiff and said that I smelled "like the inside of the Earthbound store". I enjoyed my dabber sample while it lasted, and if I weren't actively trying to downsize dramatically, I might even consider a full bottle. As it is though, there are other incense and other rose scents from Alkemia that I prefer, so no full bottle in the near future (never say never, though).

It smells like the description when in the bottle, but on me, it smells like candy. Maybe it's a body chemistry thing. Like, but wouldn't repurchase. It smells great in the bottle, though: like a weird boutique.

An apparent attempt to get away from sweet gooey rose scents, but one which misses in a big way. UncIear on concept too; I can't imagine roses actually burning, although I have seen burnt rose bushes right after a huge firestorm. And it wasn't pleasant either; depressing doesn't begin to cover it, although the fire missed the house behind the roses it leveled all the other houses on the hillside. Burning Roses doesn't really smell like smoke either or burned residue, which is fine by me, but then why call it Burning Roses? This scent is more muddy roses. Nothing attractive or rosy about that name. It's not really an incense scent either; if incense is in it, I can't imagine what kind they used. Hippies didn't use this kind of incense, so we can't blame them (us). Alkemia has better rose scents; their Forest Rose is fabulous.

This one is not for me. A whole lotta incense and a tiny bit of rose. True to its name, but not what I was hoping for.

Out of my 6 samples, this was my 2nd favorite (Blackberry Noir - 1st fave). Its basically rose, a bit green, and nag champa incense. Very beautiful and exotic. Not your basic rose. Rose, with a dark mysterious vibe. Sillage and longevity is very good.

Lovely Maroc rose with a hot hair note that detracts, but fades off enough to leave that lovely rose Maroc. No ash or burning (other than that hair-overheated-by-hairdryer note), just a nice incense rose. Very pretty as it dries down.

headshop incense at the beginning, settles more into a sweet rose with the incense just giving depth, straight forward, nice - definitely smells like a headshop though. I do get a little powder in the drydown .

Curiosity and compliments in response to this oil. My friend felt this was definitely nag champa - I'm just happy to have found such a subtle and intriguing rose.
