Caffaeum

This is by far my favourite from my recent order from Alkemia. It is a rich coffee which playfully explores other notes but quickly retreats. This is rich and divine without any tooth ache inducing sugar or sweetners. I find myself putting it on before my first cup of coffee of the day and I swear it makes it that much more enjoyable!

Thick, syrupy dark roasted coffee, maybe a caramel/toffee something-sweet on the side. I love this one especially because I'm a barista and it complements the environment I work in. I wish it lasted longer but I believe it's just how my skin reacts to most Alkemia perfumes. I'll probably buy a larger bottle soon and just bathe in it.

it smells like you've entered a fancy coffeshop. it's a cup of rich and complex coffee, not one with tons of milk and sugar. the amber adds a slight sweetness, but the bitter coffee is still there.

It starts a candy, a coffee-flavoured candy. It smells like Kopiko or Werther's - if you don't have a sweet tooth, this might be sickeningly sweet at the start. But give it a few minutes, and it dries down to make space for the coffee to come through, though still quite sweet. It's not a lactonic/creamy/mellow sweet either, it's a bright candy sweetness. Seriously, if you don't like smelling of candy for a few minutes or want just a black coffee, this isn't for you. But if you love coffee-flavoured candies and having that sweetness linger as a coffee-scent brews and comes up on the dry down, then this would be perfect for you. After 12 hours, I can still smell it from a distance - a nice warm scent, less sugary and more creamy.

This is a sweet coffee with some spices mixed in. I like my coffee black and strong, coming in the forefront like a morning punch to the face. This is more along the lines of coffee candy. It is certainly unisex -- as all fragrances are -- but I think it's much sweeter than I was led to believe from the reviews. I dislike just about any sweetness in a perfume, unless I'm specifically in the mood for it, so I won't be reaching for this very often. It isn't bad tho. I think Alkemia and I just don't mix too well. This is not a coconut milk mocha (Haus of Gloi's Espresso Bean), not lemony (Akro's Awake), not incensed (DSH Adrenaline and Scorched Earth).

I'm a coffee fanatic and wanted to like this one- from the notes I was expecting coffee beans + incense. In the bottle and on immediate application, it smells like a vanilla latte. Soon, you get an almost ginger-bready note. 20 minutes in as it dries down, It smelled like having lattes and toffee cookies at the local hippie coffee joint. Vanilla-toffee gourmand with a bit of coffee and patchouli incense in the background. I found it too gourmand, but if that's your thing, you'll love it. It reminds me a lot of Christmas for some reason.

Opens with dirt and cherry to my nose, then presumably roasted coffee comes out with a deep darkness and slightly bitter tinge. It is a mature sweet, but there’s something underneath reminding me of both burnt sugar and burnt earth.
