Caveau des Innocents

This little fragrant gem is amazing! It has cannibals as a note, which was the reason why I purchased it. It's smoky, sweet, spicy, resinous, woody, and boozy (Wow!). Such a cornucopia of notes that harmonizes well together. It also can be worn both day and night, not to mention that it's multi-seasonal, but it's best worn during the autumn months. Definitely one of my new favorites! But don't take my word for it. Check it out for yourself!

Love this perfumer and many of her perfumes. This particular scent starts out coffee, rum and anise on me....even hubby called those out :) The caramel and vanilla quickly head in a chocolate direction and then it's just an altogether yummy melange of smells. Fantastic! I only wish it stayed powerful for longer.

This smells EXACTLY like bsissa. If you've never been to north africa you won't know what this is. Bsisa is a typical Egyptian food, based on flour of roasted barley, which dates back to Pharos times. Usually you hydrate the barley powder with water, and this perfume smells exactly like that. It was so weird when I first opened up the bottle cus it smelled so distinctly like something I'd smelled before. I haven't smelled Bsissa in over 10 years, so I completely forgot about it, but once I remembered I got 100% sure that this was it.

You truly have to let this one sit for a WHILE before you apply it. But, I thought it was worth the wait. I expected to smell more caramel, coffee, and pear, but I was let down. With my skin chemistry, Caveau des Innocents smelled more like maple syrup, redwood, and rum, which wasn't bad. Like stated, I was definitely fooled by the notes on the website not aligning with with what I smelled, but it wasn't a bad experience. (PS. this is VERY strong.)

I have fallen in love with this perfume oil designer. She's brilliant! Caveau des Innocents is a luscious hit dominated by coffee, incense and pipe tobacco. It made me swoon with just one small application. Rich and velvety, long-lasting, best for fall, unisex, but maybe more feminine than masculine. Only one problems: it doesn't last long on me, two hours, or so, no matter how much I apply.

At first I was sure there was no way I'd be wearing this out, it was weird and thick and old. However after an hour or so it bloomed beautifully. There's always something new opening up. I described it to my wife as "drank, ****d, smoked". It smells like an expensive brothel from a fantasy book. Alkemia perfumes are only expensive if you buy overseas, otherwise they're great value.

This is beautiful. It has all the notes I love wrapped up in one lovely little experience. It's entirely 'wearable', not overwhelming or bitter or sharp in anyway. All the notes are quite harmonious and apart from the boozy caramel and tobacco, I'd say most things are hard to differentiate and pull apart in this fragrance. Really safe, warm, unisex, comforting perfume oil. 7.5/10

This is rich, sweet and earthy. It's mainly coffee, tobacco, rum and incense with caramel and vanilla balancing it out. It's definitely got a pub smell to it. I like it, but it's more of a masculine scent, actually reminds me of my boyfriend. I wouldn't dare wear this in public

Starts off smelling just like molasses. Throughout the day it keeps that sappy quality but steps into the background. On my skin, the cloves and caramel begin to become more prominent. Masculine but sweet?

This smells like dark wood by a fireplaces. It reminds me of old country pubs with the smell of whiskey and old pipe tobacco soaked into the wood.

I wanted to like this one but my skin chemistry seems to bring out all the worst qualities of the notes. I end up getting more of a stank and musty odorof the cannabis along with stale coffee and some tobacco. Its just not for me. Silage wise its an arms length, and very long lasting. Put it on 8 hours ago and its still going strong albeit more of a skin scent now.

I let this settle for a couple of weeks because it smelled like celery when it arrived and I first sniffed it. When I finally was brave enough to try it, it still smelled like ultra-condensed celery and cloying caramel. Those are all you can smell during the first hour or so. Eventually, it mellows down with some hints of coffee, tobacco, and cloves to go along with the caramel overtone. I don't know what it is about this scent, but if I smelled it on someone else, I don't think I would trust them. It smells smarmy. I think it could go unisex, but it seems more of a male scent to me.

This smells so decadent, like masculine candy. It actually reminds me of coffee and rum flavored truffles deluged with thick, dark caramel syrup. I'm wearing it right now, and it does make the heart beat just a little faster as it conjures images of warm tanned bodies, dripping honey, eager tongues. Maybe I have an active imagination. Don't worry if you first smell it and it's just leather and licorice. That will go away in a couple of days.

This starts quite masculine, reminding me slightly of New Haarlem by Bond no 9 with the prominent coffe bean note. It's a cold scent, like smelling right out of a jar of beans. It also has a green, inky, dark feel to it as well, which I attribute to the cannabis and tobacco. In the background I can sense the same sweet honey caramel from Miel de Sauvage et Tabac, also by Alkemia. Recommended if you like masculine leaning gourmands.
