Hex

I'm clearly a bit of a hippy cos I love Hex. Actually this is a scent made for Goths. I definitely have a bit of Goth in me. I just need a few tattoos 🤣 I suspect Hex is no longer made. It is fair to say that its not for everyone. The first impression is of incense but then gradually the spice and frangipane surface. It's the scent of a confident and spiritual woman. Some sweetness starts to come through but it doesn't evolve much which I'm happy with. Morticia Adams would probably like this. ALKEMIA oils are always good. It just depends on your taste. This fragrance oil is rich and luscious. Fragrance oils might not have a big sillage but goodness the scent hangs around for ages. Personally I wear scent for my own pleasure so that suits me fine.

This smells like a nicer, somewhat softer and more expensive version of Tabu by Dana. This is how I imagine Tabu smelled before the cheap reformulation. And with some vanilla. Really lovely if you like scents on the dark and spicy side. *UPDATE* This has really become a favorite of mine. A beautiful witchy fragrance that has a good amount of incense, patchouli, and resins, but is balanced out by the florals and hint of vanilla. I would say like a cross between YSL Opium and Chanel No.5! Gorgeous.

I smell like a sexy witch. That is, verbatim, how someone described me, one night while wearing this spiced brew, as I beckoned him to lean in close, smell my neck, and inhale me. Was I trying to put a spell on him? Nah. But wearing this, I probably could have. So, judging from his description, this juice is aptly named. This scent does not waft; it sits close to my skin, lasting about 4 hours. It’s a rich, deep amber scent with a grounding vanilla softness; potent but also smooth, and, to me, completely unisex. When I wear it, I feel as though I’ve been soaking in a bubble bath of herbs, and then applied a vanilla lotion. Or, like I’ve washed myself with a bar of expensive hotel soap and then applied vanilla lotion. It also reminds me of a cologne, or aftershave—it eludes me. There is a certain sweetness, but nothing akin to syrup, or candied apples or bonbons. I like this scent. But I like the reaction it provoked better. Sexy witch? Sure thing, babe. But it’s a mood, and a very specific one, I have to be in to wear this fragrance, and I don’t reach for it often. Which, in a way makes sense, since casting spells on people isn’t an everyday pastime to begin with.

Sample test, which has rested 3 weeks from its most recent flight. It's a lovely pleasant, spicy, musky(?) scent. But unfortunately, less unique than I had hoped. I will continue to test it and update as needed. UPDATE: Definitely smells like an incense shop. It's hard to separate the various notes, which is, I think, my problem with it. I feel there should be a smoke note, but that is probably just my association. But certainly it should list an incense note. Not unpleasant, but not as good as so many of Sharra's scents. Some love it. I'm not that person.

Hex sure put a spell on me. I'm loving it! It's sweet, spicy, floral, and balsamic. The combination of allspice, plumeria, incense, and patchouli is gorgeous. This will be my first full bottle purchase from Alkemia. Great stuff!
