Industrial Sabotage

I have to describe this scent in two ways: how the actual components of the scent smell, and the impression that it gives. It smells like eucalyptus and mint, with something metallic or chemical just under the surface. It's a little hard to describe, but it's a herbal mix of the organic and the non-organic. The impression that it gives is that water is pooling on the floor of an abandoned factory, and that out of the former brownfield land, a beautiful garden is springing to life. (One more thing; I know what gunpowder smells like and it lacks the pungent kick of said gunpowder. It is, however, a nice, cool scent, tending towards masculine but relatively unisex.)

I bought the Curious Oddities pack and got this as a sample. Maybe I’m just unaccustomed to smelling perfumes minutely, but on me it smells like sugary, bitter almonds from afar. Right up close, though, I get the burnt plasticky smell. Fascinating! I like the notes I get. Reminds me of robots passing off as human, but that could be the nightmare I had the night before trying this. Fun to compare to Center of the Universe. Update: wore it to work and someone told me I smelled like a new doll.

I'm not sure about the gunpowder, but it does have a slight natural undertone i can't really place since the metallic notes cover it a lot. It's a little like patchouli with a tiny hint of menthol for the cold effect. It's like coming into a workshop that hasn't been used recently, chilly, and you catch a whiff of iron from the instruments. Got it as a blind buy, and i can't be happier with the result.

I’m not sure what I’m missing here. I really wanted to to like this one. But on me it smells like cabbage patch kids. And I don’t like kids or dolls. But if you’re down for some early 80s nostalgia, try it. It’s not bad just not for me and I don’t see how it’s listed as a male scent.

there’s something burnt and mineral. Wouldn’t be wrong to aim at something cool or herbal like fennel or licorice. not really getting gunpowder, more like just powder. On skin it’s sweet burning rubber.
