Irrésistible

I’m on my second bottle of Irresistible. It has a lovely caramel/macaron accord that, even though I do not usually care for caramel, is not overly sweet. I definitely get the underlying nutmeg but my skin seems to amplify spices and more savory notes. It lasts a good six hour on me. It is one of the quieter Alkemia scents but that just makes it more cozy. I enjoy it for those days when I want a gourmand but I don’t want straight sweetness.

This smells exactly like marzipan when you first put it on and has quite a pronounced smell. It lasted on me for some hours and dried down to be quite powdery sweet.

I have tried several of these & I think Im done as they just dont work out for me. This smells nice. Its a cozy smell(related to Private Show) but it fades quickly & has no sillage. Other oils I use, Solstice Scents & others off Etsy, have Monster like sillage & last all day. I hate to leave a bad review as everything always comes nicely packaged but Ive had all of these under perform on me & some that just smell like cleaning fluid. Maybe they work well on others but they are not for me.

I agree with the previous reviewer about this coming off as oddly dry and not very gourmand at all. I found it only vaguely sweet and frankly stale smelling. Maybe like a macaron that fell down below the seat of your car. Sticks around a while anyway.

Sickening. One of the few fragrances that I physically had to scrub off of my skin because it was making me so nauseous. This is papery, dry, dirty, and earthy. I'm stunned over the notes in this, based on these notes I thought for sure that I was going to love this. When you smell it through the bottle, you do get a synthetic almond oil/macaron note but when it's applied to your skin, that instantly goes away and it's so "dry" smelling that it almost makes me feel dehydrated. Seriously though, I don't know if it's my body chemistry but I've never been this shocked by a fragrance before on how much I've disliked it. I'm admittedly a little hard to please, but there have been 3 maybe 4 fragrances my entire life that I've had to scrub off of my skin. I could not take another second of it on me. I gave it a week to develop in the bottle, and tried again with the same exact nauseating scent. There is no sweetness here, nothing dessert, edible or gourmand about it. If someone put this in front of my nose without telling me the notes, after I stopped choking I would guess a patchouli-based men's cologne. I know this is unisex, but there is nothing feminine about this. It's entirely masculine, strongly dry and masculine. I don't know how that happens with the notes that are in here but they clash... and hard. It would have to be the nutmeg maybe? I can't think of any other note in here that would behave this way. Please sample this before you buy a bottle of it, this is in my top 5 worst scents that I have ever experienced. I can't speak much for longevity or silage due to the fact that I had to scrub it off, but I will say that after washing my wrist twice with hot soap and water, I could unfortunately still smell it.

I post this with the caveat that Alkemia’s base does not jive with my skin. I’ve tried at least 10 fragrances and all of them have smelled quite terrible on me. If their base works for you then by all means, give this a try. On me this is a muddy potpourri bomb. Herbal and flowery with no direction whatsoever. I just retested a sample that I let rest for a year, hoping the almond macaron scent would develop. It’s just not happening for me. I recommend their samples. Shipped fast and were packaged nicely. Just please sample first before full sizing.

To me, this smelled exactly as described: like macarons. Pleasant enough but longevity was terrible on me, the worst of the samples I’ve tried so far from Alkemia. I’ll enjoy the sample but will not get a FB. Edit: After wearing the sample a few more times, it started smelling really artificial. Not a fan.

this smells like a powdery almond on me. pretty weak in terms of both sillage and longevity on me, which is alright, because I don't enjoy it. might be better on someone else, but my body chemistry turned it into the scent of a granny who's been making marzipan sweets all day...
