Luminae

This is one of those fragrances that I would feel comfortable gifting to just about anyone, and it's definitely a safe blind buy if you like amber. On my wrist, it lasts a very, very long time, but it dissipates in about 10 hours on my neck and chest. Still a very long lasting scent, and it layers beautifully to deepen other fragrances. I can even layer something more floral or fruity with this and it adds a warmth and sensuality that is difficult to put your finger on, but oh so alluring. The name of this fragrance is perfect, because it really does feel like a soft glow from within. If you have another fragrance that doesn't last very long, and you want a safe layering option that sticks around, I highly recommend this. I think the people who claim it doesn't last more than 6 hours are going anosmic to it. I showered and I can still smell it faintly on my wrist, I would consider Luminae to be eternal.

This is a scent that truly smells different on everyone, and on me, it pulls a beautiful, sweet buttery note. It gives off an almost edible quality that feels incredibly cozy and intimate. It’s the perfect 'my skin but better' perfume; it never feels like I’m wearing a heavy fragrance, just a more delicious, golden version of myself. Because of that creamy, buttery base, it’s also incredible for layering to add warmth or personal edge to other perfumes

This is one of those “your skin but better” type of fragrances and I find it absolutely addicting! I often pull this one when I don’t know what mood I’m in and just want something pretty yet not fussy. On me this takes on a buttery creamy note then morphs throughout the day from this to slightly vanillic and then smoky musky and back again. If you like vanilla shakes and don’t mind smelling like one I highly recommend it. :)

Very creamy and buttery on my skin. The first few moments, it can smell a bit off, but that quickly fades. It is not reminiscent of skin on me but it is still delightful. It is not a strong scent but it does project well the first hour or so, giving the wearer a wonderfully delicious aura. It lasts around five or six hours on me. I do not think I would wear this in the heat.

Creamy and warm and even a little buttery. It blends with your skin chemistry so it will smell different on everyone, but to me, this is the essence of comfort in a bottle. Perfect for putting on before bed or anytime you want a light skin scent.

I love this, but it’s hard to put into words what it actually smells like. It’s very warm, almost sweet and skin-like, with a hint of something that verges on being buttery. I don’t think I’ll ever not have this in my collection.

This is a very beautiful, soft and romantic skin scent. If I liked skin scents, I would buy a gallon of it and use it to bathe in. Very creamy, wonderfully composed. 8/10

This smells like creamy clean skin. It’s not really lactonic, but it is definitely creamy. It’s a warm hug on a cold day. There is a light amber base and a fresh from the shower skin accord. This is beautiful for anyone on a day when you aren’t sure which fragrance to wear. I also could see this as great for layering as a warm base scent. This would be amazing worn when you plan on cuddling close to someone. It is a your skin, but better scent that has a slight sweetness that will encourage people to want to get even closer to you.

To me this is a more tolerable Au Lait except this one doesn't smell like popcorn on me. A little sister if you will. The butter and cream smell warm and inviting. A soft cashmere glow. A warm orange color comes to mind when wearing this. Alas this is not my cup of tea! Although nice, I think my chemistry doesn't play well with oils that have milk accords.

Smells exactly like a coconut candle from the bottle. After drying on skin it still has that creamy coconut quality. I was surely surprised to see no coconut in the notes. It definitely gives off "effortlessly beautiful this is just how my skin smells" energy but more whimsical and creamy than other 'your skin but better' scents I've tried.

I got this fragrance as a free sample. Really beautiful in the bottle and upon application. Smells like creamy gourmand clouds. However, by the drydown it becomes extremely subtle. Definitely your skin but better, as the website describes. I'm sure that this is also fantastic for layering.

a sweet, warm, comforting scent. like a mug of hot milk before bed. definitely lactonic. I got a sample of this in a bundle and though it's not my usual taste, i have an unscented moisturiser i drop some of this into and sometimes apply before bed. it has really cosy, lovely associations.

Pretty but definitely a cheap caramel coffee scented candle. Waxy, powdery, syrupy-dry, linear, cloying

Like a faint wisp of smoke. A hint of incense, a snuffed unscented candle. There's a sort of warm, waxy cleanliness to this proclaimed skin scent and a fruitiness as it dries down that kinda smells like canned peaches. Minimal projection from the start, longevity 5-6hr before I literally have to stick my nose on it. Advertised as a "your skin but better" scent. Not my thing, frankly I feel like it's more of a placebo confidence booster than an actual fragrance, but it's definitely inoffensive.

smells just like alkemia’s other perfume “paradise” to me! has that same sort of creamy, warm vanilla and amber base to it. there’s not a lot of depth to it but that’s ok, good things dont need to be complex to be good. it also smells a little bit like candle wax i suppose, if i focus on it hard enough. could be nice to layer with something else! edit: the "your skin but better" scent i prefer is alkemia's aurora, it's more complex than luminae.

This smells like almond and butter cake, with a little powder. However, the quality of it reminds me of a fragranced candle, a bit waxy and synthetic.

Smells like powdery orange blossom and pleasant lemon. Nothing special but not offensive either.

Smells like a Christmas candle from Bath and Body works. Nice, if a little bit too sweet.

Unfortunately, on my skin, there is nothing creamy about this scent. For context, fragrances tend to go powdery on me in the first place. This smells really nice from the bottle, but the minute it hits my skin, it turns into a very loud, strong, dusty slightly chemical scent. At first, the top note on me was baby powder and then, as it settled, it smelled like an unscented dollar store candle, dust and a slightly bitter chemical scent with powder in the background. It's also very strong on me. My husband smelled it and told me I "smelled like an old lady". If your skin tends to amp powder notes, you will want to sample this first. Ghostfire might be better a better choice in this case as it gives me that ethereal glowing kind of effect without powder.

I suspect this one is very dependent on your personal chemistry. It doesn’t pull any amber and only the faintest wisp of creaminess on me. Wouldn’t label it gourmand. Maybe tea? But it isn’t a subtle fragrance either. It’s harsh and reminiscent of white musk in a way I don’t like at all. But none of the “your skin but better” frags actually smell “better” on me.
