Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure

I can't stop applying this perfume to my hands, wrists, shoulders, breasts, neck, and earlobes. My favorite place to spread it is the warm hollow between my clavicle and my shoulder, so I can just turn my head and get a heady whiff of it rising from my skin. Thank heavens it lasts a full twelve hours and more, or my skin would be drenched with the oil! The scent is linear, with sillage of three or four feet but not room-filling. That's fine with me, because it means I can enjoy it all the time, everywhere, even buildings where perfume is normally banned. It's very difficult to identify the individual notes in this fragrance. The delicate floral sweetness must be vanilla orchid -- not sweet gourmand vanilla, but the delicate, almost powdery floral scent that hints of the full-flavored vanilla bean it will birth. The orris root is that almost-iris note on which the orchid scent rests. I think I smell honeysuckle, or the elusive scent of heliotrope. Mmmmm... maybe primrose? Yes, that's it, primroses! (Which I never see listed as a perfume note, but the scent of the wild yellow primroses is one of the loveliest. Sometimes an over-bred supermarket primrose will have a faint vestige of that scent... I always buy those ones.) There's honey in here, too; or perhaps I should say, nectar, because honey is heavy and cloying, while this is the lightest and airiest sweetness imaginable. Thank you, Sharra Lamoureaux! This scent is a masterpiece!

I really, really like this one. It is rich and sweet but not too sweet. To be honest, no one note stands out to me, except maybe the incense, but it isn’t smoky, here it smells more like incense being gently warmed, not burned. I can barely make out the vanilla and the praline. It all just comes together to make this wonderful, slightly dusty (orris root?) scent. *This does NOT smell like Silken Tent in any way, yet they remind me of each other. If you like ST,, definitely try this one.

There's a warm freshness to this fragrance. It's sweet and incense-y, but the citrus in here lifts to make it appropriate for any occasion. I'm not a fan of overly gourmand scents but the caramel and praline are so nicely balanced that it comes across as warm and cozy rather than syrupy. This lasted surprisingly long on me, and I could still smell whiffs of it after 12 hours.

This is one of the few citrus scents I love. It's juicy and sweet, but the incense keeps things interesting. I think this perfume really shines during autumn and winter. It's good for casual wear, but it's also classy and luxurious - I can imagine a high class courtesan wearing this. Lasts all day, certainly noticeable but not overpowering.

a bag of pixie stix meet some incense sticks and both start fornicating on sheets that haven’t been washed in a minute. this is sexy, like, really sexy, i could wear this whenever honestly.

In summer it is a sweet gourmand, quite similar to Pink Sugar, but much more subtle and elegant. Think "Pink Sugar" masterfully done by some niche/deluxe brand, like Tom Ford at its best, that's what I'm talking about. I don't get any champagne, it's just sugar-caramel-vanilla. It's a great gourmand, but I don't get any seductive vibes, it's just that 'sweet cotton candy girl' kind of sweetness. Come fall, with 65F and under indoors (and let me not speak about outdoors), and this perfume offers some real wonders. Now there's much less sweetness and nothing food-grade about it. It is all about incense and boudoir powder with a touch of suede. Finally, the perfume oil is true to its name, sensuous as hell (and closer to Madam X, my Alkemia favorite).

I would have expected a scent named after the first English pornographic novel to smell more skanky. Or rather, skanky at all. But I could easily imagine this selling alongside those Victoria’s Secret body mists. It smells really good! The subtle incense and powdery orris calm down the other sweet and floral notes. I didn't fall madly in love with this one like I have certain other Alkemia scents, but I will keep on using my sample... time will tell if an addiction develops.

Lots of contrasting but well blended notes here, and seems to alternate between powder, caramel, and citrus. It is soft/sweet/sour, like a lemon tart with caramel and a bit of powdered sugar. I can catch a hint of cocoa too. The dry down is really good once the sweetness fades, it becomes a lovely powder. The champagne is barely noticable on me unfortunately since I love this note. Interesting blend, not my favorite, but gourmand lovers might like this.

I like incense as a note theoretically, but usually that's ALL I can smell if it's included in a scent, which I just don't like. With this one, it's definitely incense-dominant on me but for once I can smell other notes (specifically lemon and caramel in this case) and it's much more balanced and soft.

I get incense bubblegum mainly bubblegum. Its really comforting and sweet I like it

The more I wear this, the more iffy I get on it!! It's not *bad*. But the caramel is very rich and the iris is very powdery - these two strong clashing notes are muddied even more with the citrus and smoke, and the result is just. Strange. The longer I wear it, the weirder it gets - even my first time around, when I had a much more positive impression, I was finding it funky after an hour. Each note is individually well-formulated (as you'd expect from Alkemia), but they don't quite form a cohesive whole.

Classy and alluring. Very incense-y, with a bit of iris and lemon; smells a little smoky-woody-sweet? It's not very deep and sensual, but it's not light and airy either-- it's like the drydown of a stronger perfume. I mean that in a good way.

The caramel and sweeter notes paired with the champagne makes for such a sassy sexy smell. Really it dose smell like a fantasy you have that you keep to yourself. To scared to tell, but you like it to much to just let go of it.

ive had this perfume for only 2 days so far so imma def let it sit ! but first impression to me , this smells exactly like one of those cuticle oils w the flowers inside of them . a tad fruiter n headier . i rlly fw this !!!
