Mesnee d'Hellequin

This is so lovely. Green and woody and deep. There’s also a touch of a floral sweetness that came out on me. I feel like it reads as very unisex - I wouldn’t say it’s overly masculine, personally, but it might seem more that way to some people. I’ve tried a bunch of foresty fragrances lately and this is maybe my favourite.

It is a bit candle-ish, and sweeter than most conifer scents I've tried. I think that's the galbanum. It projects pretty well, especially for an oil. Longevity's not bad either! It becomes less candle-like as it settles onto my skin. This is a fresh scent, and while it does call the winter season to mind occasionally, it's not a strong or exclusive association. The galbanum offsets the winteriness of the conifer to an increasing degree as time goes on, making me place this one more as a spring fragrance - though again, it would work in any season. It's quite linear. I think it smooths out and blends as time goes on - not that it was harsh to begin with - but otherwise it remains mostly the same. It's a nice fragrance, but there others in this genre I like better on me. It would be a great choice for someone looking for a coniferous forest type scent that isn't typically masculine; I'd call it very unisex. It's neither sweet nor harsh, and would be appropriate for any setting.

pretty good descriptin on a dark forest kind of scent. Absolutly back to nature here . Wet Moss ,lichen . cypress and slight bit of fir and wet soil is what i detect in this on, pretty masculin on my skin . This has a raw edge to it . A freshness that still lingers from being outside in nature , but also a slight touch of body heating up . Not bad at all , It just gives you a more natural feal realy . (I did like the Moss Maiden better for the Moss earthy feal )

This is a masculine scent but i feel that women could also wear it if they like very woody scents. For me pine is most prominent. It is very strong so one drop goes a long way. It is fantastic when paired with Miel de Sauvage et Tabac.

This is a very deep woody frag, smells like a wet forest. It's a bit too sharp and green for my own tastes, but I recognize how well blended it is. 5.5/10

Reminds me of a pine bath-oil we had at home when I was a child. I loved that one. There is also a fresh, almost minty coolness here. It ́s not like walking in a Swedish coniferous forest in the summer though, and that was what I was searching for when sampling this.
