Midnight Garden

Everything you read here is true; the silky, white petals are creamy and rich, there's a soft breeze blowing through the orchard, and the flowers grow in peaceful harmony. Lily, gardenia, and honeysuckle are three of my favorite white florals, and in this perfume they really shine. All their best qualities are there in their typical stunning intensity, the waxiness of the lily, the sweeping gardenia petals, the warm white honeysuckle - and all without overwhelming. I recognize tuberose, a welcome friend, and though I haven't smelled datura before, Alkemia is typically very true to life so I trust it's well represented as well. Honestly it's impressive how well balanced this scent is. This could so easily be a sticky, hot, suffocating mess, but it's not! It's Midnight Garden, thank god. As others have pointed out, this perfume is neither sugary or overly green, but simply white. Because of that, it feels unbound by the seasons. I could see it in the winter as a joyful reminder of eternal spring, a wistful autumn wear, a seductive date night scent (maybe with a layer of something spicy underneath?), or a daytime pick-me-up. It has excellent performance, so no need to worry about fixatives or reapplications. Overall I find it wonderful, and it was the crown jewel of my sample set.

The person a few comments below (adrimira98) who mentioned this being reminiscent of a Victorian garden on a humid night is absolutely right. That’s exactly what I’m getting from this too. Romantic and gothic. The longevity is amazing; I can smell a whisper of it on my arm after 8 hours of wear. The comments I’ve gotten are positive, and that it has a sunscreen or powdery feel after it dries down. The description of the scent’s qualities from the Alkemia website: “A lunar intoxication of night-flowering white flowers – tuberose (flower of dangerous pleasures), lily (flower of majestic beauty), honeysuckle (flower of binding love), gardenia (flower of secret passions) and moonflower (flower that inspires dreams of love). Hauntingly beautiful.”

Honestly, to me, this smells like sex in a garden. Beautiful, lush, night-blooming white flowers and a musky, animalic note in the base that smells so elegant, refined, and a little naughty. This was sent to me in the curated sample set I requested and my description was along the lines of: An elegant princess who spends her days attending to her duties and her nights hidden away with her secret lover in the palace garden. (I sent them a request based on one of my characters) AND LET ME TELL YOU Alkemia delivered. This one and Kashish really blew me away. Tuberose is hard to get right and neither of these had that overly sweet bubblegummy scent. It actually added a certain creamy lusciousness that made it come across as super sexy.

I thought Alkemia had made a mistake when they sent me this sample based on my other purchases. After all, I don't really like floral perfumes most of the time. But they were right. I'm in love with this scent. It starts out with roses faintly and honeysuckles largely. It's like walking through the forest and encountering that luscious-smelling honeysuckle bush that has attracted so many busy honey bees. I keep wanting to smell my wrist when I'm wearing this perfume. Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long. But, fortunately, the lovely honeysuckle scent stays most of the time, winding down somewhat soapy and powdery.

If you love white flowers, you WILL love this perfume. I can't compare it to Fracas, as I don't have that one (yet). But, I do find this to be a gorgeous fragrance that floral lovers will adore. And, it is a great value for the price. It is a soft floral that is very versatile, in my opinion. Yes, as previous posters have mentioned, this could be a white tee and jeans fragrance. But, it could also be a fragrance that you wear to a nice dinner. It is a great, wearable fragrance.

this is the white floral of All Time. everyone is correct, this is creamy and balanced and so beautiful. it is elegantly floral, not overwhelming or cleaner-like at all. the musk adds this beautiful body to it. the honeysuckle is the star of the show for me, it is SO summery and evocative. it smells exactly like being kissed in a garden at night without being suffocating or overtly animalistic. i cannot rave about this more. i have never full-sized a sample so fast in my life.

This is gorgeous. It’s smooth, rich, and even a bit creamy. I wasn’t too impressed when I first smelled on a test strip, but when I wore it on my skin, it melted into the most beautiful, elegant, lingering aura. “Midnight garden” is a perfect name for it - it has the perfect blend of several white florals, but also a mysterious and seductive quality to it. It’s soft yet intoxicating, and I agree with the review below saying it feels slightly vintage.

One trace of this and I am transported to Savannah, living in pegnoirs among Spanish moss, excusing myself from company claiming the rights of vague ailments only to conspire with the help to meet my many lovers. This fulfills the promise hinted at by other white florals and gives you the option of going way over the top while remaining natural and pristine.

Finally a perfume with all of my favorite white florals together!! It's like a long lost family reunion :D This is not a creamy style white floral. There is no grape, bubble-gum, milk, or coconut blowback from the tuberose. This is clean and crisp. Lovely for spring and summer. Never discontinue it!!!

I think Unearthly Apothacary has it right. This is a gorgeous, dripping, white floral. Midnight Garden can give any white floral you have a run for its money: As always, scent is subjective, so test first.

As somebody who is VERY particular about white florals, I was so happy with this. Sweet and flirty yet still grown-up. This is for spending a summer/spring afternoon in a navy sundress.

I chose ‘Midnight Garden’ as I’m a sucker for a good white floral. This has everything I could ever desire; jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, lily, honeysuckle and angels trumpet. It’s an intoxicating mix of every sexy floral that comes to life in the heat of a summer garden. It encapsulates the essence of these pollinated flowers. On my wrist, I smell their floral nectar after the scorching sun has kissed them to full arousal during the day, but has left them throbbing in the heat of the night. Blended to perfection. A very romantic, feminine, and non dated white floral. I do not think this smells like Pure Poison. I own both and Pure Poison is more mellow and has a clean white floral soapy quality (which is also delicious! I love both scents!) Midnight Garden is incredibly creamy and rich without being cloying. The lily and honeysuckle keep the scent fresh and not heavy. Each note is harmonious with one another and this scent is just plain amazing. A must try for white floral lovers!

Midnight Garden is a beautiful white floral fragrance. Sweet, creamy, and a little intoxicating, yet doesn't go too far. I think this is something you could wear every day that others wouldn't find too offensive. I love the honeysuckle in this. It really makes the fragrance for me.

Big wet white floral, with a slightly spicy lily. Primarily a tuberose scent, which makes it smell slightly vintage. I agree with others that this tuberose lacks the typical grapey bubblegum or green aspects it commonly has in perfume. The scent becomes waxier as it dries as gardenia becomes more noticeable, and develops a slight soapiness on my skin. An everyday springtime perfume, is very potent if over applied.

This starts out buttery and creamy but quickly softens to a very wearable bouquet of white flowers. Considering how potent white florals can be, this perfume is relatively soft and close to the skin. I don't find it to be a dupe of Fracas, but it easily could be her quiet cousin. I think this one gets better with age. I've had this for about 8 months now and at first it had a bit of a sharpness that I found distracting, but each month I think it gets a bit smoother and creamier. Recommend if you're a white floral lover!

this is a pretty and light scent that, on me, is all white florals and nothing else. i can’t pick out individual flowers enough to say what’s the most prominent, it’s just a melange of tuberose, lily of the valley, and gardenia. reminds me of kai in that’s it’s a very “jeans and a t-shirt”, casual and wearable white floral.

Rich, creamy, indolic white floral. A little too indolic if you ask me, almost bordering gourmand category. In a freshly pollinated by a honeybee kind of way. I was hoping for a little more dominant honeysuckle, gardenia and lily shine all the way. Dab with caution!
