I purchased a trial directly from Alkemia. For the first hour or so I smelled honey and beeswax, but also orange blossoms and anise. After that it smelled like honey, beeswax, and powder. 17 hours later, I can still smell it as a close skin scent. It is warm and a comfort fragrance... can't wait to try layering this with my vanilla fragrances!

I really like Miel de Sauvage et Tabac (Discontinued but same house) and thought this would be nice, too. It's...not the same. It doesn't smell like honey. It just bears the suggestion of honey. It sort of reminds me of the cheap baklava I sometimes indulge in, which I can get at the Grocery Outlet clearinghouse store, that's made with mostly corn syrup and just a little bit of actual honey. The Tabac layering note is much nicer, in my opinion.

This was extremely sweet to me, more like rock candy or straight sugar than honey. I kept hoping it would warm up on my skin, but it never did. It was very bright, though.

This is single note: Honey / Miel Oliffac DEPR by IFF similar to the powdery honey note found in the (more complex) Kim Kardashian Pure Honey fragrance. I wish this was a little less powdery and a bit more resinous, like real honey. I found that it lacks anything to ground it - as it is, after all, a single note, not a composition. It is OK to layer with more complex scents that can use a little sweetening. But ultimately I found it too powdery, so I got rid of it.

The only Alkemia I've tried that I dislike... kind of smells like urinal cakes. Way too sweet

This was a massive disappointment. Smells harsh, artificial, and like chemicals. I scrubbed it off immediately. Not sure how anyone can really enjoy it. Smells horrendous.

From my sample which is maybe 4 years old: it really smells like honey, and maybe like, if you ever buy a nice bar of soap whose scent is just 'honey' - that's what this smells like. It's not sweet on me really. I really love it.
