Moss Maiden

Not at all harsh but still a very green scent. All the ingredients are blended masterfully. I almost get a soft floral eucalyptus. And it just gets better with age. Ts a perfect scent for a rainy spring day. It has depth and nooks that reveal themselves over the opening, heart and drydown. Longevity, as always, is impressive and its becomes a skin scent within the first hour however that doesn't bother me given Alkemias' prices are so affordable. You can over apply and experiment with your sillage trail. A must if you love green florals, simply gorgeous.

Oh this borders on love for me! It opens with a blast of super green and grassy lily of the valley (unlisted) as joe.batt stated below then settles into a calm green moss with leaves gently nudged forward by a tiny teensy dose of amboxan which gives the whole thing a little lift. I would’ve been happy with a little more moss and galbanum but this is really lovely to wear regardless. I also wonder if there’s a dash of camomile in here, I think I can smell that too and it is a calming perfume (on me).

Dewy, mossy, and GREEN. It isn't an authentic nature scent (to me). It doesn't so much replicate plants and moss and such as evoke a feeling of being in the middle of a lush, dewy, mossy, loamy greenscape. I love it.

This perfume smells just like Santal 33 except it’s a bit sweeter and more syrupy, but has the same sharp spicy cardamom that’s almost mentholated and icy instead of smoky (not listed, just to my nose). I’m surprised people like this perfume because this also smells exactly like every homemade indian dessert I’ve ever had, so I always associated this smell with some family secret. That’s right, it smells like halwa or prasada (cream of wheat with butter and sugar), and payasam (rice, tapioca, or vermicelli pudding). It’s a combo of cardamom, saffron, rose, and maybe clove, which definitely aren’t notes listed in the ingredients, so it’s not a literal description. But I was very much hit with a wave of familiarity from that distinct sweet, sharp scent from this, which is probably the fir. It definitely has a slight balsamic, resinous hint to it. The moss smell isn’t strongly apparent because it’s overwhelmed by the sweetness, but I can get a faint whiff on my wrist. This is one of those perfumes that depends strongly on body chemistry. If you tend to project sweet smells, this perfume will turn syrupy on you, but if you tend to project chypre scents, then this one might bring a balance of green and sweet.

Wet and mossy, airy and aromatic, green and earthy. The immediate aftermath of a torrential downpour in a decaying pine forest grove: the ground littered in rotting trunks covered in thick moss, standing trees sloughing off bark, a hint of spicy resins wafting about. Strong scent bubble that pulls in over 3-5hr, longevity 12hr+. Has an almost aldehydic clean sparkle to it that invokes the feel of a fantastical, misty fog rolling through the forest. A witchy vibe.

When this first goes on it’s SO mossy in a way that’s really interesting but maybe doesn’t read as a people-scent. As it dries down, though, it goes floral and incense-y, like a good-smelling fairtrade shop but with that mossy forest smell as a background. I can’t quite decide whether I’d get a full bottle to wear but it’s really complex and interesting and I definitely like it a lot.

Moss Maiden is very interesting. It's green and mossy as the name suggests, but also quite spicy. The calamus provides a hot cinnamon spiciness that's vey pronounced on me. I also pick up some fresh balsam and a little sweet incense. Terrific scent!

a mossy but sharp green and earthy scent! I've always found there is something spicy about it as well. I went on a trip to Prague in the winter, and this is the only fragrance i brought, so it reminds me of then.

I love this perfume. I'm typically a green floral girl, but this takes that green note and makes it so much deeper and spicier, and it's so strong! It's my go-to winter scent :)

The exact scent of every cupboard in my house when I was little (my parents are pagan), it reminded me of the good parts of my childhood. That is, after it settled. Initially the smell was actually disgusting, like cleaning solution. It eventually settled into the nice scent, but faded almost instantly. I could also only smell it when I specifically smelled the spot on my wrist where I applied it. I definitely won't be buying a full bottle of this.

Fresh, clean, and green. It says there's balsam in there but my nose doesn't catch it. It smells very similar to Vert Sur Le Vert with a burst of clean florals and a slight hint of spice. However the scent is gone less than an hour or two after you apply it, and the sillage is entirely unnoticeable. I very much enjoy Alkemia's unique scents, I'd like them to have more staying power and projection.

I agree with the reviews saying it smells like soap. It smelt very sharp and intense. I'm still afraid to wear it and incase people ask me why I smell like soap. It is definitely herbal and mossy, but again, the soapy undertone ruins it. It does become more sweet and less soapy as it ages. It's a complex scent, I can't decide whether I like it or not. Average projection and longevity

You’ll want to love this- it’s huge and lovely in bottle, but in 30mins the moss is all but gone, leaving a VERY gentle leafy, aquatic soap in it’s wake. Not full tilt Irish spring, more a calamus incense with its muted sticky green sweetness, but just a touch. Lovely, but gone too soon.

Highly concentrated green scent, It’s almost too intense to smell natural. Is nature this aggressive? It’s also loamy and earthy with an almost a soapy, detergent-like accord. I feel like I just washed my clothes with soil and moss. If something could be sharp, clean, and earthy at the same time, it is this scent. Can’t say that I’m bewitched but it is definitely something I have never smelled before and I wouldn’t call it an imitation of nature. It is something in and of itself. Intrinsically Aklemia.

Woof, unfortunately, this turned into irish spring soap on my skin almost immediately. Sharp, strong green and almost nothing else- I've spent a not insignificant portion of my time in mossy wooded areas, I've certainly never smelled anything that's come close to this. There's a bit of a bite to it that reads more herbal than straight soap, but I guess my skin just doesn't vibe with this one. At least it fades in about 20 minutes.

would’ve loved for this to be a mossy forest fantasy world but alas, I found myself in an Irish Spring

Very green and clean fragrance. Gotta say, I'm a little disappointed as I was expecting something a lot more heavy and herbal, but it's a quite soapy, quite gentle fragrance. It's masterfully blended, and an earthiness does linger far in the background, but it's a little too clean/floral for me.

I loved how it smelled in the bottle so much, it was all fresh green moss and fir trees and wet leaves and it really reminded me of a camping trip in the woods. but once it touched my skin, all I could smell was incense. maybe a tiny of the fir or cedar, but like 90% incense. :(

A good loamy blend like a forest floor. Lots of moss and galbanum make this a forest walk/dryad type of atmosphere.
