Patchouli Cacao

I am normally not a patchouli lover (at least in the way I usually think of patchouli: head shop or hippie patchouli). However, in this perfume oil, the patchouli complements the cacao in a very nice way. Patchouli Cacao is named appropriately. It is a cacao-centric perfume which includes patchouli, not the other way around. I like to roll on a bit of this before bed. It comes in a 5ml only, though, so I go through it too quickly. If you know of something similar which comes in a larger quantity, please private message me. Give this perfume a try, if you like chocolate with some earthiness.

Earthy patchouli, bitter cacao, sweet soft flowery vanilla. Who would have thought these three could be so beautifully balanced ? This is such a warm comforting fragrance- and sometimes I can smell a herbal, almost minty green note. Each of the three notes prevent the other dominating and it is mysteriously lovely. When I wear it, I think of Juliet Binoche and her gorgeous shop in the film Chocolat. I imagine it to smell like this lovely perfume oil- earthy, sweet, sumptuously chocolately with a mysterious almost floral quality...almost.

I got 10 samples from them, and this was the one I loved instantly, after taking my time with the other samples I got to love most of them, but this was different, it's linear and holds the same initial vibe till the end. It's bitter raw cacao with mildly dirty patchouli, def old school patchouli but not as dirty or raw as the vintage ones. The scent is beautifully earthy and warm, it has a very faint sweet aspect to it. Beautiful.

This is the first patchouli I’ve truly loved, and I think the chocolate makes all the difference. I invested in a full bottle after sampling. Makes me want to be outside in the summer. Would be splendid even in hot weather. It’s really just two notes in harmony but it’s wonderful.

Lovely blend, earthy, real, gourmand, not too sweet. Dries down to a soft vanilla, cacao and patch are barely remaining. Still nice.
