Sandscape

This one is a bit too much of a basic marine for me. I enjoy it, but I wanted something more atmospheric, more complex. Mostly, I just catch sea notes and fresh air, a bit of white musk towards the end of the dry down, but not much. That said, I think this is a wonderful scent for the humid days of summer where you need a clean, lively pick-me-up to complement the heat of the day.

I own quite a few Alkemia oils and enjoy them all, but this one is too much marine for me. I was hoping for more hot sand and sea salt, but on me this is bathroom air freshener. I mix it with some others to freshen them up.

I was looking for the perfect "beach scent" when I ordered a sample of Sandscape. As much as I like sunscreen inspired scents, I wanted a a true marine scent that recreated what one would smell like after bathing in the ocean, sunscreen or not. The saltiness and kind of grimy scent that sticks to you. Given that there were no listed notes of anything like coconut or vanilla made me think this would be "the one" unfortunately this missed the mark SO MUCH. This scent is so floral! It smelled exactly like a synthetic "Febreeze" bathroom spray version of the beach. I was disappointed.

notes per Alkemia's description: Sun warmed beach sand, Atlantic ocean breezes, the saline-aquatic scent of drying sea water on skin, and the faintest hints of tanning oil and seaweed. on me it's floral, green and wet, but in more of a dewy morning grass way than a marine way. it's neither fresh nor dank but it does have a bit of weight and a transparent (white?) floral sweetness that keep the greens from leaning bitter. it seemed linear throughout wearing. i can't detect much salt air, sand, skin musk, or any other dry baked-in notes that make me think fading suntan lotion and salty skin after a day at the beach. it's not a bad fragrance at all, it's just not what i expected from the given notes and the seemingly well-suited (and perfectly whimsical) name Sandscape. i think it would have more value as a non-wearable fragrance. it would make a nice scent for fresh linens, or as another reviewer suggested, a candle.

I really like this Alkemia scent. It reminds me of an alternate version of Bobbi Brown's BEACH perfume. It is a very clean smell, and after about 15 minutes of application, I can almost smell the heat and the sand on my skin! It works really well on me...I like it. And it lasts all day, too. If you like BEACH, I would recommend trying Sandscape!

Very marine, like other reviewers have said, but I feel that there's a bit of a mineral note there as well. It actually kind of reminds me of the inside of a limestone cave, and that might be the reason that it reads "cool" to my nose. I find this quite wearable, I am a fan of the "febreze" scents so interpret that however you want.

Clean beach linen. I think better suited to a candle. It does smell a bit like a Fabreeze as another reviewer stated. Its Nothing like Bobbi Brown Beach which smells a little like suntan lotion to me. This doesnt smell like that at all.
