Shinrin-Yoku

Definitely has some of that hippie or head shop vibe, something that I dig. The earthy note in the base is unique though, kinda like their Gaea scent, it is more of wet earth than a dry earthiness. All of the ingredients work well together, and I particularly like the way the fir blends with the spicey notes. It is fairly non-offensive, except to people who may be offput by anything incensy or with patchoulli.

My favorite ive gotten from alkemia. smells more like the dried rinds of oranges than the fruit itself in my opinion. very sharp citrus on opening, dries down be very spicy and earthy. it does very much remind me of being in an orange grove.

From Alkemia's website I learned that Shinrin-Yoku means "taking in the forest atmosphere" or "forest bathing." This fragrance is an amazing journey through the forest and is aptly named. I get everything from the damp soil of the forest floor to the tops of the fresh, citrusy fir trees. There is a spicy undertone and I pick up wafts of delicate water notes as well. A beautifully crafted fragrance!

Warm and woodsy with just the right amount of spice. I got more incense than citrus and wasn't sure about it at first, but after wearing it for a few hours it really grew on me. I probably won't FS it but it's a lovely fragrance and I'm really enjoying the sample.

The initial citrus is dish-washer-liquid aggressive, good thing it calms down fast into something simply lemony. After that, it sweetened on me into something non-specific, probably patchouli, but the firs or earth never came. I suppose i need to give this sample a lot of time to mature, but atm it's not doing much for me.
