Spiritus Fumosus

Initially I was very put off by this scent. Maybe put off is the wrong way of describing it, rather I was flabbergasted by what I was smelling, to the point it took a few wears for this scent to grow on me and to figure out what it was this specifically smelled of to me. Finally it clicked! This smells like a forge, abandoned in the northern woods during a soft rain. Wet, earthy, METALLIC, yet ancient...as if a robot from a lost civilization clawed itself from a bog on an overcast day, multiple "flavors" of earth mingling together, crying into the sky for a touch of sunshine...only to be met by a wet, ozonic embrace, as the environment slowly reclaims it, rusting it's once brilliant carapace. This is a scent for very specific persons, but for those it aligns with, it's sure to be in heavy rotation, if not a possible signature fragrance as it is for me. Do note with this one, be prepared to wear it for no less than 10 hours, as I can put it on shortly before a twelve hour shift, and still smell it quite noticeably as I'm clocking out.

Spiritus Fumosus smells like rocks: wild and majestic and lonely rocks. For me it evokes a stone circle on a windswept heath after a summer rainstorm, the rocks still warm to the touch, the grasses fragrant and dappled with raindrops. Unusual, mysterious, earthy, ancient, and liminal, it suggests a gateway between two worlds. I was so enchanted that, after blind-buying the first bottle, I wound up ordering a second bottle. Rare stuff. This is for those who love the idea of smelling like Stonehenge.

Adored this perfume. Very heavy on musk and smelled like PNW ocean air. Wish I could get it again!
