Stag Moon

This fragrance triggers memories of drinking, dancing, and drumming around a bonfire in the woods on crisp clear autumn nights with a party of my fellow free spirits. It's a powerful mood and memory scent to me, and because of that, I'm biased. I love it, the memories it triggers are good ones. I mostly smell the rum, smoke, moss, and wood notes. It's more of an atmospheric scent experience than a "perfume" to me. I've owned a bonfire scented candle that smelled very similar to it. But with this fragrance, I can discreetly sniff my wrist and enjoy the scent anywhere.

This, for me, is 100% cold ass weather perfume. Deep winter (which is basically fall for people who live in cooler climates) brings out the woods and the rum. If it's above about 60°F, all I get is powder and I have no idea why. If I were to live done place cooler, I'd buy a bottle or two but as it is, I do not and thus will not.

I find it sweet and kind of sunny, like a early autumn day, when the leaves are already red and yellow, and start to dry and crunch under the feet. Cloves are standing out the most, but the whole blend is multi-layered and enjoyable.

One of my favorites from the brand next to Ydalir and Falling Stars at Winter Solstice. This is a multi-faceted scent, moss and wood lending a cool forest feel, and maple and clove and rum give it a feel of baking Christmas confections. A light smoke note bridges the two halves, it could be the traces of a winter bonfire or the crisped edges of pastries left too long in the oven. Sits close to the skin as most oils do, but lingers for most of the day. If it were released in Alkemia's new EDP format I would not hesitate to buy a bottle in replacement of my 5ml rollerball.

When it comes to fall maple scents, this is a top for me. This scent is rich, woody, sweet, but it somehow has this fresh almost minty breeze aspect right at the top. Almost as if a wind gust cut through it. The rum's alcohol content has evaporated. It's infused in maple syrup and chocolate. There is birch, and there also is fern and a mossy aspect. The smoke is cold and refreshing. This is an early fall, maybe early October or late September. The leaves are everywhere, but the moss is still alive. Really well done.

Has to be experienced! Transported me to a night in the forest during wintertime. But I imagine that it does other things to other people. A bit like "Falling stars on winter solstice", they don ́t smell the same, but they have some components in common. Maybe it ́s the Alkemia DNA.
