The Raven

One of my very favorites! Definitely a leather-forward scent. There is something in it that strikes me as mineral (the ink?). Honestly, though the imagery others describe is darkness, this mineral smell reminds me of sunlight on quartz rock. Theres very little sweetness - even the florals only lend it a soft, green note to my nose. It's like a cool-weather hike though the woods by a sunlit stream with a leather jacket on. It's certainly an edgy, unisex scent.

Definitely leathery, but less "shoe store for old men" and more "worn leather jacket". There's a sweetness to it, a kind of peppery floral scent that I love! I was kind of worried by the leather and ink notes but honestly it smells soo good. Mature, androgynous and kind of sexy. Real slightly pretentious bad boy type reading Kafka outside a cafe while smoking a hand rolled cigarette kinda vibes.

This is quite strong, almost acrid-smelling when you first put it on. Ink is listed as a note, and as someone who uses a fountain pen regularly, it DOES indeed smell like my Diamine Onyx Black ink. The problem with this is that ink is not actually terribly good smelling in concentrated doses, and this is so concentrated it almost gives me a headache when I first put it on. I had thought the ink would be more of a background note to the leather & flowers, but I was wrong. That said, after about an hour, the ink fades into the background where I like it to be, and the scent opens up a lot more. It smells like freshly treated leather and pepper, with maybe a hint of Iris in there. My skin eats perfume a little, so I have been pleasantly surprised to see that this has been quite long lasting. I've been able to smell it on me for almost 6 hours now, and with that more muted leather-ink-pepper trio, it's quite pleasant. TL;DR: Don't put this on directly as you leave the house and you'll be golden.

Dark, leathery, and super cool. Wearing this makes me feel like some twisted poet plotting in a big old castle, or like a scholar in the winter rain. It gives me villain vibes and it makes me feel powerful. It smells very sharp.

Dark, cool leather, ink and violets are what I smell. Reminds me of a dark, fall evening when the leaves are starting to come down before winter.

Very "blunt" perfume - not as in it hits you, but as in it feels like it nudges rather than cuts, a soft-scented hammer of oiled wood softly tapping at the back of your mind. This scent does not stand out to us overly much - perhaps because our everyday life already smells like it, but as a fountain pen user, we find that the single note that stood out most to us was the ink - the rest sort of fades into the background, and the smell of the ink sneaks up on us to make us question if we've left something open. We'd say that it most smells like our small collection of Tomo & Lims ink. The iris scent was notable, but not quite enough to offset the impact of the ink smell, and the leather was practically undetectable without sniffing and squinting very hard for a bit - an undertone, rather than an overtone. While that might be to some people's liking, it isn't really our style. We gifted it to a friend who complimented it on the day we tested it out, as we would struggle to make use of it ourself without constantly worrying if our pocket pen had lost its cap.

It smells like a bathroom air fresher meets old perfume, not very fond of it to be honest :( It fades off into a nicer, mellow smell though. It's quite sharp, probably from the ink (not very familiar with the notes...), it's very similar to diptyque on my skin. Either Alkemia perfumes are often kind of soapy or I'm bad at picking from their impressively huge collection. I see this working on somebody bold and androgynous. (Edit 8/2025 I put it in my laundry and somehow liked it??)

first whiff it reminds me of a brand new car, it’s kind of airy? smells like ball point pen and faintly soapy but not in a bad way. reminds me of like dove soap, i like it, but not enough to get a full size of it

I really liked the idea of ink, leather, iris and violet. It smelt weird when I received my sample, but even after aging it smelt weird on my skin. I don't think Alkemias ink notes agree with my skin chemistry - I get this funky, farm smell. I had the same problem with Book of Shadows.

Impossibly sexy, straight ahead. Especially if you equate sexiness with leather and black pepper and aromatics. It’s like slipping on my leather jacket after washing myself with a herbal soap. The primal smell of leather heating over my bare skin mixing with the smell of spices. Applied to my hair, it surrounds me, with a projection much stronger than I would have anticipated. This is a scent for a person who knows what’s what; it’s adult, formed, direct, explicit. Scent: Gorgeous 10/10 Sillage: 8/10 Longevity: 7/10

At first all I could smell was leather, so I layered on a lot more and then also could detect black pepper, tobacco too, with a faint mélange that might be these other notes. But for the most part, it's a really nice leather and not much else. Still, great layering note.
