Idyllic

TEST STRIP ONLY: This scent is gorgeously complex, and I get almost every note when I inhale my test strip deeply. This leans traditionally unisex. Devana flower brightens this summer-friendly scent as well as the pineapple. Though I think the pineapple simultaneously sweetens Idyllic without it going into gourmand or ‘edible’ category. The pineapple, ginger, and blood orange give Idyllic an uplifting experience at the dry down; it’s a welcome departure from the ever-present bergamot note in so many fragrances. I get the star anise note (beautifully blended in the background). I don’t get much spearmint. If Kinesis (review below) is built for summer dates in the sunshine, Idyllic is built for summer dates after dark. However, I don’t think Idyllic can only be worn in summer nights. It would be gorgeous fall and winter days too. This isn’t super mass-appealing, but I find Idyllic absolutely intoxicating! I want to smell like it and I want my spouse to smell like it. For this only being a paper test, I give this 100/10. Can’t wait to try this on skin! Also very similar to Penhaligon’s “Eau du Adacity” and Paris Corner’s “Rifaqaat.” KINESIS PAPER TEST She’s uniquely floral and a quirky fresh spicy! I’d say is traditionally feminine, yet anyone can like a floral scent!!! I also get the sense that Alloy Studio is very ok with playing with gender :) Kinesis is for the floral lovers, but it would also be a great entry point from the warm/spicy category. The neroli leads the way with this fun, unexpected and truly lovely perfume. I also get a green rose that’s both newly bloomed and freshly rained on. In the dry down I get the white lotus, which is a notably watery floral note. I think the musk at the base is the thread connecting each note together like an olfactory tapestry! I could see Kinesis as a best seller at Ulta, Boots and Sephora. It could be at home at a perfume counter at any major department store. I get a salty accord that smells like seawater drying on your skin in the sun. It’s so summer coded and sexy. I’d want to wear this all during the warm months but especially at the pool or at a park/garden/arboretum. 9.7/10 can’t wait to test on skin!

I truly love this. On first spray there's something gorgeous and slightly sweet but not cosseting, viciously nostalgic, almost alive in how bubbly and bright it is. It settles down and the spices are SO gorgeous. I don't like the way the spearmint jumps out for a little bit during the dry down but with the pineapple smell as it settles it's just insanely pretty. The perfect eve, adonis, etc, capturing and!!!! unisex. I am deeply abnormal. edit: this still holds up! every time i feel a bit anxious, in a situation too unfamiliar or stressful, this is what i reach for.

I have been waiting to try out this brand and it did not disappoint! Idyllic is not my usual scent profile - but I will grab it occasionally for a light hearted day. It starts off super citrusy and juicy (not so much sweet but the blood orange is naturally sweet) very strong on the blood orange pineapple & davana. The mid/dry down becomes ambery and resinous and a bit boozy - which I enjoy. Overall safe and pleasant fragrance. I do wish it projected a bit more as I prefer beast mode fragrances but it smells so good as an intimate leaning scent

Beautiful deep and juicy fruit notes coming through with a spearmint which I love cause it’s not a tooth-paste kind of mint. It lends sort of a sweet and frosted effect like having the taste of your gum mix with a sweet and boozy margarita. The ginger and star anise in this also provide the nicest and sexiest spicy effect. Also I don’t want to hear anything about this opinion you can think as you may—but if you are apart of the Black Diaspora this is a scent I would highly recommend.

This is golden hour sunshine in a bottle. Smells like a fruit punch cocktail as you’re sitting on a Caribbean beach as a blazing sun beats down. It’s sweet, with a blast of pineapple that is cooled down with a refreshing minty note. It’s utterly divine. The type of fragrance that just makes you smile. This is also perfectly unisex. Lots of juicy sweetness that will attract the female audience but that lovely mint note for the men

Drinking pineapple juice on the beach. Reading under the sun as the waves of the bluest sea you’ve ever seen softly crash against the sand. This is a fragrance that takes me far, far away from the crushing weight of my responsibilities. Have you ever smelled something that feels tropical yet doesn’t smell tropical? Just a vague sense of fruitiness; a raw pineapple note that isn’t overly sweet or fruity as it can be in other fragrances. Add to it sour blood orange, fresh mint, spicy ginger, a faint yet detectable star anise on top: it almost sounds like a delicious cocktail recipe. As it dries down, the cedar comes forth and adds a slightly boozy aspect to the mix. Then comes the tonka bean’s softness. The olfactive journey this fragrance takes you through is reminiscent of ginger shots on an empty stomach: a spicy ginger bomb, then comes the soft caress of a peaceful body. A moment of relaxation encapsulated in a bottle. It’s the kind of scent that don’t particularly match my vibe, i wouldn’t wear it on a daily basis but i could see myself Craving it in on very specific vacation related occasions. I will be holding on to my sample and saving it for sunset long meditative walks by the beaches of my beloved hometown.

There's something in here that feels deeply personal, like a reflection of my childhood. I think it's the ginger and star anise - aniseed, as I know it. It's Caribbean in a way that feels intimate, that feels familiar, without even trying. The omission of coconut here (that overdone note in so many summery and tropical fragrances) is what does it for me. Only tourists think the smell of coconut is synonymous with the Caribbean. By not trying at all, Idyllic scratches an itch in my brain I didn't think I'd ever find relief for. This is pineapple from roadside sellers, ginger from the seasoning we put on everything, aniseed from mauby (that Trinbagonian drink made from boiling tree bark with spices). It's new, yet familiar. Minty-citrus used as a medium to tell a familiar story in a new and exciting way.

ginger beer. piña colada. mint julep. alloy studio has managed to bottle up the scent memories of the black diaspora and serve it on the rocks. imma shout it from the rooftops: idyllic is black as hell! and unapologetically so. i've never smelled something this culturally evocative before. the standout notes include a cooling spearmint, juicy blood orange, spicy ginger, metallic pineapple, leathery labdanum, and creamy tonka bean. to my nose idyllic leans masculine. it shares the 'citrus-pepper-amber-woods' quartet of many popular cologne releases of the 2010s: Sauvage (2015), Dylan Blue (2016), and La Nuit de L'Homme Le Parfum (2010) to name a few. while idyllic may not be the scent for me, it's only a matter of time before it develops a cult following.

A warm ambery scent with pineapple, ginger and star anise. Also this nice mint freshness! Rayray_131308 - it’s not the brand’s fault you blind bought. They have discovery sets for $45. Big rookie mistake.

This is sweet, tangy, tart, and spicy. The most forward notes are pineapple, anise, mint. It's botanical and natural smelling. Really pretty and unique!

Smelled this at Stelé because the bottle is so beautiful... somehow, smells exactly like smoky chamomile tea to me?!

sour and spicy! definitely too masculine for my own use, but something i'd rather give my partner. the pineapple-star anise combo is so unique!

not a juicy sweet pineapple at all, it comes across quite metallic to me and quite masculine, maybe a combo of the mint and pineapple but even then it's not a nice, youthful, vibrant pineapple gum if that's what you're looking 4.

this smells like a pineapple vape, would not suggest if you've recently quit nicotine

Listen @barcelonaboi10 I spent almost 750 dollars to get those two perfumes and they were both AWFUL the packaging was already ruined and opened and the scents were HORRIBLE. I ordered them to support a small indie brand but when it is a terrible product that not a person I know would ever wear I’m not going to pretend it is especially when I spent more money with them then I’m sure you have. I’m allowed to have an opinion! I actually bought 2 full bottles. Ok. I have a huge perfume collection and love trying things and these were overpriced and terrible and I’m allowed to say it. Im not sure what everyone is talking about, all I get from this is spearmint gum mixed with some vague fruitiness. I’ve tried everything from Alloy in a discovery set and it was ALL bad. Everything was super artificial and bizarre, everyone that tried them with me agreed also. The worst ones were probably Luster and Faux.

Nothing fresh or juicy! Not even close smells like a dried out old tea bag. Confusing and unpleasant, I honestly don’t know who would wear this. It’s flat and stagnant smelling literally like a dried out teabag the mint makes zero sense in this already terrible scent.

Idyllic: This fragrance is so sweet! I revisited my initial impression, and now I'm calling it an Idyllic Punch cocktail. I couldn't use it the first time, but I'm trying again, and this time it smells amazing, 🍹like a super yummy piña colada, sweet and tangy! I don't get the artificial flavors that bothered me before. I'm really surprised by these reviews! I don't get the mint or other spices at all. Nor does it lean masculine, at least to my nose. To me this is an extremely juicy dark pineapple with deep resinous notes. On the dry down it gets addictingly musky with a hint of something sexy and anamalic. This is like a pineapple that's just on the edge of being too ripe, deep yellow and super sticky juicy. I find it super alluring!

I love this scent.. it manages to be warm, tropical, and fresh all at the same time. I haven't tried anything like it before - it has this ultra green herbal quality that pairs nicely with the fruity notes.
