Concrete Rain

Love at first sniff. It's my favorite scent out of this AllSaints line. Light, fresh, clean, professional, simple, daytime scent. Great for spring and summer. No one at the office should be offended by this scent. Definitely unisex. It has all good qualities of a fresh aquatic ozonic scent, without its potential downsides - it's not sharp or nose-piercing. I wanted to buy a travel set with two other fragrances but it is sold out :( I compared it side by side to Creed Millésime Impérial and it's NOT the same scent, but I do see some similarity. Creed is more masculine while Concrete Rain is more unisex. More importantly, Concrete Rain is more aquatic, ozonic, light, crisp, fresh, clean, uplifting and transparent, while Creed is more soft, toned-down and citrusy (bergamot). I prefer Concrete Rain over Millesime Imperial. I see more similarity to Aqua di Parma Colonia Pura, and some similarity to Concrete Comme des Garcons, which I both like and have. I am happy to own a full bottle.

Finally - a true petrichor note!!! Concrete Rain throws a bit of a curveball, though: I was expecting "rain on concrete" in a cold drizzly Autumn/Winter's day kind of way, and I bet many others have gone into this expecting the same, but there's actually a lot of warmth! It reminds me of unexpected rainfall in the middle of an otherwise hot humid day, with a sort of metallic twang placing it firmly in an urban environment rather than nature. There's even a "thickness" to it that reminds me of that smell in the air before a thunder storm. The spice pulls strong on my skin, but the freshness of that petrichor note sticks around (surprisingly) for almost the entirety of its wear time to balance it out. Longevity is about 5 hours, or up to 7-8 hours if I'm just at home.

Quintessential grey day + true to name Not too warm or woody with the musk - well balanced and brings the concrete coolness. Opens and doesn't budge much in a very pleasant way. Comfort in protection. Fresh without giving soap, shower, green or even really blue. Indeed rain. The scent of silver and shine. if you know what I mean by this, blind buy friendly for sure~

this fragrance smells delectable over a bare vanilla, I use the Victoria secret romantic lotion, let that dry, bare vanilla Victoria secret body spray all over my body, let that dry and concrete rain on my pulse points and in my hair. Sounds overpowering, I know but it actually smells amazing. And my boyfriend + other boys really enjoy it!

It's 80% Millesime Imperial, with small facets of Comme des Garcons Concrete in the open. You can pick up a clean iris a tiny bit too in the mid. It's a very fresh aquatic take on some otherwise not-so-fresh accords. Very happy with this one.
