Santa Cristina

Santa Cristina is for me overall a rose fragance. It is a very nice and intense fragrance with a very soft sweet touch and a Green/Woody background. This rose comes rounded by other flowers but, although some of them, like Jasmine ir Orange blossom, are noticeable, the main role is for the rose from the beggining til the end of the perfume. It is a very weareable scent, for any season and any time, and probably for any ocasión. It is un adition for me totally unisex since i think that It even doesnt lean a bit more on the femenine side...no...for me It is for both men and women and if you are a Guy and like rose fragrances this perfume Will be for you. If you like rose de taif by perris Montecarlo, lyric man by amouage or black aoud by montale I am almost sure that you Will LOVE santa Cristina. Testing this blind from the ScentXplore bag, I found the opening very interesting; a dark moody rose, at times powdery chocolate, and at times dark and fruity, like black cherries, with a background that feels a bit earthy throughout. It gets a bit more powdery as it settles, but remains grounded and doesn't venture into powder bomb territory. Looking at the notes, its those base notes mixed with the florals that gives this fragrance it's character, yes rose but but dark, mysterious, and keeping secrets. Eventually the powder dissipates by the end of the day but the echo is an intimate skin scent, a mirage of the base notes. Midnight rose and and seemingly romantically aromatic, it appears to be marketed as feminine but I find it quite unisex. Emo goth boys and girls should take it for a whirl. At this price point though, save it for those late night gatherings.

As you can guess, this is a rose-dominant fragrance. Different floral notes are used in this fragrance; geranium and lavender are used in more masculine fragrances while jasmine and iris are more common in feminine fragrances. In my opinion, the combination of all these flowers did not end with a unique or well-balanced scent. The scent is floral but heavy and the floral notes are mixed with slightly sweet, earthy, and spicy base notes. Creating a unique and acceptable rose fragrance is not an easy task and this one is no exception (Not a successful creation). While its performance is good, and the quality is high but there is nothing in this fragrance that attracts me. But you try it, you may like it. 6/10
