Aroosah

I discovered oriental fragrance oils 4 years ago and subsequently purchased many small, 3 ml vials of Al Rehab from various vendors. Tried and discarded. Most of them contain oud, not real oil of course, but synthetic, probably even in different versions. I was a newbie about oud, it fascinated me and at the same time didn't really appeal to me. Now, four years later, I brought it back up from the cool basement where I stored the various perfumes and tried it: I perceive the scent of Aroosah as something completely different than before! Has the oil "matured"? Probably not the oil, but myself or my nose. I suspect that I perceive differently today and, moreover, I take time to engage with the scent, to scan it in its different facets and to trace the changes over time. And then I learned another difference. Namely, that many oils smell pungent and off-putting on the skin when you press your nose right into it, and especially too quickly, whereas the air around me, the scent trail I'm trailing, smells delicious. Most Al Rehab oils and sprays take some time to develop, quite unlike perfumes from Lattafa, for example, which are IMMEDIATELY accessible and pleasantly scented. Perhaps they are designed for immediate effect and quite a few do not want to disturb with corners. Aroosah starts very strong, a certain sharpness, something floral-herbaceous-bitter. This is probably mainly the chamomile or chamomile tea. But there are also initially pungent or "spiky" smelling white flowers. The floral remains throughout the fragrance, the tart-bitter also remains for a long time and I also feel that this is a unique selling point of this fragrance. Unmistakable. And after a few hours, a woody-warm tone slowly overlaps the blend and it becomes sweeter, not very strong. The tart notes and the very slight sweetness towards the end make Aroosah very wearable for men without any risk, I think. If you don't want to smell only extremely of dark wood and leather or - the other end of the men's scale - of fruity-citrusy freshness, but also like florals, Aroosah is recommended. I will not hide the fact that Aroosah does not smell modern. The mainstream fragrances, which I today even in well-visited pedestrian areas the air impregnate and which correspond to the "trend", are completely different. Aroosah has a different concept and probably also comes from a different time: I'm thinking of the 80s and 90s. Parfumo knows 443 perfumes from Al Rehab. No company history and date of creation is mentioned, but it takes decades to develop such variety of fragrances. Most of them probably extinct today. I guess Aroosah is also more of an old timer and the fact that it just hasn't been pulled out of consumption but continues to be produced due to continuous demand from its loyal customers also says something about the quality and appreciation of this perfume. So on, dear fragranticans, get 3 to 4 $ out of your wallets and grab a little bottle and above all: then report on your journey of discovery!

Review for roll on oil, not spray: The more I wear Aroosah, the more I love her.... She's challenging in some ways and exotic/sensual in others. I have to confess that I've only smelled Chamomile tea, not fresh chamomile flowers. The scent that I'm getting is more spicy and fresh than the aforementioned tea, almost like Marigolds more than chamomile! Also, I am smelling very little mint. Only a lovely green hint of something underneath. Notes I DO smell include: Generous Saffron Bit of Oud Sweet Jasmine Abundant Musk BOLD bitter almonds and the aforementioned Marigolds! The overall feeling is spicy-exotic, and I dare say not far off from the scented ropes of fresh flowers at Indian weddings. I understand how some will be smelling moth balls or camphor only... And I feel for them! Because this is seriously too good to miss - on the right chemistry and in the right weather. It's one of those scents that more than repays further acquaintance. If you're on the fence I recommend putting Aroosah away for a bit and coming back to sniff more later on. Yes, polarizing, rather than immediately likable or 'pretty'. Once you get past the initial blast, you may find her fresh, aromatic, musky, lightly sweet, spicy, and memorable. In other words, ALLURING. If you're looking for an easy-wear Arabian for a blind buy, I don't want to mislead you! Choose something like Choco Musk or Soft. But fearless fans of Al Rehab Noria (bitter almonds and a hint of coconut and jasmine) and Rumba (marigold party!) may want to give Aroosah a try. I promise that at the very least she won't bore you. ;) Five stars = excellent sillage, longevity, quality, and value.

Bitter Floral Chypre that opens similar to Mokhalat Al Rehab and Bakour less sweet or oudy with more pronounced Soapy Florals and sour herbal Musk this fragrance is very complex and powerful I can still smell it 24 hours after application there's a bit of oud hidden in the background the mix of chamomile marigolds ferns saffron give this a unique floral chypre spirit dominating and memorizing the top opens with a astringent floral smell lots of aldyhydes and oud that slowly get's dominated by the herbal musk every hour another note or 3 can be detected it has a sour herbal soapy vibe during the heart and a beautiful musky powdery green base I also detected a urine note which I love. Aroosah has a soapy skunked 1970's vibe with added florals and oud . A must have for chypre/aldehyde lovers this is definitely a more masculine scent woman need some confidence to pull this off it's a herbal soapy bitter pissy scent that is carried by herbaceous florals and sour woods polarizing challenging loud this is not safe for beginners it takes sharp turns from a soapy sour floral incense mixed with some synthethic urine it smells like a musky green colored powdery old lady ...only blind buy if bitter scents or aldehyde bombs are you're thing,,,, this is one of al-rehabs most complex and challenging fragrances 9.5 out of 10

I agree completely with a previous reviewer who noted that Aroosah is ideal when layered with Africana! They balance each other out to perfection. One more herbal, one very sweet. As for the scent Aroosah itself, I suspect the sharper, more pungent opening is saffron... gentle, sweet chamomile hours later. I do not personally notice more than a mere hint of mint, but the effect is gentle and calming. In fact, therapeutic! I wish I'd been to India to confidently affirm Shwets' review, but it comes as no surprise that someone would think of India and Aroosah in the same moment. This is the kind of spiciness and pungent goodness you will not find in most Western open markets.... Recommended, but not for the Arabian oil newbie. If your taste runs to the 'unsafe', then by all means explore this unique aura that is Aroosah! For me, Aroosah is Comfortingly Exotic. <3

Aroosah is very strong (and a little unpleasant) at the beginning- after it sits a while, and is rubbed lightly into skin, I get lovely powdery-green herbs, woods and just a bit of sweetness. More feminine than masculine but I suppose it also depends on the wearer. Absolutely worth trying! The longevity is the shortest of my Al Rehab oils, where it becomes a skin scent after 4-5 hours, though longer over a base of grape seed oil. Still better than many generic store-bought perfumes, and it has an unbeatable price. KEEP IN MIND: These oils need to sit around a while after shipping so you can get the full sense of what the perfume smells like. Testing/smelling too soon after delivery is NOT an accurate representation of the perfume!

This one is weird with a beard but that's a good thing. Weird, in this case, equals original and how often do we meet that these days? The front end will put off a lot of those who try this one. I'm okay with that. I'm not sure I want to share this mistress. It starts with a blast of french marigolds and pyrethrum daisies. Bitter, harsh and confronting as a face slap. Hold on though and what you get is an amazing indolic white flower with sugar that dries down to an unusual musk. The bitter note does linger but in a regressed form and this enriches the indole. I've never met this before but hell's bells it is good. It reminds me a bit of Lush Lust. It's not a dupe level resemblance but close enough to see it easily.

I am addicted to this fragrance at the moment. I can't figure it out. The notes above can't be accurate. On application I do smell "field flowers": chamomile, daisies(?), marigolds, green, musky. But, there's a fleeting "fruity" note like dates or raisins, something sweet [dry]...not gourmand. It is powdery and classic in the "70s" or "80s" floral-aldehydic-chypre sense. I love aldehydes and chypres are a favorite. Definitely a hard one to figure out. IT IS NOT "woody"! Don't know where that comes from....

I met this lady at work as we spoke I told her she smells amazing. I started asking what perfume is it, she told me if you really like it take it, and she gave me her roll on 🥹🤲 the same minute I rubbed it on my arm, that day everyone who was passing me had to ask "what smells so amazing?" I have never gotten so many compliments in my life.

very interesting perfume, unlike any others i have tried. I have the 6ml rollerball oil. In the bottle this smells quite astringent and a little shrill, the first time I sniffed in the bottle I put the cap back on and walked away sharpish! The next time it sppealed to me a lot more, rather than smelling astringent it smelled quite herby and fresh with a slight almost antiseptic note. Intriguing. I tried a small dab on my forearm and the smell does warm within a few minutes on the skin. There is quite a sharp, hard edged note here, I am not sure what it is. I get this note, it is similar to tea tree oil or pine oil, possibly a litle sagey or even a hint of eucalyptus? I am not sure, but it does lend a very crisp almost piercing note that, as I said before has an almost medicinal antiseptic quality to it. There is also chamomile, perhaps roman chamomile which I also find has a sharp edge to it, and underneath there is a softer floral, a hiny of cool wood and a hint of musk. For the first few hours the herby sharp notes dominate but after the initial half hour these do round and soften and work with the skin more. Like I say, I found this intriguing as it slowly changed over the day, I could never pinpoint exactly what I was smelling at any time. After about 6-8 hours this suddenly and dramatically changes and becomes a warm, floral woody exotic scent that sits close to the skin and is just gorgeous. I found longevity to be very good - for a full days wear I dabbed my wrists and inner elbows, armpits, cleavage and behind my knees. I could still (very very faintly) smell this the following morning on my skin. The smell on my jumper was still there the next day. Projection is nice - it projects a little, maybe a foot or so away from the body whch is nice with a scent like this as I imagine it would not be to some people's taste. This really was like 2 scents in one, as around the 6-7 hour mark it changes so drastically into such a soft, warm and round smell. I also found, by accident that this is magnificent when paired with Mitsouko! Honestly - I put a small dab of this on my chest and fore arms followed by a couple of sprays of Mistouko and it is incredible! Give it a try for something different.

This review is for the CPO. Aroosah starts off with a quite a punch! Vividly sweet-green... I agree with the chamomile (herbal pineapple-y note), but also would add cilantro-leaf, basil, and a nice touch of "green" aldehydes. This part of the fragrance STRONGLY reminds me of how Al Haramain's 'Khaltath'/'Mukhallat opens... so check that one out too if you'd like another with a similar vibe (though Khalthat has a fruitier edge). Anyway, this first impression of Aroosah sloooowly fades and gives way to an unusual heart. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a caramel-like and/or almond-like section that becomes noticeable after a few hours, adding "warmth" to the green-ness. I'm actually reminded of 'China Rain' at this point in the drydown (as the musk also takes on a stronger role here) but it's at about the 6-hour mark that I become really surprised as the fragrance seems to be taking yet another turn: along with the musk is definitely sandalwood, and a wee touch of tonka's grassy-vanilla-ness- really such a gorgeous base! And this lasts for hours more yet... (!) You won't need two fragrances for days on which you wear this: it functions as both a daytime and evening fragrance- like two-in-one! I think it would be a bit too heavy for summer, maybe, but in my opinion perfect for the cooler months of spring and autumn. As others have said, this is probably not an attar for the newbies who might be put off by the assertive opening, and never leave it on long enough appreciate the whole story. 'Aroosah' is a strong "like" for me, and I reach for it when I want the novel experience that only it can deliver.

Aroosah is an acquired taste. It's kind of two things at once. A very soothing and mild chamomile note against a green, sharp, almost minty herbal with refreshing and invigorating qualities. It dries down rather herbaceous and powdery. It reminds me a bit of both ointments for stuffy nose and of sleep remedies. It has that weird combination of a pleasant floral and a somewhat astringent smell. Not everyones cup of tea, but I actually find it strangely intriguing. I like to sniff it now and then, it feels like the scent clears the mind. Almost like a therapeutic essential oil. I also like to wear it just before going to bed. The chamomile feels relaxing and destressing. As many perfume oils from Al-Rehab this one also has a great sillage (don't wear too much) and lasts super long on the skin.

Its allright smells like sharp flowery soap

My dad and I came across a tester in a store and when I sprayed it, it was amazing. The smell lasted a while and we both liked it, but he started to hate it about two hours in. We already bought a bottle so I thought I'd spray it to double check. But then it smelt terrible. He thought it was like mothballs but I disagreed because I like the smell of mothballs. We felt very nauseated and decided to keep the bottle for the bathroom. That idea fell apart on the first spray so we passed it off to an annoying neighbour as a parting gift. Don't know why the tester in the store smelt so good. It must have been exposed to light and after a while changed into something far from what it used to be. I just know that there are some notes in this that we love. Unfortunately, they've been paired with ones that we don't. If any of you care whether you buy men's or women's, this gives off a feminine vibe. We bought this regardless of that because at the time it was too good not to.

Aroosah has the opposite problem of most perfumes where I like the initial spray- kind of like a flowery soap- but the dry down gets a little nauseating quickly. If you're into VERY floral scents, this is for you. I think I personally wanted something more.... Herby from the chamomile. And Aroosah is SO strong that I have a hard time even trying to cut it by layering it with another perfume. It's so overpowering!! Overall, I'm sure it's great for someone but I will probably give the bottle away to first person who smells it on me and enjoys it.

At first, it smells like piss and WC cleaning products. Not pleasant at all. But after a while it becomes more herbal. An unusual fragance, I don ́t really like it but after it dries down it becomes more wearable. I mix it with Monogotas Vainilla to sweeten it and it ́s not an unpleasant mix. Won ́t repurchase, it reminds me too much of the smell of hospitals and medicines, too astringent and too camphory for my taste.

Reminds me of the inside of the men's room at a rest area on the New Jersey Turnpike. Smells exactly like a urinal cake. Yuk.

This is not sold as intended for men and women, the name Aroosa means bride! If men choose to wear it anyway, so be it.
