Choco Musk

First, can we get this scent accurately named on here? This is Choco Musk Pistachio, the bottle says it on the profile photo. If anyone is trying to find it, it’s not easy. Now to the scent. This is describing the rollerball oil. I am not sure about the accuracy of the notes listed here. When you first put it on, or smell in the bottle, there’s a sharp almost citrus-y note like lime? Not sure what that is. I get zero chocolate, and it doesn’t smell nutty at all to me. I realized it is reminiscent of BBW Sensual Amber when first applied. I still have a bottle from many years ago and there are strong similarities. That changes quickly on the skin. Overall I enjoy it, it’s a sophisticated and intimate scent. But the notes definitely seem off. Edited to add: After a few months, this perfume has turned into a favorite. The nutty notes finally arrived and it’s truly gorgeous. The citrus note I mentioned appears to be bergamot, notes elsewhere are listed as follows: Top Notes: Bergamot, Toffee, Raspberry, Peach Middle Notes: Almond Base Notes: Vanilla

If there's anything I've learned from fragrantica reviews, it's to just skip the EDP from Al-Rehab and go straight to the fragrance oils. I'm *really* happy with the Choco Musk Pistachio fragrance oil. It is, first and foremost, sweet pistachio. It's a little salty, a tiny bit powdery, heavily sweet pistachio fluff. The cacao is light and mildly reminiscent of cocoa butter, which combined with the vanilla accord gives white chocolate. I don't really smell the floral notes people are getting and it hasn't turned soapy on me yet [which I'm SO excited for, because I absolutely love soapy fragrances], but the pistachio dry-down is starting to morph into ice cream. Yeah it's a little synthetic, but that's what you're going to get with pistachio scents. Projection on Al-Rehab scents is just insane. With the oil I just need a few little dabs and I'm projecting like a beast all day. Very sweet, very gourmand, not really a safe blind buy. EDIT: I found the soap/bubble bath in it and it's AMAZING.

Love this fragrance. There is the initial alcoholic smell when sprayed that is common with these perfumes. However, once it settles you get spices and a green nutty smell under them. When it dries down it smells sweet, creamy and nutty but not too sweet to the point where its cloying so it could be worn in the spring time. It almost smells like a pistachio cookie dipped in milk as the original choco musk has that bakery feel to it. I think its sweeter and smoother than other pistachio perfumes as a lot them have a harsh green opening.

i’m not claiming it smells like xerjoff lira but pistachio sits and projects on my skin in a remarkably similar way. i even get hints of blood orange and marshmallow floating through the blend. yes my review of this used to be longer but i went on birth control and i kinda can’t stand it now haha but it still does sit on my skin similarly. just that i currently can’t stand smelling this on myself

I love pistachio, wondering why the site doesn’t list it as psitachio when it has a clear cut pistachio note from the start. It’s crisp but somehow sweet? Definitely a unique fragrance, it smells well blended together like an organized spread sheet. The cocoa scent blends with the crisp but milky scent of pistachio

Smells so much like khair pistachio to me. Same strong initial spray, dry down smells like creamy and nutty pistachio. I wore a spray on top of nebras and I thought it was quite pleasant!

i urge to macerate because this WILL smell disgusting unless you like strong to the point of making your nose sting spice smells because this is how it smells like if you dont let it macerate when you do, then it doesnt actually smell much like pistachio but more like an ambery vanilla and i can say this is a feminine-leaning unisex because unlike the other perfumes in the choco musk line, this one doesnt have a chocolate note to me like said, i think i can even smell some sort of soap/greeny leaf in this too?? id recommend layering this as its really cheap but also doesnt have great projection

I smell vanilla and amber and the pistachio, I don't get any of the chocolate notes, but I don't mind. Personally, I don't think it's an exact dupe to the Kayali, Yum Pistachio but they are within the same realm. It can stand alone, but layering it with Kayali, Vanilla 28 takes it to a different level. It amps up the sweetness and the vanilla there is a small kiss of white florals (but that's from the Kayali) overall it gives a well-rounded clean gourmand sent. I'm pretty happy about this purchase especially for the price.

Pistachio takes the same cozy DNA and gives it a nutty, creamy twist. It opens with a soft, slightly roasted pistachio note that feels smooth rather than sharp, almost like pistachio gelato melting into warm skin. As it settles, a gentle sweetness comes forward—vanilla, a touch of almond, and a whisper of amber that keeps it grounded. It’s playful but still wearable for everyday use, especially in spring or early fall. The scent feels like a pastel sweater: soft, comforting, and subtly delicious without trying too hard.

I had eos pistachio lotion on my right hand and compared it to this perfume that I sprayed on my left hand and they will pair great when the heavy spicy (I would not attribute it to amber) almost minty note levels off from maceration. Right now it's very screechy, but the dry down is a pistachio vanilla that I really like. I will update my review after maceration.

Pistachio ice cream in a bottle, although it's feminine, I like it.

I love the OG Choco Musk so I wanted to try the new flankers. This pistachio version smells a lot like Affection from Lattafa or Khair Pistachio from Paris Corner. I kinda figured it would be similar, since a lot of the pistachio fragrances started popping off after the Kayali perfume dropped. It's got that distinctive pistachio scent, slightly salty and airy, mixed with the sweet chocolate vanilla. It's got an addictive quality. I think this is interchangeable with Affection or Khair Pistachio. They all smell about the same to me. It's strong and long lasting for me. I would probably just buy Affection though, for the bigger bottle, if I wanted this scent profile again. Edit: Changed my mind on this one. The dry down began to smell like Badee al Oud Honor and Glory which I wasn't a huge fan of. It gets this pineapple and boozy smell to it after a while and that's what I'm getting probably about five minutes into this new Choco Musk scent. Not a fan. I would definitely just get Affection from Lattafa.

i love pistachio scents but this leans very masculine. it smells kind of like kayali yum pistachio gelato, paris corner khair pistachio type vibe except it has something very weird and sharp at the base. i’m not familiar with a lot of more masculine notes but it has like a sharp and almost sour note that you might smell if you needed to borrow your boyfriend’s old spice deodorant (lmao). i’ve seen some reviews that these notes i’m describing eventually die down once the bottle macerates for a bit so i’ll give that a try!

(This is a review on the oil version) Initially it smelt intensely soapy, and leaned very masculine. When it sits for around 5-10 minutes, it smells like a stronger version of the original choco musk oil but a tiny bit more musky. I personally don’t get any pistachio from this. Overall isn't really bad or really good, I like the dry down better than the og choco musk but it’s still quite mediocre.

I can see the potential, I need it to macerate for quite a while longer I think. I can get whiffs of what it is supposed to be like under all the rubbing alcohol. Smells fresh, not nutty. Will check back in a few months

I expected it to be lactonic, sweet and basically pistachio almond ice cream in a bottle - but it’s a generic masculine fragrance and to me, I just can’t understand it. Does it have the wrong label on it?

Not sure if I got a bad one but there is a little bit of the chemical smell on this. Its not as bad as the marshmallow but its still there.

Whilst not as offensive to my nostrils as Pistachio Gelato (a contender for my least favourite fragrance of all time), it still has the same Playdoh-y plastic smell that I can't get past in most pistachio based fragrances. The search for a pistachio perfume that I actually like continues. 3/10

**This review is for the OIL, not the EDP.** Choco Musk Pistachio (currently shown here in Fragrantica's photo) smells virtually identical to Sand + Fog's Pistachio Dream which is a dupe for Kayali's Yum Pistachio Gelato. This is way stronger though and even cheaper if you're looking for better projection on a budget! Upon application, CMP smells bright and green like damp foliage, but the creamy nutty vanilla notes come out more upon drying down. It's still a little too green/fresh overall to be considered a true gourmand IMO. I do not find the recently released marshmallow version of this fragrance oil to be as good as this one. It starts out amazing but dries down to a very artificial and strong vanilla. :(
