Clever Man

Nose Note #357 Definately Lacoste L.12.12 White inspired. The OG is not sweet at all, whereas this one is candy sweet, at least when you compare the two side by side. Without direct examination Clever Man didn't seem so sweet, but it instantly reminded me of the OG. Lacoste a little bitter, more aquatic and more "vegetable green" to me. Honestly, I prefer Clever Man tenfold to Lacoste. Clever Man becomes closer to OG minute by minute after the initial spray. The sweetness dials down. But the OG, damn it, has this really off-putting note to me. It has this undertone of a overripe cucumber that's going rancid. I used to like Lacsote much more - especially when it came out. It felt creamy to me, but now this creaminess turned into this exact cucumber note. Clever Man delivers everything Lacoste failed to. The scent is better. It's a much better performer too! I think Al Rehab is the best house in the world in value for money terms - I'm dead serious. 8.5/10

Not a bad blend here for such an affordable fragrance! I've never actually smelled Lacoste L.12.12 White before, so I haven't got a frame of reference for how close they are but man, I really do like the scent profile here and it's so smooth and not notable screechy or synthetic smelling either. Sweet florals, musky citrus and a little spice. Smells wonderful! I own a couple of other fragrances which have a similar fresh, floral scent profile and if anything this fragrances actually reminds me of Missoni Wave, just with the aquatic sharpness toned down and a little more sweetness. I've had my eye on Al Rehab perfumes for some time and heard of their reputation for creating knock-out, bang-for-your-buck perfumes which stick close to the originals - and I have to say, I'm glad I finally got to try Clever Man. Very impressed! Decent performance for the price as you're getting a 50ml eau de parfum (albeit on the weaker end) for like £15. The bottle itself is quite unique with this indented curved bottle and resin/acrylic cap. Side note: when I got mine the cap was a little sticky lol, so I'm not sure if that was a curing process fault? Gave it a wipe with alcohol though and it's fine now.

This is an adventurous fragrance and I am impressed. The top notes are citrusy and a bit spicy, reminds me of Lacoste L.12.12. and the middle notes and dry down smells like Bleu De Chanel and on clothes it smells like Blue De Chanel mixed with Dior Sauvage. I got the 6ml perfume oil version for around 2 dollars.

Impressive and daring scent. Mandarin Orange, Galbanum, Pomelo, Lime, Nutmeg, Bergamot, Rosemary, and Pepper are the top notes; Cyclamen, Jasmine, Sage, Freesia, and Marigold are the middle notes; and Amber, Cedar, Patchouli, Musk, and Labdanum are the base notes. It lasts for more than 6 hours and has a powerful projection. It's great!
