Mokhalat Dubai

Yardley Roses soap circa 1980s.I am in love. The gods of random perfume buys have been kind. Edit: This thing has amazing longevity. I could still smell it this morning after a full night's sleep and a shower. It seems to wear quite differently on different people. On me it starts as a huge blast of cedar and patchouli and rapidly transforms to this huge, spicy and soapy rose delight. On my husband it opens with cedar and them shuffles along as a more subtle cedar and rose thing. Lovely but much quieter and woody on him. On me, it could clear a room of perfume haters; on him it is unobtrusive but persistent. This is what I love about the oils. It's always interesting.

This is a true spicy powerhouse. From the opening notes to the dry down, it is very nice. It is almost linear for the first two hours and then the blend o wood and spice is incredible. A little goes a long way and stays on my skin from shower to shower (24 hours). Some days I put a dot of Mokhalat Dubai on one wrist and a dot of Al Rehab Superman (I only buy the oils) on the other. A very mystifying blend! Fragrance 4.5 out of 5. Sillage 5 out of 5 (maybe even a 6...) Longevity 5 out of 5

Extremely strong and longlasting scent this one. Do not give up when you first put the roller on your skin... roll a little and rub it in well. It is about time for me to learn more about oud as I seem to like oud based fragrances and I am curious to know what aspects of a fragrance are the type of oud used and what are other notes mixed in. So Mokhalat Dubai comes across as a medicinal bitter herbal woody scent, slightly smoky and mysterious. I keep thinking it reminds me of some kind of wooden or herbal scent they had in Thailand in those massage places (I mean foot massage nothing naughty LOL). Brace yourself for a pungent opening... The fragrance gets warmer and softer after a couple of hours. I can see this working very well in a warm and dry climate because it is not sweet, rather "bitter and cooling". After a few hours and wearing a warm jumper while walking outside I noticed that the scent became warmer too on my skin. If you are after a more feminine or sweeter scent in the same direction you may want to try al Rehab Bakhoor Al bahrain which shares the smokey oud but combines it with a fruity accord. PS a couple of days later the scent still lingers on my jacket - now it reminds me of a dry forest, full of coniferous woods, pines, pine cones etc. Actually while walking in the park I came past some oak trees that were shedding their last leaves... there were gazillions of oak leaves and a very woody smell in the air. I thought of this fragrance again. It really has an amazing woody drydown that's worth waiting for. Mokhalat Dubai also combines well with Al Rehab Sultan.

This dark treacle-like elixir is potent. I was fully aware that this would be strong, so I put a small amount on my hand, liked it, so put more around my neck, then threw caution to the wind and applied it like crazy all over - and that wasn’t a disaster. I went out for a walk for an hour and came back to the most amazing smell in my house rather than on me. It starts with a strong citronella note (I wasn’t expecting so much citrus from such a dark brown beast). But there’s also a green camphorous smell throughout which intertwines around a bunch of spicy roses. It is a rose scent first and foremost which I welcomed. The distant dry-down leaves a honey-musk behind. It’s wonderful but still somehow just misses the mark. Often these Arabian budget curiosities manifest an odd skank which you just can’t put your finger on, but it never quit sits well with you. In this it’s the camphor note which is prickly, woody, herbal and spicy and is a little mothball-like which ruins this slightly. I really enjoyed this though. I get: camphor, rose, citronella, musk, spices.

Wood! Strong, strong wood!! In addition, there's a touch of rose and a good dose of green notes and cool spice. The spices here are not of the sweet and cuddly variety. Some would consider this to be quite a powerful masculine, and I can't imagine that I'll be wearing massive amounts anywhere near perfume resistant friends! Still, I LIKE IT. And there are several reasons why.... 1. Cedar. It's fresh and reassuring simultaneously. This is not all cedar, but there's definately a hint in the woody blast! 2. There is something about this moldy, mossy (?) base that captures the aura of Clinique Aromatics Elixer. Not the exact scent - mind you - but it's aura. Nice. 3. Mokhalat Dubai seems to me more versatile than one might think. I plan to layer it gently with fragrances that could use a bit of wood in their life!

Very much a rose powerhouse. I get the scent of woods at the dry down though. I will have to get back on this one. The rose seems far to strong. I gave this a chance and glad I did. I still smell the rose at the opening. After 1 hour it changes and the rose vanish a bit to the background. Then to my surprise a spicy woody smell came and very pleasant. It's actually a very powerful frag and need some time to settle 1-2 hours. I'm not that much into rose but I not at all bad. The woods I'm quite fund of. It has a very powerful sillage and longtivity. I could smell it on my jacket the next day, though I only used a couple of drops.

Sillage is indeed enormous, much stronger than you'd think, so careful. Little goes a long way, and these oils stay on you even under humid Florida summers. couple dots behind the ears, wrist, behind the knees, and that's it. This is an odd spicy Rose powerhouse. The first note is a strong Saffron, which is savory, and may come off as "wierd". The rose in this is strong, clear and loud, very rich and waxy, very nice high quality Rose in this one the whole way down, with subtle waves of Honey that appear, almost like a candied Rose petal jam. Mum doesn't like it, it comes off spicy and almost salty on some people.

I can't usually wear oud, guaiac, or musty rose of this type. However, perhaps the cedar saved it. Makhalat Dubai is the one 'atypical' Arabian oil I can wear. It is rich, dry and spicy. The blend is strong; a perfect combination of all things amazing. Men who like ouds might especially like this. Excellent layered with other oils, such as Musk al Medinah.

This fragrance oil is extremely strong price is like £3 from ebay projects like a absolute monster and will last you to your next life if there is one...lol just pure woods and incense But if you apply very little i mean just a touch it actually smells like a very very expensive niche perfume... its actually very very similar 98% to musk oud by killian.

Anyone with a nose can just smell rose. Rose rose rose. A heavy rose very similar to the somali rose oils sold inexpensively in malls

the strongest fragrance ever, apply very little then it's nice very nice.

I previously wrote a negative review about Mokhalat Dubai, but I gave it a second chance, and I'm glad I did. I was expecting the wrong notes when I first tried it, but now I can appreciate it. Mokhalat Dubai opens with a blast of rose, and dries down to a mix of rose, woods, and incense, with just a hint of musk. The rose note isn't a synthetic bathroom spray type, nor is it the disgustingly sweet type that you'd expect a teenage girl to wear. The rose note is soft, dark, wet, and really provides the heart of this fragrance. Mokhalat Dubai projects powerfully when applied to the neck, and will last for a few days on clothing. When I recieved my vial early this month, I discovered that it had leaked in its box, so some oil got on my hands when I opened it. I wiped my hands on the passenger seat of my car, and until I sprayed deodorizer on the seats today, I would occasionally catch faint whiffs of Mokhalat Dubai drifting over. This scent is truly unisex; dark and intriguing on whoever wears it, without being too sweet. Additionally, a roll-on vial only cost me $6.50! Considering that only two dabs (not rolls) of this fragrance are necessary for an application, a vial will last a very long time.

OUD ALERT. STAY AWAY IF YOU AREN'T INTO OUD.

OOB, this is a doozy! Bulgarian rose, neroli, sweet violet leaf, saffron, labdanum, medicinal oud, cade, and a mahoosive blast of ambergris! I am surprised that nobody else has mentioned the ambergris note, as it is quite prominent. This dried down to mostly neroli and ambergris, on my skin. I was hoping that the resin, oud, and rose would stick around. To me, this is a spicier, drier, more unisex sibling of "Shaikhah" - which is also Ambroxan heavy. If you enjoy the soapy, salty, skin scent drydown of Mokhalat Dubai, you will also enjoy Shaikhah. EDIT: It has just dawned on me, what this attar reminds me of - the skhab paste beads, used in traditional North African tribal jewellery.

This should come with a warning, like a mini sign on it. This one's off The HOOK!! A rose bomb. Love it! Unisex but rough, if it's you and this in a dead end street, it would mug you! So potent, fills a building if you roll it on your wrist. Smells of a dark night, no moonlight, no stars, in a forest, you're walking barefoot stepping on damp rose that have been marinating in water and wood for a while. A forest beast I'd say.

I found this too woody and rather sharp at the beginning but I always put too much. Cedar is very powerful and blending with the spices it creates a monstrous longevity. The green note blends nicely and adds freshness, I do not detect any rose, this comes at a later stage, but the wood is ever present. More on the masculine side, as mentioned a little goes a very long way.

I have only sniffed this out of the bottle and not on my skin so far because I don't know if I have the courage to actually put this on my skin. Something in this hit me right in the back of the throat(Cumin?)in a very sharp and off-putting way. I will update my review when I get the nerve to ride this out through the dry down. Needless to say this is a powerful scent!

Dark, chewy, woody. Masculine floral. Deep rose with tones of wood, spices, and incense. One of the least Euro-styled Al Rehabs. Could be elegant if used sparingly, but is not complex or rich; shows it’s price point. This fragrance sparked a conversation between some passersby about people using fragrance to cover up the smell of smoking.

This dries down to something similar to Calligraphy Rose but leading up to the drydown, it's definitely not western-smelling. It smells like the usual red rose and oud combination but stronger. To me it smells like shoe polish. Sillage is heavy.
