Noria

Very exotic, agreed. Noria is one I've waited to see added to the database and now rejoice in sharing! Thanks again to our wonderful staff here at Fragrantica. :D First off: Nothing I've ever smelled is quite like Noria. She's not like popular celeb scents or even designer releases. Noria is quite unique enough to puzzle your average perfume consumer and elate your bored one (me!). If you like Niche or Arabian beauties with a feminine leaning, read on. At first I wasn't sure... What IS this bitter note? Ahh, but Noria is so interesting that I kept on testing and trying her over the space of several months. The bitter note is ALMOND - as in almond extract! To me it's the most predominant at first swipe. That said, there are whiffs of something creamy (coconut!) and woody alongside more dominant and utterly charming, sweet jasmine. The whole thing is like a tribute to almond extract, backed by jasmine and creamy-powdery hints of coconut. Yes, rose, oud, and amber are here too, but I mostly smell tangy/bitter almond, fluffy white goodness, and sweet jasmine. She's DIVINE. Update: She has an (almost!) twin sister in Swiss Arabian Noora. They are very similar. :D

Reviewers comparing Noria to classic Jergen's Lotion (the one that smells like cherry almond!)have a point. But whereas the Jergen's is CHERRY almond, and familiar, Noria is EXOTIC, feminine almond.... without the cherry. Long story short: If you already love almond extract with attitude, GO for it!

This is such a weird scent but I LOVE it. Sometimes it smells very floral, sometimes its a spiced coconut, sometimes I get something that smells like honeyed rose, sometimes it's like a clean and sweet white floral. At all times it is beautiful, fun, and sophisticated. What a morpher.

I have the oil concentrated perfume. The almonds in here are very similar to the ones on Pi by Givenchy. I get sweet almonds, baby powder and jasmine with a hint of oud. The coconut and citruses are undetectable. It's good for layering.

i love almond scents, so was interested in trying this one. the florals aren't really obvious to me but i think i get mostly rose and a huge dose of musk. so primarily almond, musk and maybe a tiny hint of coconut. it's very powdery, which i personally love. i had purchased this in the summer and it seemed really cloying. i am finally trying it in february and i think it definitely works in colder weather. i do not get any oud or jasmine that i can detect.

At first spray and for at least a half hour this is REALLY medicinal, kinda like the anteseptic BACTINE (in US not sure of other countries).The almonds are a bit bitter. But If you can get through the first half hour is when it really starts to shine. The sweetness from the coconut rise and ambery musk are there. Good projection great longevity 9+ hrs. This isn't for EVERYONE. Not a safe gifting or blind buy option.

Coconut cake made with a dose of almond extract. Definitely coconut in the food sense, not the suntan lotion or even tropical sense. The amber deepens the scent, but I find this to be very simple smelling. It makes me think of a less peppery, less complex Sensuous Nude. Good for layering, but I don't really see the point in wearing this on its own. Would be a good perfume to give to a little girl.

I wish I got the almond and coconuts that everyone else seems to get. For me it starts off as a sweet almost old school floral, but quickly turns into what I can only describe as an aquatic rose scent. It's not my favorite as it comes across as rather sharp, but I'll keep trying it in combination with other oils and in other seasons.

I'm not sure if it's me or if I received an "off" batch, but I primarily smell rose, oud and a bit of jasmine. I'm not getting any almond to speak of and definitely no coconut. For reference, I have the oil so maybe that's it? Regardless, not my favorite Al-Rehab by far.

To me this smells EXACTLY like old school Jergen's lotion. Powdery and almond scented. I don't smell the coconut on my skin. It's not my favorite from this house but I do like it and will incorporate it into my rotation.

Awful. Utterly foul. The epitome of stinky old lady perfume. It's sour rose and powder. There is no almond or coconut to be found, no amber, not even sandalwood. It's like a rose was dipped in sauerkraut and then wrapped in a pair of dirty socks. I blind bought the perfume for $15, figuring how bad could it be? Jokes on me. Perhaps the oil is better or maybe this bottle sat in a sweltering garbage bin for a month. I always try to find something redeemable when reviewing, even if the scent is not for me. But this...this is an assault on the senses. It got on my lips just from a quick spray. The taste is no better LOL.

Smells like jasmine and rose scented furniture polish, in a good way. Oddball combination of almond and rose, two scents that are not usually put together. Now I know why. Either I really like this or it is awful, I can't decide. But it smells unlike anything else I have ever smelled, definitely not like a perfume. Update March 2021 - my husband likes this on me (so that raises my opinion) and it has grown into one of my favorites. Can't believe it is so inexpensive.

this feels like a consistent combination of all the notes besides citrus (i dont get any of it) much more on the dry side and i wouldnt classify it as outright fruity . didnt know this was so hard to get, the market next to me sells it and they had a bunch . lucky me! this is very ceremonial to me, i can only wear it a few times in the year especially since its not being produced anymore . this is the most gorgeous of al rehab

@pixiedust2 pls educate yourself...it’s not cool to refer to fragrances as “old lady”. Try: vintage, classic, or just not my cup of tea? You too shall age....perfume is art..it’s an art form and there are always changes and new formulations, but old lady? Isn’t a genre I’m aware of...

I love almond but this one's not available over here. I'll keep checking every now and then, but I'm not busting for it, I've got plenty in my collection right now

Shame on you pixiedust2 for your "stinky old lady" description!!!! Your words belie your cutesy name . . . perhaps choose something closer to your true nature?
