Oud Al Rehab

Pure barnyard skanky slightly bleu cheesey oud with some woody, uric muskiness and the quietest, daintiest of rose petals layered atop (unlisted, but I swear when I dig past the oud petroleum pit I detect it, however mild). Reminiscent of many other such fragrances in the arabian synthetic oud dominant category but with a much more luxe presentation and slightly better quality. The bottle is wonderful and looks like some kind of ancient alien artifact or something, very heavy with what feels like real metal and with a heavy metal cap as well. The musky piss facet is echoed in the urinously ochre gemstones glued around the bottle. Performance is almost unsettlingly tenacious and powerful, Really nothing not to like here if you fancy yourself a synthetic oud fan.

My fragrance collection is fairly extensive (ridiculous) these days, but in amongst all that expense, this $15 piece of amazingness holds a seriously significant place. OH what a beauty! Don’t expect compliments if you’re a westerner. Expect to be run out of town with just a spray or two! But if you don’t care what people think, douse yourself in 20 sprays and get on with your best life like you just couldn’t care less!

It is a SENSATIONAL perfume for layering, because the oud has incredible depth. It has the ability to turn other perfumes into masterpieces (well, at least SOME, there's the trick...). For instance, that's what I noticed experiencing with Diane (Diane von Furstenberg), which has accords I like very much, but which I could not wear often, being too simple and shrill for an evening perfume... Well, in this combination, I found it A LOT better than some grand perfume names I sampled in a store that day. A stroke of luck, perhaps, which gave me an insight into the real magic of perfume...

Yikes! The oud is strong in this one, and it is so pronounced it almost has a medicinal quality to it. Only purchase this one if you're really looking for a oud explosion. Not very versatile in my opinion.

This is a really strange one. I think it's either super weak, or so damn strong that it totally kills my nose. I remember when I first bought it, I sprayed 2 or 3 sprays and I couldn't smell it after about 10 minutes. But everyone in the room was complaining that thee was a strong smell of petrol. I think we figured out it was me, but I honestly couldn't smell it. On a few occasions, I've sprayed this on a card, and left it be on the table. I return after a couple hours and don't smell much off the card. Either way, what's it smell like? Hardcore petrol style oud. There nothing nice or pleasant about it. I don't find it skanky or barnyard. Just petrol. Like a mechanic shop. Honestly no idea about performance. It will remain a mystery. Also I can't decide if the bottle is cool or tacky as hell. If you can find it cheap, try it!
