Sondos

Review is for the 6ml perfume oil. Why has nobody mentioned the rose, muguet, geranium, Ambroxan (synthetic ambergris), or saffron, in this blend? I do smell all of the previously mentioned elements, as well. On my skin, it is the beautiful damask/white tea rose note, which projects the most. The rose absolutely soars, on top of the white floral, geranium, saffron, and oud. I think what people are smelling as citrus, is actually a very fruity Omani frankincense note. It has that perfumy, aldehydic tingle, unlike a citrus. The Ambroxan sweetens and warms up the dry florals and woods, just enough. This fragrance is extremely similar to Mokhalat Dubai, but gentler, and sans the strong neroli and red kasturi notes. If you love a strong, classic, semi-dry rose, you need this sleeping beauty in your collection.

I have to write a review on this one! I paid £2.50 for a 30ml bottle. This review is about the spray btw. I think it is the best value for money perfume I ever had. Such a beautiful fragrance, it is similar to some Arabian Oud fragrances I have and that are way more expensive. This is all about flowers and oud. It reminds me of a walk through the zouk in Dubai! It just bring me back very beautiful and happy memories. It is very arab, not old lady at all. I am just in love with this one and the best of it, I don't have to feel guilty when re-applying because the price is just ridiculous to be honest. I will buy a few back up bottles. Lasting power is amazing, about 7 hours! I didn't receive any compliments yet but I am working from home and in lockdown so I can't complain about that aspect :)

As has been mentioned in previous reviews, Sondos is reminiscent of Saat Safa, one of Al Rehab's best offerings and one which I love and use frequently, and also somewhat of Paloma Picasso - both great chypres. Sondos is, however, its own lovely concoction with much to recommend it. The slight tartness of the lemongrass mingling with the rose and jasmine supported by resinous oud and sandalwood combine to make a strict, yet luxurious and opulent fragrance. Not safe by any means, this is for wearing both on an everyday basis as well as dinner out with friends. It is a grown up scent for those with a will of their own, not content with following the herd but forging their own path. Sillage and longevity - above average. Price - absolutely ridiculously inexpensive. Overall - highly recommended.

Sondos (roll-on oil) smells like gender-neutral, mature, creamy but somehow a little pungent, bold, somewhat sweet, Middle-Eastern SOAP that seems to have notes of sandalwood, oud, and a touch of florals. It is quite potent, long-lasting, and linear. Sometimes linear is good, if you want the predictability and reliability that allows. That is a characteristic of Al Rehab oils. They are not particularly complex and they smell pretty similar from start to end (which happens to be all day if you apply it in the morning). The real challenge is how to apply the oil: where and in what quantity. If you get that right, appreciate this scent profile, and wear the fragrance in cold weather, this can be a rich and satisfying perfume.

Sparkly, soapy aldehydes, fresh white florals, and green rose blooms. It has a light fruity quality. Fresh, green, dewy, tart, almost like walking through a garden in the spring. The base is woody; sandalwood, cedarwood, and a resinous oud note. A sort of middle eastern spin on a green floral chypre. This is a softer and more purely floral alternative to Saat Safa. They smell rather similar. I'm impressed with it, and it smells a lot better than designer florals. I have no clue what all is in it, but the juice is a rich amber color.

I’ve been wearing Sondos for a few weeks and I like its classic aldehyde style sparkle. There is a slight difference between the oil and the spray - the spray has a dryer, ambery feel that’s more like a cross between ‘Youth Dew’ and ‘Paloma Picasso’. The oil is a richer nectar, but is more like the Arabian take on ‘Aromatics’. It lasts all day, but doesn’t seem to project, as not one person has commented on the interesting scent that envelopes me. ‘Sondos’ is a delightfully modernised rendition of ‘Paloma Picasso’ meets ‘Aromatics’.

Similar to Saat Safa but not as strong. Not as pungent. I smell rose and oud but I don’t see these in the notes. Very nice.

If you can resist the torture of pure iodine on your skin (damn, oud!) for about 15-20 minutes, this is a cute vintage-y perfume, roses and aldehides. I don’t know why rose isn’t listed, or what chemical combo gives me the impression of roses, but I can smell roses, no doubt. At the beginning it was some lemongrass there, now it’s gone, but there’s no jasmine, not even a petal. There is a very vague and faint similarity to Aromatics Elixir indeed.

this opens with lemongrass and woods/oud. it does kind of smell soapy as others have mentioned. i have saat safa and didn't try them next to each other, but i think they are alike if memory serves, though saat safa is heavier and i prefer it. this one is nice but a little bit too soapy for me personally.

Whooooof!! That is intensely strong. Jasmine, stringent, woody, resinous. My nan would have loved something like this. Not for more me.

I am obsessed with perfumes that's last long, and this is one of the longest lasting perfumes I have ever tried. Though I am using the roll on oil, it's very strong and soap. I am a teacher at a secondary school and I was looking for students whom were skipping class they said they could smell me coming ( big two-storey building ) this perfume is not for young ones, and not for the everyday boring main stream woman or men, it's for the unique creatures xx

So "Sondos" is a weird one! I am slowly working my way through the Al Rehab fragrances. They are incredibly well priced, and some are really gorgeous, but this one I am not so sure about. It starts with something very strong, chemical and not so pleasant. Something like a cleaning product or similar. Once settled however, it improves a lot, becomes very floral, with a definite Jasmine hit, on a woody bed. In the drydown though, it turns more granny powder, with a hint of "perfume sat in the heat too long". Overall, it's long lasting with a big sillage. It's pleasant in the middle, but less so at the beginning and end. I will keep trying it, but at the moment, it's not a favourite.
