White Musk

I just got this rollerball in the mail yesterday so I almost feel like it's too soon for me to be reviewing it, but I can't help it; I'm excited. My previous experience with Al-Rehab oils have been in the gourmand camp: Soft, Choco Musk, Golden Sand, and the like. I ventured into the non-gourmand area with this one and Mira. Smelling the bottle before applying it to skin, I was immediately impressed with the freshness of the scent. It almost gave me a fabric softener sensation. But once I applied it to my skin (and I ended applying quite a bit because the rollerball was sticking and I kept fiddling with it and wiping the excess on my arm) that's when it really started working its magic. I know how Al-Rehab oils tend to bloom, particularly with Soft and Golden Sand, but with White Musk, it just kept doing this lovely dance with my skin where it was like I wasn't wearing a fragrance at all. I just smelled good in increasingly interesting ways. I actually own Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume Superdose, but I never really understood the idea of "your skin but better" until this. I know that this will only perform better with time, so I'm so excited to experience it a few weeks from now after it's had time to get stronger. This is the first white musk I've over owned so I can't compare with any other white musk. I just know this has made my foray into Al-Rehab's fresh, clean scents feel like a success.

White musk is so deep and softly warm. Deep like falling into lots of pillows. There's more going on here than notes suggest. I find myself reaching for this more than all my others lately. I love it! I associate this with relaxation, comfort, and bedtime. I smell lemon, at least, also maybe some galbanum or green note? But it's not loud. This has a really nice lemony scent that is comforting and round, if that makes sense. * I am updating to note that I'm also detecting some very soft flowers and spice like maybe nutmeg this time. One time I thought I smelled incense after a couple hours. Wonderful! A clean sun-dried laundry fragrance. It lasts a long time and loses the citrus over time; very nice on its own or for layering. Strange experience: I layered this under Violet Eyes, a peachy peony with amber and cedar base, and all day I felt I was being followed around by an incense stick! I kept wondering who smells like incense? It was me. Violet eyes and white musk equals incense? Anyway, it's fun to layer this and see what emerges!

Hands down the most comforting scent in my collection. Feels cozy so I use it for bedtime. I fell in love with White Musk Libertine from the Body Shop years ago and this has that same clean musk! Maybe I’m usually sleeping through the mid-dry down development of this fragrance, but the first 10-15 minutes is what I mainly use it for and it is DREAMY. Like a big white fluffy cloud you climb into and it floats you off to sleep. Very friendly and clean. Now this just sits in my nightstand as my sleep perfume, but in the early days of having this I experimented and YES to the folks who sensed some deeper incense vibes! There are secrets in this one! Try using this as a layering base for other fragrances and see the wild, beautiful creations that emerge. It has turned some of my more innocent perfumes into sultry incense bombs!! It’s available for a few dollars and is one of the most versatile staples in my scent wardrobe! 😎

THIS IS MY FAVORITE WHITE MUSK EVER - I buy this in the 6 pack because I use it so frequently. I have been trying different musks from high end to inexpensive and this is my very favorite. I wear Al Rehab White Musk with another oil, a dupe oil from Hayward Enterprises called Champagne. Wow - you would not believe how many compliments I get with these 2 together. Amazing. If I have a perfume that does not have much lasting power, I will pair it with this. Update: I'm shocked at the number of compliments that I get with this perfume oil. I cannot even smell it myself but it's a winner for me. The last time I bought a 6 pack of this, it was under $11 plus about $5 for shipping. That makes each bottle about $2.67. I hate to love it too much because I will jinx it and they will stop making it (like Empress from Nabeel) !!

For the oil; slightly sharp, sweet clean & fresh musk, it's so deliciousss and sexy af 😜 On skin it melts into a your skin-but-better scent that sorrounds you and evolves with your chemistry. On me this scent bubble turns into what I can describe as "fluffy"; like sun dried fabrics with a sugary touch. It works wonders layered with many other perfumes, musky ones being an obvious choice but try it with gourmands! the sweetness it has combines well and makes them a bit crisper. Being an oil, if you apply before spraying will help your other fragrances have better longevity and projection. For me it has became a staple booster for other scents and I also love it by itself.

I have to say, this is one of the nicest skin-scents that I own! It is a very clean, "creamy" white musk, with delicate touches of other notes- I smell nutmeg and lemon peel, woods... it's like really nice laundry-detergent or fabric-softener- not overly-floral- more just yummy. I can't help but imagine billowing clouds of creamy cotton pillows! So nice for low-key days, any time, any season. Lasts for days... If you're looking to own just one white musk to suit your quiet moods, this is it. Hands down, my favorite white musk in my collection.

It's just basic, minimalistic scent of cleanliness, reminding of clean water, something in the lines of CK One and other 90ish fragrances, but fresher and softer (not similar to CK One, just the same "clean water" thing). Can be used anywhere, anytime, even at the office. For $7 it couldn't be better. The fact that it's a concentrated attar with no expiry date, that can be kept forever without turning into alcohol after 2-3 years makes it even better.

I’m addicted to this perfume. I just want to bathe in it and smell it all day and everywhere. It’s spicy and musky yet at the same time soft, comforting, warm. It smells like relaxation, comfort yet it’s sensual and sharp; like crispy white sheets slightly warm from the dryer and smelling like your favourite softener. I just can’t get enough, I just wish the sillage and lasting power would be longer but it’s dirt cheap so I can’t complain.

If you like the drydown of some Al-Rehab perfumes, such as Red Rose or Silver, that's what it is. White Musk makes me think of milk chocolate with delicate white flowers. I think there is a hint of vanilla in it. It is a great scent for a "no-perfume" day or to apply after a bath. It makes you feel clean and cosy. The scent is very light and close to skin. One of my favourite Al-Rehabs so far. The review is for the oil.

Soft and comforting, like an old friend that would welcome you back to their house with open arms. Its simplicity is its beauty, the base layer used to calm the storm to stronger perfumes. Used up the roller bottle within half a year, buying 3 more in the summer after the stress of exams had passed. Sits close, your skin warmed in sun soaked linen. On days I don't feel great or need a simple comfort, this bottle is it.

it's clear that everyone's body chemistry is unique but this one just shows how true that statement is. on me, this stays quite linear and clean. just a gorgeous and safe scent to wear all day. but on someone i share this bottle with, it makes an alluring dark-smokey(?) scent that suddenly turns this innocent fragrance into this sleek-sexy one. go experience it yourself!!

Very different to the current incarnation of Body Shop's White Musk. Al Rehab's take on white musk is fresher, less intense and much cleaner. There is also an additional note here, very slightly woody. Sandalwood, possibly, as HeidiLynn suggested. Dries down to a powdery delight. Often reach for this and a fluffy white towel after a late night shower.

I love this so much, it's the perfect "my skin but better" perfume. It's very light and a bit sweet, smells like you just came out of a bubble bath. Not cloying like other musks I've tried, hold up pretty well although it doesn't project much. It's amazing for layering with other perfumes as it blends in really seamlessly.

Beauty in simplicity. Im actually having fun experimenting this fragrance and Sultan Al Oud with other Al Rehab's oils. White Musk adds depth and gentleness to the fragrance it layered. You won't regret buying this one, i guarantee you, if you don't like its scent, just use it as layering.

Top Notes: Pear Middle Notes: Patchouli Base Notes: Vanilla, Moss, Musk Once again, notes are not accurate. This is a soft and intimate scent. Unobtrusive and unlikely to offend anyone. It reminds me a bit of the scents plastic dolls used to have, but a more grown-up sexy version.

What Al Rehab does best are the musky fragnances. And this one is no exception either. I prefer the Musk al Madinah over it, but this is a far less complex perfume - ideal for those who like simple and straightforward, light smells, while the Musk al Madinah is brute force.

This is most compliment getter ever. Every time I wore without fail someone will notice. I have Body Fantasies white musk before, also get same effect. This is must have perfume in my collection

Literally one of those clean girl perfume i only bought it to avoid shipping charges but i ended up really loving this one It's very mild and people will not get irritated by this for sure

It's clean, fresh and very subtle. Great buy for health care workers. Unfortunately there is no projection and doesnt last that much. The smell is absolutely well done

My favourite white musk; slightly soapy, fresh opening scent of sicilian lemon and cream soda. fades to a soft round classic white musk.

Smells musky and sharp from the bottle, and on my skin it turned into something fresh, powdery, and sweet. Very nice!

Very clean and sits beautifully on the skin. Doesn't smell musty or animalistic, just compliments your natural odour.

It smells like a mother. Not like the perfume of a mom but the emodiment of a mom like warm sweet milk

I think the first scent I smelled that was labeled white musk was the body fantasies mist. It scared me. It was so sharp and screeching that I donated it right away. With time and as I experienced more white musk versions like the body shop and Jovan white musks, this scent profile started to grow on me, I even rebought the body fantasies version to spray my sheets and towels. Now, not only do I tolerate white musk, I actually sometimes crave the laundry, soapy clean sharpness, to the extent that when I tried this white musk from Alrehab I wondered where the white musk was. This is too subtle and soft with no sharpness at all but it registers more as a Floral musk. It is still a clean musk but in a powdery creamy way rather than detergent soap, great for layering. It has no animalic undertones at all. The softness, weak sillage and good longevity, make me use it mainly for layering.

I love musk. I've been drawn to it since I was little, and as an adult, the majority of my favorite scents are musk-based. Admittedly, I prefer some of the so-called "dirty" musks, but I can (and do!) appreciate it in all forms. That said.... This is a really nice musk-- very clean-smelling, lightly floral, not animalic at all. Definitely not scary or skanky. It's a good daytime scent, and it lasts a long time on me-- I could still faintly smell it clinging to my skin when I got up the next morning. My husband could smell me faintly across the table after I'd just applied it, but not from across the room. I've used several other Al Rehab attars with mixed results, but I'd recommend this one to anyone looking for something light and sexy.

This is for the oil roller ball. It’s a very soft, pretty, clean musk. Although flowers aren’t listed in this, I get a definite floral note which I rather like. It’s definitely more of a skin scent – it doesn’t have the projection of Choco Musk, which I also have. I’m definitely going to have a play with this and try layering it with some of my other scents – Choco Musk of course, but Vanille, and Tonka, by Reminiscence also spring to mind. I could see this being quite delicious with, say, a chocolate (Matt Chocolat or Chocolate Greedy) or a warm amber scent. This is one you could put on after a shower at the end of the day, and want to smell something nice but nothing too “perfumey”. I like it a lot.

This is my first time really testing out “pure” white musks. This one smells like I took a really refreshing shower and now feel very put together and ready to face the day. On my skin it starts off smelling a little bit like children’s clear glue..? And then when it dries down it becomes a dream, the same way it smells on a test strip. Basic in the best way. Easy to wear and relaxing. Fresh, lovable, clean as any white musk would be but I like the nuances to this white musk more than some others.

This is the first Al Rehab I have purchased and the reason why I started collecting its sisters perfumes. It is the purest white musk I have ever smelled. The staying power is unbeatable while the sillage is soft, it stays very close to the skin. It is a very calming scent. I recommend it for both sexes for those days when you want to wear something just for yourself that stays with you for a long long time.

Person below doesn't know what this is. Yes it's faint, slightly sweet musky scent. It is good for laying with perfumes and other oils. If you use this by itself, you'd definitely be unique liking a very specific note in perfumery. This is used as a base to enhance the longevity and scent of some fragrances. So given how cheap it is, not going to hurt buying it.

Wow, this is beautiful! A very universal, clean everyday scent. This really reminds me of the drydown of Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez, I'm surprised it isn't listed in the similar fragrances. Unfortunately, it isn't very strong, or at least I can't feel it on myself. I hope I'm just blind to it and that others can smell it. This wouldn't offend anybody.

I've never tried white musk before, received this as an extra with my al-rehab order so.. great! I really like it, smells soft and clean. I always say that this reminds me of white clothes and people seem to agree with me lol. I like wearing this to bed, makes me feel calm and relax. This is very long lasting but with very poor sillage.

It's a gorgeous white musk but I don't think it smells anything like The Body Shop or Jovan White Musks at all. It kind of smells like lemonade to me in the opening but then dries down beautifully clean and soft. Pity I can't wear it as it gives me itchy rashes where I've applied it so up for swap/give away it goes.

Floral leaning type of musk, to me it's kind of syrupy sweet and powdery in a dry chalky way, somewhat similar to Body Fantasies Signature Fresh White Musk. It also smells almost a bit dated, it reminds me of a scent from my childhood. Very different to Jovan White Musks. Not my favorite white musk perfume so far.

Not bad at all. I paid $3.50 for a nice roll on bottle and imagine the price on the Jovan hard to find white musks on ebay. Really a smoking deal on a really long lasting oil. It's white musk what more can you say, they all seem to smell the same however this seems to have great staying power.

This a very good inoffensive comfort scent. I didn ́t expect it to be so sweet and powdery. It is much more on the "clean, cashmere" side of musk, it isn ́t animalic at all. A femmine composition with some delicate personality. Wear it with a nice sweater and cozy coat or in the office.

White musk is something different to every nose and on everyone's skin. This is a good one. One dimensional and just simply good. Jovan White Musk for Men has a better drydown, but I prefer the opening of the Al-Rehab. A purchase of White Musk is a safe good purchase.

There is absolutely nothing offensive about this clean, floral, musky scent. I've tried both the spray and oil and I prefer the perfume oil for longevity. Perfect for the spring. I love musk scents and this is one of my favourites.

I smelled it on 2015 and the nuance it gave at that time was so different than now. It used to smells a bit acid like shampooish. But now I'm wearing it I sense the musk with cottony feeling. I like it now.

This smells like fresh towels still warm from the dryer with a bit of sandalwood and powder. Soft, slightly sweet, and comforting. Not soapy.

It's just like....sweet. Doesn't project even 1cm, my nose needs to touch my skin to smell it so idk what the point is

White musk of any variety worn alone (such as the classic Jovan White Musk) is an occasional guilty pleasure for me. It brings back carefree, youthful days skipping school with friends to go sit at the local deli and pretend to be more adult than we were... Someone at the table was wearing Love's Baby Soft, someone else CK One, and another friend Dream from The Gap. It has an aquatic quality in the drydown that reminds me of something between the smell that hits you when someone cannonballs into the deep end during summers by the community swimming pool and wet streets after a hot afternoon rain. It's not sticky, sweet, flowery, or cloying, nor is it too much like baby powder. It's just... FRESH. The Al Rehab version is no different, and can be lovely to have as long as you know what you're buying. This is your basic white musk scent; completely linear; no surprises; and not particularly unique. For this reason it's a fantastic add to other fragrances that you want to tone down a bit. If you have a favorite floral, woody, or gourmand that you wear in beast mode and want to adapt it to a more casual occasion, try it on top of White Musk and see what you think. I like the comfort factor of wearing it on its own, but usually only when I'm by myself. Alternatively, it's a great, easy reach when you're not feeling anything else in your collection but don't want to go out wearing nothing at all-- or simply needing the least offensive possible thing for closed spaces. But if you're in the mood to surround yourself in a cloud of white musky freshness, roll this on and then spray Jovan White Musk right on top of it. It's instantly like stepping outside under a clear, cloudless blue sky. For this reason I take it with me on long airplane flights. It can be wonderful medicine for confined spaces, sour times or the winter blues.

I love white musk, especially oils, and have tried a lot of them so I was pretty excited for this to arrive in the mail but when I opened it, my first thought was that it "smelled like perfume" and gave me a kind of vague memory of smelling my friend's mom's perfumes in the 90s, not any specific ones but more of the impression of a dresser full of them as a whole. I find this very floral and honestly not that musky. It started out a bit floral and a little sweet and light but then it warmed up got even more heavily floral. It's not similar to The Body Shop or Jovan White Musks, or any other white musks I've tried, so maybe I'm anosmic to the musk in it and all I'm smelling are the florals, but I made it about half an hour before having to wash it off. Unfortunately, in that time frame, the places I applied it also started to feel irritated. Really disappointed I didn't get the experience so many people described. On the plus side, it was really cheap so I don't feel as disappointed as I might have if I'd invested a lot in it. Edit: so even after washing it off in a shower, it does have very strong lasting power and I can still smell it, and- finally- the musky note under all the flowers, which is nice. Unfortunately, I read below this has lily in it so that must be what I'm having issues with. Lily never, ever works for me, so just be forewarned if your skin hates lily, too this might not be the white musk for you.

Bought this cos someone below stated it smells like Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez. To me, it simply smells like bare skin. Whether that is good or not, I am yet to decide. But this has very soft sillage, sits close to the skin. Kind of pointless in my opinion, but I'm still playing with it and seeing where it goes.

In a brief overview, this is a unisex clean, somewhat sweet musk perfume oil which leans towards the feminine side. Smell is akin to a mixture of baby powder and slightly floral fabric softener. Longevity is on average 3-4 hours with some projection. Rating: 7.2/10
