I’ve never smelled the original, but this smells AMAZING, and one of my most used perfumes, and one that I will rebuy. I don’t think this is for everyone. It’s mature, sexy, and honestly kinda edgy. I get compliments when I wear it, so others can smell the projection. I’ve also bought Black Truffle & Peach Smash from Alt, both dupes for Tom Ford, and Black Truffle is identical to Black Orchid. With that being said, I’m a fan of this brand, just wish they offered 3oz bottles for all of the fragrances, not just some.

I, as someone who has never smelled Baccarat Rogue 540, adore this fragrance. It's, in my opinion, perfectly unisex. Just sweet enough to be feminine, just woody/spicy enough to pass as masculine. I feel great wearing this as an 18 year old guy. Very nice, will buy again. [Mental Imagery]: A cool night in autumn, the bittersweet smell of dead leaves under a fruit tree, the breeze hitting you just perfectly.

The kind of fragrance that you would use to mist a letter to someone dear to you. Dry-down evokes the feeling of wearing a loved one's sweater, very beautiful.

Bought for my sister as a Christmas present. Great scent all around. I haven't personally used it so can't speak to longevity or sillage

Smells very close to BR500. Great price and slightly longer lasting.

I loved the first bottle of Alt. Crystal No. 23 I had. It smelled just like Baccarat Rouge 540. Sweet, ambery, and just perfect on my skin. It lasted a good while, and was just addictive. So naturally I re-purchased form the company, but the second bottle I got smelled NOTHING like the first. It smelled like men's aftershave. I sent that one back for store credit and ordered Bold Love. In the meantime, I ordered another Crystal 23 from eBay. That one has a faint scent like the first, but nowhere near as good and it's heavy on the alcohol. So I read that sometimes with these perfumes, it's best to leave them on a shelf (after a couple of sprays), in a dark place, where they can mature into how they're supposed to smell. I also got the Crystal Extrait and it had similar problems. They are both waiting on a shelf in the dark and I just hope they both come out beautiful like the first one. I've read that Alt fragrances can be super inconsistent so I don't know what to expect.

Got this for $10 for 30mL and honestly its not bad at all. It has the essence of BR540, up close they are pretty different but in the air you couldn't tell the difference. Thats the thing with BR540 is you are never going to truly get the same effect as the original. You can get super close but BR540 is legendary for a reason. Between this and Dossier's Ambery Saffron I much prefer this. Ambery Saffron has this really gross burnt rubber smell in the opening on my skin and doesn't last very long. I have no problem with longevity, it lasts a long time and seems to project well. I personally like to layer this with CDNIM. For the price I got I think this is a steal. It's not overpowering like some other BR540 dupes but not weak either.

I really love the actual fragrance of this. It's mossy, clean, and warm, yet refreshing. However, because it's duping BR540, you can find similar scents pretty much everywhere The projection? Abysmal. Does not project at all. You can only smell it if you put your nose directly on your skin. Even though it's labeled "extrait de parfum", this is not any better than a body mist. I only have this because it was $2 unused at a thrift store, I wouldn't pay any more for it

If you get a bottle of Crystal from a *good* batch, it's exceptionally close to the real deal. The first bottle I ordered still smells fantastic, whereas the back-up I ordered initially smelled like cinnamon-infused water and nothing like BR 540. It was terrible. Fortunately, it smells the way it should after I let it sit for 6+ months, but it's safe to say ALT is very inconsistent with their products and customer service. Buyers beware.

I'm a bit noseblind to this one, but as far as I can tell it shares a similar DNA enough with the OG. Because of the noseblindness I can detect fairly decent differences between it and AG Cloud, this one smells thin because I'm missing a chunk of the middle/base notes. I'm fine with Cloud so I layer the two so I can smell it! Edit: these fragrances need time to macerate. They smell amazing 2 years later!

This is definitely a real extrait de parfum. Not what others claim to be. Has an oily dry down. Lasts forever. Exact dupe of BR 540. This is one of the best dupes out there due to its longevity. I have others from this brand and never disappoint on longevity. Great quality.

I’ve never smelled Baccarat Rouge 540 so I don’t know how good of a dupe this is, but I like the way it smells. Perfectly sweet, spicy, and ambery. It’s a very mature and sexy kind of scent with a bit of an edge.

It does smell like BR 540, but it’s so weak. I sprayed it and I was like where did the scent go?! First, it has to dry down, then you have to spray a lot to get a better/stronger scent. I’m glad I bought it during Black Friday sale since I’m not sure it was worth it given you have to spray a lot. I also have Red Temptation from Zara and that one last a little longer and somewhat stronger. For the price point, I’d rather keep buying the Zara version.

5 years ago, when I first started buying fragrances, I got this and a few other ALT brand items. The Aventus clone, great. The Sauvage clone.. amazing. This was just awful.. I had never smelled BR540 before and thought, what was the hype about? This is one of the worst BR540 clones I've ever smelled. It was just wrong.. nothing like it. Because I finally got a decant of the original. This is just bad.. or it WAS at least. Im not sure if they have reformulated it or not. But what I had a few years ago was awful. If you want a good BR540 clone, you have a few options. Ariana Grande - Cloud is good. More feminine leaning but good nonetheless. Mancera - Instant Crush.. lasts long, smells great. Unisex in my opinion. And of course, Armaf - Untold. That is my personal favorite. But there is also one thats slept on. Its not expensive but it is a good alternative to BR540 and thats Franck Olivier - Pure Addiction. Its a solid alternative for a fraction of the price. Probably less expensive than the others listed before.

Save your money. There are much better Baccarat dupes out there. This has almost no smell. Even after several sprays, I have to put my nose against my skin to even tell there is any fragrance at all. I am surprised at any good reviews for this product. Either they’re bot reviews or I got a bottle from a bad batch. I’m going to put it aside and let it macerate for awhile to see if it improves. I’ll change my review if it does. But for now, it’s a pass for me.

I'm sad I fell for the Instagram hype last summer. This is not a good BR dupe. Not because it doesn't smell somewhat similar, but because it just smells unpleasant. I'm pretty easy going and tolerant when it comes to smells and I had to wash this off myself it was that bad. ALT absolutely scrubs bad reviews from their website. That's because their products are wack. Do not buy this. Zara red temptation is a million times better.

Unfortunately this one smells bad. It has this bitter smell and not very close to BR 540 at all. I might end up throwing it away. Waste of money unfortunately. Which is sad because their cherry smash lost cherry dupe is actually quite good. And I like their Layton dupe too.

I don't understand how this scent profile is so sought after. This has a cardboardy woody and very sweet smell. The saffron is noticeable in this one. Pretty similar to Finery's dupe but sweeter and less woody. $30 for 30 ml is not worth it.

I'm all for a good BR540 dupe, I truly am. I love In the Stars, Cloud, and I like 7 Summers.. but something is ferociously wrong with this perfume 😂 Someone mentioned possibly having better or worse batches, and.. well, I certainly hope that can account for this. Because there's an overwhelmingly wretched, sour (like, beyond Santal 33), skunky pickle base to this. It makes it difficult to detect anything else. And if there was supposed to be pretty saffron, fir or woods...they're beaten into submission by the funky chemical scent. This lingered in TJMaxx today while I shopped, and I wasn't the one who sprayed it. When I went to sniff the bottle, I also couldn't smell anything else redeeming from a closer inspection. So, this doesn't smell intoxicating in the air, or up close like BR540 (or it's cousins/dupes) does. I think I smell cedar, and that's about it. It's that airy, spun sugar tone...but paired with stench instead of gorgeous supporting notes. I've tried a few ALT so far, and I'm not impressed. I'll keep going for it when I see them in discount stores, but I haven't enjoyed them much yet.

Please dont think that just because it is a dope I hate this, because I genuinely, HATE this perfume. One of my favorite perfumes is a dope ( its lattafa angham and it’s a dupe for Burberry goddess). This smells like straight alcohol if you poured in on an antique chair. I thought maybe if I let it macerate it would be any better but I was wrong. I never really hate perfumes, but this is my most hated. Second place is channel number 5 but that one is no where, not even close, to how bad this “fragrance” smelt.

I've never had a chance to smell BR, but if it's anything like this, I don't want to. I got a sample of this, and it was so bad, I had to wash it off as soon as I got home. I'm pretty tolerant of most fragrances, and i'm even into more niche/weird scents, but this was just terrible. If I could describe it, the smell reminds me of burnt plastic, sweet cough syrup, and alcohol.

I've been inundated with ALT ads everywhere, so I "caved" and purchased this. The dry-down musk note is an animalic musk instead of a clean musk. I've not smelled Baccarat Rouge 540, so I can't compare the two. I know this dupe is not for me, as it definitely has a masculine vibe to it. After a while, all you can smell is the skanky, dirty musk base note.

Some Baccarat dupes smell like pickles on me, and this is one of them. Dossier is way better.

It appears that I received a “good“ batch of ALT Crystal. I purchased a 60 mL bottle a few months ago. It was my first purchase of an ALT fragrance. Mine smells quite good on my skin, and I get many compliments when I wear it. My bottle has a beautiful saffron note, and it’s just a wonderful bright, clear fragrance that is quite different from my usual orientals like Guerlain Shalimar EDP or vintage extrait (the fragrance love of my life). I bought this on a lark and did not expect to like it. I’m very pleasantly surprised that I do. However, reading most of these reviews, I worry about my second bottle. Perhaps I should buy it in advance and age it awhile to hedge my bet.

Reading the reviews below where folks complain of longevity or silage, I gotta say it could very well be in our genes. I can smell NOTHING in this, tiny amber (like the strength of 4 day old watery cologne), but nothing else. Scratching my head, I squirted a good spray of the real deal Baccarat 540. Okay, BR540, show me your stuff! Nothing, zip, overpriced water. There’s something in my sniffing apparatus that doesn’t compute. I’ve since read that people can be nose blind. I guess so. However, a kind soul gifted me BR540 Extrait, and I could smell it! I adore the scents of Arabie and have plenty of fallbacks, but 540 is afloat in the ether for me.

Everyone please don’t waste your money on this! Do for Club de Nuit Untold or Lattafa rouge ($17). There are many better inspirations of baccarat that last longer and are wayyy better!! Their corny ads talk for themself. Using famous names for clout shows how good they are. 50 dollars for this is ridiculous

I loved my first bottle of this, wore it every day. Then bought my second bottle and it just has this stale alcohol smell, none of the old scent at all - not sure if it was reformulated or if I just got a bad batch

How come there are no reviews for this? Lots of people say on their website they delete bad reviews. Curious to read more about this from people.
