Don’t Cry For Me is being fifteen in a bottle. I exclusively used chamomile baby shampoo for most of that year, and a cheap perfume bottled in pink plastic that could be found next to jewelry patinated with stories and dust older than I. I’d smell the aldehydes in my hair to pass time and escape the droning voices of teachers who always questioned my saddened, apathetic disposition, but whose words were never of any consolation. I was inconsolable and grieving—what? I do not know. Grief was the true subject, waiting alongside petals so precious they did not even know of it, and the warmth of my skin. Don’t Cry For Me is the spring of a young woman’s life, a scent that quietly comes into force, a murmured plea. I knew nothing but felt as if the sorrow I carried was truer than life. I reinforced this through naively reading Nietzsche because some tenured man thought it would be of help. I find a great postmodern irony in the juxtaposition of such florals coupled with sadness. I am reminded of sneaking off to the shed in my backyard, smoking the Marlboros I stole from my dad while listening to The Velvet Underground and Nico’s vampiric voice, which was a comfort, still smelling like I carried a bouquet of front yard flowers in my pockets. I was cautious not to let embers fall on my stockings so my mom would have one less thing to worry about than me shamefully smoking in an attempt to cure what I now know as the disclosure of Dasein and the anxiety that follows—though back then I would’ve never read Heidegger, as to fifteen-year-old me he was German, boring, and dense (I now love him). I was named anxious; that only drove me toward a final absolution that never existed outside a draft in my head. This perfume is all of that which has been described and more: it followed me into every room and filled the noses of people from my past. It's ignorant of its own sweetness in a way that's endearing, it's fresh and fittingly warm. It's distant and vulnerable in the way a 15 year old who's holding back tears is. I could never wear this now, only read it—like reading myself in a language I once knew. edit: as I was writing this I grabbed a diary/journal of mine from that time, I both cringed at the off page annotations of Adorno and Deleuze but smiled at the press flower that fell from its pages.

This is so good. On my skin I can't detect any powderiness or vanilla, other than that the other listed main accords are spot on. This one is soft, fresh, floral, and it has a perfectly subdued sweetness. It has something else as well that is hard to explain, and it made me get a full bottle. It smells like a hint of sharpness or bitterness that keeps it from getting dull or flat. This is, for me, one of those rare instances where I felt a fragrance was "me" after trying a sample, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. On my skin it lasts forever, albeit a skin scent after several hours, and I got whiffs of it all day. It's not loud at all, but I wouldn't want it to be. If you liked the discontinued Green by Byredo you'll surely love this one as well as they're extremely similar. I love Green, and still have it, but I have to admit that this one surpassed it. My fragrance journey might have ended with Don't Cry For Me.

This is a first impression based off of a sample vial I got from Lucky Scent. This fragrance reminds me a lot of a favorite of mine from my collection of Aerin mini-bottles: Mediterranean Honeysuckle Mimosa. I see from the "This perfume reminds me of" section above, I'm not the only one who has agreed with this comparison. Given I will not likely buy from Aerin any longer, I may buy a bottle of this fragrance if I run out of MHM.

Starts off as green tea and petals, then a few hours in the feminine sweetness comes out. Really nice floaty kind of scent and doesn't kick everyone around you in the face with flowers. Since it's light but still there I'd say you could probably layer it with the right cologne or something if you wanted more of "you smell nice" rather than "I smell flowers somewhere".

I love this for the ambrette dry down. It’s an optimistic, hyper-clean, watery floral with no sharp edges. A quintessential shampoo/dollhead fragrance in the best way possible. Sometimes it leans jasmine, other times it’s rose. I can’t get enough of it. You may not notice it after a bit, but it lasts a long time.

Proof that not everything has to be complex to be beautiful. I think the fragrance community can tend to overlook scents if they are too "nice." This shouldn't be overlooked. It has a radiant innocence about it. A cup of chilled tea under a lush cherry blossom tree.

Really beautiful, a romantic and heavenly perfume. After years I felt this perfume again, and now it was love. Sillage: 6.5/10 Longevity: 7./10 Scent: 8./10 Overall: 8./10

Sharp white floral that manages to transform into something watery and softer rather quickly. It’s blended well enough, though I think the freesia note is a bit overdone in the opening, hence the sharpness, but I find that to be true for most perfumes containing the note. The labdanum, of course, is overwhelmingly apparent during the first several hours. So if you are not fond of that note, it will be difficult to fully find joy in this fragrance, which is the case for me. I would consider a travel spray. Overall, it is a nice scent, and becomes especially lovely after the 4-5 hour mark, even more so in its final hours. However, if you’re already acquainted with a clean/soft floral of your own, I doubt this will be enchanting enough to supersede it. Very reminiscent of Penhaligon’s The Favourite, save the ambroxan.

I really, really like this, but the tea note in this is so similar to that in White Tea by Elizabeth Arden, which I like a bit more than this. So, I'm not sure I can justify the price given how similar it is to such a cheap perfume. There are definitely differences. This is more, sweet, floral, and warmer, whereas WT by EA reminds me of a foggy day. But the tea note is most prominent in both, and it's so similar to the Elizabeth Arden. I wonder if I could find something similar to this in the White Tea flankers. This is less a review and more of an internal debate written down. But overall this smells great but probably way overpriced. Bummer.

I 100% agree to the previous comment down below - a good mixture between La Tulipe and Blanche from Byredo. It’s a clean floral scent I like it

This could conjure up drying linen in Buenos Aires-- Old fashioned but without the heavy hand. When housekeepers would beat the laundry with a racket kind of time. I could see with this fragrance la Señora de la casa, who restricts her diet and likes to wear white in mega polluted B.A-- not an issue, the housekeepers beats it out at night. She applies this liberally day and night--thats this scent. I guess "A Long Time Ago In Argentina" nailed it? Not much in the head of this Señora she's a bit of a bore slightly conservative but always carefully curates her sex appeal as a main life purpose. Its inoffensive, nostalgic, it's not very opinionated, not powdery, it's lovely.

I just can’t decide if I like it or not. If I smell my skin with my nose on the skin, it’s so beautiful, flowery, comforting. If I move my head further away from my skin, there is something not fitting the whole composition and it’s screeching my nose. Very sad.

I had a crush on this years ago, couldn't afford it, didn't want such a big bottle anyway, more or less forgot about it. Now, in this my 'Summer of Byredo Love', I remembered it and ordered an Altaia sample set. Hmmmmmmm. DCFM is still the only one I like - floral, sweet, summery, lovely. However! Where is the staying power? It's even less than Byredo's! (And yes, it is slightly less expensive, but still...) Come on, you niche perfumers, strengthen up already!

  • em inglês

It is a pretty clean floral, very wearable and inoffensive. I smelled lilac in the opening, which probably was fresia. The tea is there too. The longevity and projection are poor especially for this price range. Feels like Eau d'Italie creators decided to make a line that appeals to the masses with its simplicity and cuteness.

Bright & green and a bit sweet in a end of the sniff. lots and lots of jasmine and freesia. Use, Fall and spring/on the cold side. Scent: 5/10--------- soapy, clean and floral Longevity: 4/10----3 hours max Sillage:5/10------- Fills the room up to 2 hours after that skin scent -Do you need to have it? -not really.

I have a sample I asked niche parfume store owner to send me (with my order) some sample of his choice. I told him i like clean and fresh / soapy /powdery fragrances His choice is on point! Its beautiful clean soapy floreal scent It is little bit similar to chloe love odt! Beautiful for summer!

  • em inglês

This is not soapy at all....it is bright and beautiful..... you can wear this anytime of the year..... but it wont last the whole day...max is 3-4 hours and thats fine, coz I can spray again during lunch break :)

  • em inglês

This smells like nature’s soap. I don’t love it but it’s very nice. It would be great for a home scent. Smells clean and fresh but not in that synthetic, chemically way.

  • em inglês

This smells overwhelmingly sweet to me. Kinda lacking character, it is a safe boring floral. Crazy projection though.

  • em inglês

Fresh sweet floral like a fabric conditioner. Somewhat reminded me of La Tulipe and Blanche of Byredo...
