Spectre 590 - 899 Wash Of Chilled Vetiver

It's a perfectly executed vetiver fragrance, surprisingly and masterfully shows three different facets of the vetiver frag world at the same time. Opening is a minty refreshing vetiver, in 1 h mark turns into a smoky one as if some branches are burning next to you, and the drydown is nutty vetiver a la Sycomore. Of course the main theme is always vetiver but i had never seen one, displaying such different facets of a theme at the same time. A huge applause to Bertrand Duchaufour

Happy to find this one. Starts as if you grind a handful of cardamom in a place with an extinguished fireplace, this is where the cold smokiness is coming from. Soon you can get a whiff of chopped spearmint leaves on a wooden board and here and there a bit of supportive saltiness. If you wonder where is the bloody vetiver it's all around hanging in sheaves.

First impressions: Very upscale smokey yet approachable vetiver. Crisp and clean with little sweetness in the top leading to a dusty warm drydown. Easy to wear and unoffensive while still being unique and elegant. Happy with this one.

Love the opening. It smells like walking through a forest- very herbal and does not smell synthetic. then the dry down is minty and somewhat sweet. Good performance too and i like sniffing it throughout the day

I get 40% toothpaste mint and vetiver. Pine, birch tar and cardamom is 40%, and i can't separate the last 20% of the scent over all the mint. It numbs my nose a bit. Reminds me a lot of the Memoir Man by Amouage. Same overwhelming toothpaste mint. It does give the "chilled and fresh" scent. But i don't like smelling like toothpaste. The scent itself is nice, just not as a fragrance. Personal score: 7/10. Good perfumery, and it is better when it is in the air, then when you get up close. But unwearable for me personally.

Lime acidity, earthy vetiver, spearmint, wormwood and burnt thyme. According to the brand themselves this one is in the "Fresh" category, I'd say this is not for someone looking for something fresh and light. Heavily aromatic, hardcore vetiver scent suitable for more elegant situations. Sure, it has a lightly refreshing top note but as soon as that's gone this is more heavy than light. Lovely scent either way.
