Agua de Colonia Concentrada Barberia

I was going to give a detailed review, but bythebayandaroundtheway already hit most of the points I had. I have the EDP version, which I bought for 15 euros on a discount rack in a mall in Sevilla. Blind buy, but I can never resist a new barbershop fragrance. Note: This is not barbershop in the "shaving cream" sense of the word. The rhubarb, artemesia and oakmoss notes give this a lovely sharp, astringent quality that plays a well-orchestrated trio with the bright citrus. Most sites sell the cologne concentree version, but you can get the EDP on the Alvarez Gomez site, 150ml for about $20. Easy blind buy for more mature gentlemen who appreciate this style of fragrance. Update: Everything that I said above is true, at least for the first 90 minutes. At that point, the rhubarb/artemesia/oakmoss trio pull way back, removing half of the charm of this scent. In its place, a somewhat-sharp, feminine-leaning floral accord enters. While the accord is a bit vague, my mind's eye (nose?) is getting something like cyclamen and a light cloying scent similar to rose. For me, this is not a positive development. Also, the promised labdanum, cedar and sandalwood are barely perceptible. This progression has repeated itself over the four or five times that i have worn this. Fantastic for the first 90 minutes, disappointing drydown. For the price, that first 90 minutes is enough to justify the very low price for a big bottle, but this isn't as much of a certified blind-buy as I initially thought.

Waking up to a Mediterranean morning in the summer has been bottled. Citrusy, zesty, and tart. That is how AG Barberia EDP opens. Then comes the coriander and rhubarb notes to ground out the bite of the ginger and the tartness of the citruses. It is fantastic how natural this fragrance smells, nothing synthetic here. I must also add that the labdanum note in this fragrance is one of the most distinguishable labdanum notes I have smelt in a long time. The note separation In AG Barberia is fantastic! This is not your typical barbershop fragrance, forget; soapy, spicy and sweet notes and think of just this natural citric freshness, like one can find in a hot humid towel that was wrapped around your face post shave. Then we get to the base of the musk and woods (perfectly natural sandalwood note rendered here). Just a perfect ending to a fantastic fragrance. Barberia is for summer and spring and is perfect for day wear. This works in and out of the office but I think this is perfect for weekend wear partnered with a short sleeve leisure shirt. Barberia is a moderate performer so you can apply liberally to get more out of a day's wearing. I find this to be for the 35 and up crowd and is a perfect post shave fragrance. Give AG Barberia a few sprays when you need a strong reminder that there is plenty to be done in the day, before you get to that mid-afternoon siesta.

A great cheapie in the barbershop category! This time mr smelly was right, Alvarez gomez barberia smells very nice, clean and well blended and all for a fantastic price. Lemon, bergamot, lavender, cedar, musk and spicies: that's what you can find here, a sunny, positive yet stylish way. Ok here is not something groundbreaking but the price vs quality ratio is super competitive. I tried it first in a store and it was the barberia colonia concentrada. Then i placed an order on internet and arrived the edp. For what i can remember they smell the same. Performance is just ok, but you can spray it 20 times and nobody will be offended by the smell. Better for warm seasons. It's similar to acqua di Parma colonia intensa, of course the adp is on another level(and another price). Glad to have it! Alvarez gomez barberia è un ottimo profumo barbershop dal costo irrisorio. È in stile acqua di Parma colonia intensa, ovviamente non ha lo stesso livello di qualità e performance ma per quel che si paga è un grande affare. Consigliato! Writing here same comment I shared on Parfumo, which is about Barberia EDP. I own the 150ml Eau de Parfum version of Barberia. Not sure if it has the same scent profile of this "Agua de Colognia Concentrada" though, have not smelled that one. But I wonder if it's the exact same fragrance? Possibly the brand simply relabeled the bottle concentration and packaging from EdCC to EDP? Neither here nor in Parfumo is there an entry for the EDP. Barberia EDP is no beast mode for sure, feels more like a light EDT, so pretty much exactly what an "EdC Concentree" would sort of correspond to. Even if they call it EDP, it can be safely oversprayed for sure, you will not overwhelm anyone or yourself. Barberia EDP is a great fresh classic, citric, green, barbershoppy type of fragrance. When I first smelled Sedley, after a couple of days I realized what it reminded me of, and it was Barberia EDP, which is older (well, this EdCC is at least.) So I wonder if Sedley might actually have been inspired by Barberia (EDP/EdCC.) Notes as listed on the box of the EDP: bergamot, lemon, orange, labdanum, rhubarb, coriander, cedar, sandalwood.

This one gets a big like from me. Great morning starter that opens with a fresh citrus and ginger. In the dry down there is a nice barbershop smell with sandelwood, cloves and cinnamon with a little zestiness from the rhubarb. On the website I read all mentioned ingredients are 100% pure naturals. And I can smell that indeed, the freshness is very uplifting. On the simply designed but functional bottle I read that this is supposed to be an eau de parfum, but the performance is more like an eau de toilette, with a very natural smell. It doesn't last the entire day on me but after 6 hours I can still smell a whisper of soft barbershop wood, ginger and spices. This is a great very affordable barbershop fragrance that really surprised me in a positive way. I love that typical Spanish perfumery a lot!

I love love love this Fragrance over many very good fragrances in same direction like (Eau de Rochas -Floris No.89 - Capucci pour Homme - Aqua di Parma ) I have all of them .. but this one (Agua de Colonia Concentrada Barberia Alvarez Goméz EDP)is different , it gives me that feel in Luxury Barbershop in Monaco (combination of notes are amazing) , so much this Fragrance classy. Luxury Barbershop fragrance for this Price .. wow it is hidden gem for sure !!. Great Done from Alvarez Goméz !! very Recommended Update: after 2 hours you smell slightly pleasant very nice spices in background, I think come from Coriander and Ginger (wonderful juice). Update 2 : I sprayed it on 4 PM now it is 11:15 pm also over 7 hours , I can still smell it on my skin

Quick one...definitely smells of Colonia Intensa (Acqua di Parma) and is beautifully soapy with an Italian barber shop hit...but lasts until you reach your front door...just. If you are thinking of purchasing as a cheap alternative to ADP, just save up and get the ADP. I have the 150ml and spray about 10ml every time I use this to make sure it actually sits on me. Shame as it's lovely!

I have no idea if my bottle that is labelled eau de parfum is the same as the agua concentrada, but it was marketed as such. A wonderful allrounder, not too barbershoppy — you can wear it any time of the day and year. I prefer it to AdP’s Colonia Intensa in fact, it is maybe a touch rougher but in a manner that suits my taste. At the low price it has, it is a safe blind buy.

This is just perfection for the asking price. If you like Ghost in the shell by ELDO you'll def love this. Totally unisex, don't get yourself confuse by the name. Another spanish Masterclass on how to deliver cheap and beautiful fragrances. 10/10

A very nice fragrance that I purchased in Barcelona. It is a classic eau de cologne, but improved with a floral aura. It has a good longevity, it is warm and pleasant.

Que chulada, hombre! This is classic Spaniard barbershop scent. Muy macho! Makes me want to safekeep it because it's so hard to find it out of Spain.

This is a fantastic fresh, zingy and uplifting fragrance without any sweetness. Projection and longevity are moderate. I love it!

Ginger is at the top, opening the scent with a Campari-like bitter orange, otherwise the opening very much reminded me of Acqua di Parma's Colonia Intensa - at first. So this is Campari & Soda with orange slice to AdP Intensa's Martini Bianco & Lemon slice (that would be because of the Artemisia found in both AdP and Vermouth), in the opening that is. A comparison drawn from my other hobby there :) The heart goes a different direction and brings slight spiciness, maybe because of the listed coriander, a faint memory of orient, with rhubarb and labdanum. I don't really detect the coriander as such, but perhaps it is the ingredient giving that structure and backbone which doesn't let the midriff go too mellow so that it stays vibrant for longer, and to the end. All these elements combined let it stay subtly tart and warm all at once, very nice. In my book, it has all the four corners of a fragrance covered; elegance, masculinity, freshness, sensuality, I'd say quite equally so but still in that order. As such, it's very usable in the real world not being too much of any one thing, and so I find myself wearing this often (working in cool & warm) and that's why it just managed to squeeze itself in to my 'favourites' of which there are only a few. Edit: I recently checked the list of ingredients on the package and at almost the bottom there is oakmoss (evernia prunastri) listed. Funnily enough, (and I'm not sure if my mind is playing tricks with me since knowing) today wearing this I started getting slight whiffs of oakmoss or something that was similarly sharpish, earthy, sensual, at around 4.5h mark and up to about 7h... hmm. Well, moss fans will be pleased to know at least it is in there somewhere, whether you can really detect it or not..

I bought this in 2023, in Spain. I ended up selling it, as it didn't quite meet the "cologne" idea I had in my head - Barberia is much more thick, musky and rich than something like 4711. However, the pack I bought came with 150ml + 20ml, and I kept the smaller bottle. The soft, bitter orange in the opening is beautiful and vivid. It then transitions into a very grandiose balsamic phase, driven by the labdanum - warm, but dry and clean. It fades a lot towards the dry down, leaving a slightly vague but nicely 'Mediterranean' musky, woody air. Today I got a spray of Acqua di Parma Intensa on my wrist - Barberia is definitely a clone/homage, right down to the bronze packaging. I wanted to go on and buy the AdP as an upgrade - and it does kind of give a "hi definition" version of Barberia, with more of a discernable leather, slightly animalic in nature - but I can't honestly say that I strongly prefer it over Barberia. The Alvarez Gomez scent really shines in the opening and mid, whereas the AdP has a more nuanced base, although I do find something slightly synthetic in the AdP dry-down. I think I will re-buy this and just over spray!

I love this fragrance, mainly for two reasons, it's intimate nature and it's elegance. Yes it's basically 97% the same as colonia intensa which frankly isn't a bad thing, like many state , the bitter orange in the opening makes a nice touch. On the whole it's wonderfully far removed from the loud, sickly sweet, overbearing look at me look at me fragrance's of today. I feel it takes a confident person to wear it, because you know in yourself it smells good and you smell good whilst wearing it but you are secure enough as a person to understand you are not going get noticed by all and sundry, this is where the intimate factor comes into play, confidence draws someone close enough then watch the quizzical look as their neurones are firing , wondering what that fantastic smell is. This is a fragrance for a man, not a boy, a man who tucks his shirt in, who wears shoes not sneakers on a night out, who doesn't crave attention but graciously accepts it when given.

Based on what I believe is an edp concentration. Citrus, lavender, aromatic, animalic. Orange juice, a bit sour, pine. Vetiver, moss, spices, sandalwood. Conifers, Is a little powdery, a little airy. Soft leather, more vetiver, amber, more orange. Smells kinda dusty. Eventually turns cleaner and smells detergent-like but retains some warm aromatic musky notes. Performance - projects mildly but lasts as a skin scent for at least 8hrs. Fine all year, will shine a bit brighter in summer. More of a day scent, masculine, guys ages 25+. This is great value for money. Puts one in mind of "Paco," "Terre D'Hermes" and even "Eau Sauvage." Lasts as long as the latter too, (maybe even longer?)

This is like Eau de Portugal hair tonic strengthened to fit EDT. If you like Eau de Portugal, you will like this. For a barbershop feel, combine both! I often use Floid aftershave and prefer a light fragrance to go with it that doesn't overpower it and this Eau de Cologne fits the bill perfectly. Alvarez Gomez, I'm a fan!

This is another solid offering from Alvarez Gomez --- as with Colonia Concentrada, this Barberia (Barber shop) edition is a more "serious" citrus explosion for summer days. Aroma is a little more elegant due to woody notes but keeping the fantastic DNA from the original. A little more pricey but worth it.

- Mix of citrusy old school barbershop aftershaves, ADP's Bergamotta di Calibria, and pencil shavings (wood). - 45 minutes or so into drydown, it becomes Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver.

Zesty, bitter, soapy citrus. Similar to ADP Colonia. Not quite the same quality but still excellent. Perfect for hot weather.

Classic barbershop after-shave scent that smells like mature confidence, very bright bitter orange. Love it early on but dislike how it develops this musky yellow floral smell an hour or so after spraying.

Begins bright, fresh, has this typical classic manly scent. Something bitter in the background like orange peels. It's very herby/spicy There is a synthetic note present that I don't like. Maybe anise?

Ok, so I have owned this in the past and it was like a cheaper, weaker stand-in for AdP Colonia Intensa. It had a vibe that can be found in Colonia Intensa, Creed Tabarome or Truefitt and Hill Spanish leather. Barbershop spiciness, definitely redolent of days gone by when men dressed formally and had a wet shave whilst enjoying a fat Cuban cigar. Pricewise you could over-apply this all day long to make up for any performance deficit. Hard to get recently, even in Spain. And it was in Spain only a few days ago that I stumbled upon a lovely brown and AdP yellow box, solitary and unpriced in a perfumery. Alvarez Gómez Barbería. Great. Then I read on.....Eau de Parfum. Never heard of it before, nor seen it. I purchased it for less than 20€ right then and there. Wow. What a great blind buy. Smells wonderful with essentially the same notes as the Colonia Concentrada minus the ginger and white musk. The rhubarb, coriander and cedar work fabulously well together and it is significantly more astringent and potent. There is none of the cake-like quality that bedevils the other fragrances I have mentioned. Very aromatic with a realistic rhubarb note that even produces its classic effect in the throat and on the soft palate. Perfume strength, leaves an oily residue on skin after spraying. For mature men who have and enjoy the trappings of authority. Good performer, definitely do not over-apply this iteration (I have not given performance ratings here because it is NOT the colonia concentrada version). EDIT: You can actually buy it from their website. After a few days using this new version I get about 6 hours from it which is maybe 1.5 hours more than the previous version, so if wearing all day then 2 applications, if not you could safely wear something else in the evening although there would be some residual layering effect . The Christmas cake vibe is still there. Still a like from me though...

There are very few reviews of this anywhere so it was pretty much a blind buy for me. And what a wonderful find! At first sniff it called to mind the original Gucci pour homme (1974)...or perhaps its slightly more restrained (though equally suave and cultured) Spanish cousin visiting from Madrid. The citrus top notes are remarkably blended and remain in play throughout the wearing. Just a hint of spice (quite a bit less than Gucci)to keep things interesting and then a warm woodsy musk that plays perfectly off the citrus. Projection is fair (like the true Mediterranean gentleman, it doesn't need to scream its presence.) Longevity is surprisingly good as a close proximity scent. I see this as outstanding for the office as well as personal encounters. One last comment: this is one of the few times that a fragrance's marketing hyperbole is right on the mark. It describes Barberia as "fresh and elegant", "seductive yet understated." I couldn't agree more.

This is indeed similar to Acqua di Parma's Colonia Intensa. More precisely, it is a kind of low-resolution version of CI; it is less refined, less distinctive, and less potent. It conveys the same idea, but in a simpler, cheaper manner. However, the idea behind CI is so great that Barberia is still very good when considered in its own right, especially for the Spanish price of 18.95€ for 150ml. However, unless you can find it for a bargain outside of Spain (I found mine for $10 + shipping), I would say skip it and spend a little more on CI. That said, I could imagine someone preferring Barberia to CI, as it more anodyne and therefore (perhaps) more mass appealing. In short, Barberia is a low-resolution version of Colonia Intensa. While inferior to that, it is still very good for the price.

If you like; Acqua Di Parma's Colonia Assoluta, Florida Water by Murray and Lanman, Rive Gauche by YSL or Old Spice, chances are, you like Barbershop citrus aromatic offerings and/or Fougeres. Agua de Colonia Concentrada is a lovely, fresh, warming and clean scent that reminds you of the mystery hair tonic that a barber would apply to your hair in a classic barber's just prior to you paying and leaving after a hair cut. The longevity is poor, the scent however, is fantastic, fresh and timeless and at the price (80ml in the UK for approx 25 GBP) it's a no brainer!

I have the aftershave/facial moisturizer and have not had a chance to try the cologne. I find a balsam, old school barbershop feel, something I prefer in most of my scents. Warm, woody, pleasant and clean. As the review above states, seductive yet understated....in line with the advertising. Something a little different.

I love this. It's fresh, bright, Mediterranean and with a smooth background hint of shaving cream. But I really wish it lasted more than 0.000005 seconds 😉 if this fragrance lasted for 4 - 6 hours, it would be the best summer scent for men currently in my eyes.

It would be very accurate to say it is very similar to "Acqua di Parma - Colonia Intensa."
